Autobody Alternatives in modesto were hired to paint my car and my fathers. The manager came to…read moreour houses and gave us an estimate for each car and stated they would both be done by the first of 2025.They started my dads car first and had it from sept 2024 to mid February. My car went in the second week of January 2025. When we checked my dad's car. After it was painted, we found over thirty two blemishes,Nibs, drips and scratches in the new paint. When we questioned them about it, they said, that's what you paid for. We then found that they do not have a paint booth. They paint in an open bay shop. I spoke with several of their employees, and they confirmed this. After a lengthy argument with management they finally decided to fix the paint when legal action and epa would be notified,But refused to put the chrome on. The body man said they didn't know how to put the chrome on the car. After a second time inspecting the car, we found that there were still several nibs runs and scratches on the new paint job. They finally agreed to fix it, but told me to remove my car that they no longer wanted my business. That they did not have the capability to paint a car to the level that was expected. ( a paint job without runs nibs and scratches) When i got my car back home. I was unable to open up the passenger side door, the body man had adjusted the fenders, too close. I found two broken bolts in the fenders, i supplied a brand new kit of bolts and they were in place but upon inspection I found random bolts were put in their place. After further inspection of my dad's car and checking the work that they fixed. We found more drips and scratches. The rearbumper that was install did not have the brackets in place and random bolts we're put in mounting it with a 3" gap on one side and a 1/4 gap on the other. The front bumper was also installed Incorrectly, with the wrong bolts and brackets. there were scratches on the lower valance. We were able to fix and adjust all mounting errors with little effort but the paint remains sub par. i'm sure that this business will say otherwise but luckily all conversations were videotaped or record. EPA, BBB and local agencies are being contacted. Do not take your to this place . You would get a better job at home in a garage!

I went to other shops in town, and nowhere have I had service like this. Great shop and although I decided on going a different direction, I will come to this place in the future Update: Stopped by On Sept 23rd, and talked to Javier again to see about installing a replacement door and fender for my Tahoe. My passenger door and fender were pretty worn down and he said he can do the work needed to replace and install the 2 huge parts. I decided to buy the parts myself and have his guys install it. He gave me a quote and I said let's do it. He said come in Monday morning. Now, unlike other body shops where you get the run around or have to call back to "see if theirs an opening" or body shops forgetting about your appointment,... None of that happened here! Arrived Mon the 28th and he said he may need all day and possibly tomorrow morning. I said "keep it a week." I've had the damage for over a year and I can wait a few more days.... Close to 4pm, same day, I get a call saying..."it's ready to pick up!!!" If that's not EXCELLENT service, especially for a body shop, I don't know what is. I will trust Javier and his crew with all and any FUTURE body work, paint, full paint jobs, or anything having to do with his shop. His shop will be the first one I call!

Was recommended by another business a few yrs ago when I bought a used Hyundai, & had all kinds of problems with it from the get go, & recently the right side corner of the bumper was breaking off, so I was soo grateful for their recommendation. Mike is nice as can be, professional & knows his business for sure AND EXTREMELY HONEST about pricing. Can't tell you how much that means to me, and as a senior that means everything. I finally took it to Mike, he took a look at it underneath & said the frame was in good shape & all I needed was an upper bumper. Being a woman my knowledge about cars is limited & also how was I to know what it needed or not?? He could have said the frame was bad & he could have charged me for that too, but he didn't, I trusted Mike wholeheartedly. He gave me a fair price I could work with & that meant a lot to me. Got my car back in two days as promised, & looks just amazing! I am extremely grateful to you Mike & your great team, you are theee BEST! My car looks brand new & the painted upper bumper looks a heck of alot better than the original paint on my car! Thanks again Mike!!!

Horrible experience.. Took an insurance job to him…read more(referral) n he proceeded to not only overbill but has continued to falsely give us completion dates n failed each time to finish. Just spoke with him today n he proceeded to further lie telling me car is in booth getting painted now (something he has already lied about previously) n he said that it "should" be completed tomorrow. Should have been done long ago. My wife has now been without a car as enterprise came n took car 8 days ago in middle of the night because I could no longer afford to pay daily rental (insurance would only cover the standard estimated completion time for rental) n they have banned me from ever renting again with them. I am beyond mad n cannot fathom how businesses like these remain open n act like they are professionals when meeting them in the beginning. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Mike Webb to anyone unless you like being lied to n caused problems. Id give zero stars if possible!
