How were they at administering the novacaine? Would they inject too much and leave my mouth numb for hours? Would they do a good job? These thoughts plagued me all day. Thoughts of cancelling entered my mind more than once. But I decided to brave the unknown. Jose, a dental hygienist, asked me to come in and apologized for the wait which was only about 15 min. He was really nice, explained everything that was going to happen and then he said something that made my day! "We are not going to use a needle to numb you, we are going to use a gel to numb your gums" WHAT???? Was I hearing correctly??? A short time later I realized I had heard correctly as he administered the numbing agent. Jose was great. He even gave me his blue balls to squeeze.....his blue stress balls that is. He did an amazing job with the cleaning. As I sat there during my cleaning I can hear how the staff interacted with the other patients and again everyone is so nice. They made the scheduling process easy and continued to provide excellent customer service when I arrived for my appointment. The office has parking in a garage, which can be a little tricky to find the first time, but there is plenty of garage parking as well as street parking nearby. I was greeted immediately, the wait was minimal, and the office was exceptionally clean with a comfortable reception area. My dental hygienist, Polo, was outstanding. He was thorough, thoughtful, professional, and took the time to explain everything. The office uses modern technology, including digital X-rays taken right at the chair with the images displayed on a monitor so you can see everything in real time and ensure they are accurate. It takes a lot for me to write a review for a dental office, but this experience exceeded my expectations. This was a year ago. I've been back about three times since then to repair a detached crown and another filling on one of my molars. Each visit has been just as comforting as my first visit. The office layout is cozy and calming; the reception/waiting area is on the first floor, and the dental work is all done on the second floor. I felt like I was at home. The staff made me feel so comfortable, and I love that there's a cool rock vibe with the music. I've always been one to avoid the Dentist, for obvious reasons. But, I've only had positive experiences with Grove Smiles, and this is why Dr. Dargham will remain my favorite dentist of all time!
