When we brought our mother to this facility it was well managed, clean and had high quality food. However, several months ago the previous management quit. Under current leadership, the quality of the food has deteriorated (even the manager admitted it's bad when we asked if they eat it), the rooms are poorly cleaned, the overall facilities aren't well maintained and, most importantly, the quality of care is distributing. (I will say that there are a few aids there that are kind and work very hard to take care of the patients so I do not want to suggest that everyone there is poor at their job.) However, the manager is extremely difficult to communicate with in any situation but in a difficult situation it is impossible. I haven't experienced a more poorly qualified managerial staff in any circumstance in any business. Most importantly, we moved our mother immediately to another facility when an aid (and current Bartlett employee) reached out to let us know she was disgusted by "what is going on with your mother". We only knew the care level had declined to the point it was unacceptable. We were not aware of other issues and didn't take the time to find out. We simply left.
I take no joy in sharing this. I would rather the quality of care and attention to cleanliness have remained as it was when we arrived. I would rather share positive reviews for a place entrusted with such important care. However, that's not the case and if you're bringing an elderly family member to an assisted living facility please beware that this is a poor option. read more
