This was necessary in our case as my dental insurance policy only covers "NHS treatment". The advisor at the reception desk reiterated after confirming with other colleague that this is indeed an "NHS treatment". After getting the assurance we decided to go ahead with the treatment that lasted over few months. After completing the treatment, I tried to reimburse the money using my insurance policy and they informed me that a full payment of the treatment can not be issued because this is not an "NHS treatment". After this I called the dental practice again and this time the advisor told me that the treatment I underwent is classed as "non-essential treatment and not an NHS treatment". This was completely opposite to what we were told at the beginning of the treatment. They simply shrug off their responsibility by saying oh you have signed the form! However, before signing the forms we did ask them twice to clarify if this was an NHS treatment or not and they did confirm that it's an NHS treatment. This "U" turn from their side means that I cannot reimburse the treatment money. Not only that but the quality of the treatment itself was questionable. For example, during my first treatment which should have only lasted for 30 minutes (again that is the time advised by them) it took them over an hour to complete the treatment. The reason being lack of adequate equipment which they had to share between the different rooms in this practice. Not only that but the assistant had no clue of what equipment was being requested by the Dr. carrying out the surgery and hence was bringing in a different equipment every time.

I had a problem with my front tooth since this awful dentistry I had 12 years ago. I had many things done to rectify the problem but never really solved I then found Dr Deepti Varanasi , and what a treasure she has been. I had other teeth problems and extraction and they were all done with such care . July this year Dr Varanasi replaced a front crown that just did not sit right . It was done with such care and attention , and time to get this tooth just right . The attention to detail was first class. I was always asked throughout the procedure was I comfortable . I can not praise Dr Deepti Varanasi enough so a big , big thank you for your expertise and kindness I must mention Kay the Dental nurse who suggested Dr Varanasi to me and has been there on many of my procedures and has been marvellous too , big thank you to you . Not forgetting reception staff especially Sara who I have known for a long time now and is always so helpful. Must not forget Cherelle on reception. Unfortunately after spending 12 months living in India and South East Asia (and drinking a fair amount of sweetened masala chai each day) I came back to find out I needed 5 fillings - ouch! So it's with this in mind that every trip to the dentists is now a case of "God I hope this is just a quick in and out affair" and luckily it has been since the initial painful seatings! Manchester Dental Practice is situated just above the Ruby Lounge on the high street and the staff are always pretty friendly, the dentists and assistants are always pretty young guys and up for a chat/laugh. I've never has any problems with bookings here and you can change an appointment with 48 hours notice without being charged. They also have a hygienist that you can see at the same time as check ups if you book in advance!

My dentist was friendly and professional, as was his assistant. His advice on maintaining dental health was realistic and achievable, ie. you don't need to quit sugar just reduce how regularly you have sugary foods and drinks; try to floss 3x a week if you can't do it every day. He also didn't try to talk to me while I couldn't speak, which my old dentist always did, so annoying! Reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall it was about as good a trip to the dentist as you could hope for!

I was in incredible pain, and was dubious that id be able to find a dentist that would accept me - i thought id have to wait until i was home and then make an appointment there. As i say, they were able to see me at short notice and i found the dental practice to be quite a relaxing place and the dentist that i saw put me at my ease. After about 40 minutes of dental work my condition was stabilised and i was out of pain and able to continue my trip. I have had dentists in the past who have said they "need to get on with it as they do have other patients!"
