I heard a lot of great things about this specific dental office, so I called them and asked if they accept my specific health insurance plan. It was important for me to pay as little as possible due to money currently being tight and limited, and the receptionist who I spoke to communicated very clearly. I often got text messages informing me of my appointment status, which included any important updates, so communication is very efficient in this office. The day of my appointment, I rang a doorbell for the door to unlock and then I went in. The lady at the front was very friendly and approachable. I did not have to wait long for my appointment, and the waiting room was very neat and well organized. The dentist that I had, Doctor NG, was very solid. I wouldn't describe him as a dentist with all too much personality or energy, but he was very thorough and skilled when taking care of my teeth, which included an examination of my x-rays, as well as cleaning and polishing my teeth. He even referred me to a list of periodontists because of how bad my gums were, which isn't surprising considering that this was my first time ever stepping foot at a dental office. When I was finished with my first initial appointment, I asked about cost, and the same lady clearly informed me about how much of my appointment my specific insurance plan covers, and that they would notify me ahead of time if I had to pay out of pocket. This once again shows her strength of communication and friendly customer service. I didn't get the chance to meet most of the other doctors that so many people speak highly about, but this was a very decent first visit, with communication and clarity being some particularly great parts about my appointment.

I walked in to make an appointment on November 10, 2024 to make an appointment for a check ip and broken tooth. The THING at the front desk asked me for my SS# to verify my insurance. I refused and explained they removed SS#'s from the ID card more than a decade ago for patient privacy. I gave her my card which states ON IT "Aetna Medicare DENTAL". We made the appointment for today November 17th at 1pm. I walk in and give the THING (Young African American girl with long hair and too much perfume)--Unfortunately I need to list this to ID her because she refused to give me her name. She pulls up my appointment and starts telling me she was not "able to verify my insurance because I did nit give her my SS#." I told her that does not sound right because Aetna themselves told me there is no separate dental #. NOW--if that were the case--that she could not verify my insurance--Why did't se call me to get it worked out? When I asked her as much, she said "Because I already told you I needed your SS#. " So I said "so you thought nothing of wasting my time to come here and did not think to call me"? She said "that's your problem"--COULD YOU IMAGINE???? I asked her to call them now and she refused and began raising her voice with the most unprofessional attitude and manner of speaking! I asked her to lower her voice because I can certainly yell too. I got on the phone with Aetna who told me AETNA WILL NEVER ACCEPT A PATIENT'S SS# TO VERIFY INSURANCE--Because THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED to! So I told THING as much and told her the rep wanted to speak with her to wish she said for me to "have a seat in the waiting room because I'm busy right now" I reminded her I have Aetna on the phone and she said she couldn't talk to them anyway because "they need verification in writing"---Didn't she just say she CALLED them to verify? Then comes the Dr. who pretty much told me to have a seat and apparently thought the manner in which THING spoke to me was acceptable. Didn't get his name either because no one in that office wears name tags (First time ever I see THAT) but it makes sense! He said he'd be happy to see me if I were to pay upfront. I explained I am on SSD and don't have that type of money at hand and proceeds to tell me there are plenty of other dentists. I asked him if he thought the way his THING spoke to me was acceptable and he just shrugged his shoulders. COWARD! At this point, I still had Aetna on the phone who heard EVERYTHING!! --Poor lady was horrified! The experience caused me an anxiety attack and I filed a formal complaint with Aetna against Bayside Dental Group. The woman from Aetna was very helpful and said not to worry --I did not need anyone's name and she will document what she heard. I walk home and ran into two of my neighbors who stopped me because I was visibly upset... I explained the situation and get THIS--This office PAID people to write the couple of "good" reviews they have. I am embarrassed to have such a DISGUSTING practice so close to my home. HORRENDOUS!!!!!!! The man named Dr. D who works alongside Seema and is responsible for my temporary…read more(and presumably permanent) crowns is nothing short of DEMONIC. This DEMON is shockingly unprofessional, brash, and outright aggressive. The temporary crowns he installed are not only excruciatingly painful but are also an eyesore--several shades darker and yellower than the rest of my teeth. To make matters worse, the work is a complete disaster: glue and cement were sloppily smeared across surrounding teeth, left to fester in the crevices like a botched art project by someone who clearly has no business in dentistry. The temporary crowns did not even last an entire week before falling off! Even worse, I was NEVER informed what this procedure Seema demanded I undergo for a tiny hairline crack on one tooth entailed. This butcher SHAVED DOWN both of my front teeth into miniature stubs without informing me this is what she planned to do. I NEVER agreed or would have agreed to this procedure had I been informed what it entailed or was. The man she had do it, DR. D, was extremely rough and violent with me thrashing my head and neck around to the point I am in severe pain and deeply emotionally traumatized a week later. I will be reporting both of them and this practice to the New York State Office of Professional Discipline if I am not refunded the $600 I was charged as a down payment. I do not trust this woman or her co-dentist anywhere near my mouth. I regret letting her destroy my teeth, my health, and my sanity. Not to mention, when I informed her that her poorly made and applied temporary crowns fell off, she made no effort to put them back in despite it being a dental emergency. My gums? I was physically attacked by Dr Radmila Shuminov, in the middle of an appointment at Bright White Dental in Fresh Meadows. I had an appointment to have a crown put in, scheduled for 10am on 2/1 with Dr. Shuminov and I waited for over an hour. Apparently, the office did not know I had an appointment even though they sent me a confirmation text the day before. In the waiting room, I wrote a review that said "the dentists are fine but wait time is abysmal, this place doesn't use a calendar.". I was seen by a different dentist than the one who did the first part of the procedure. I was sitting alone in the middle of my appointment, waiting for the crown to set. I hear a lot of racket and Dr. Radmila Shuminov runs in yelling about this review. She was followed by the office manager who kept insisting Dr Shuminov should stop and calm down. Dr Shuminov was shouting and motioning like she was ready to fight me in a schoolyard, and then she grabbed the dental drill in one hand and thrust her other hand at my face several times, shouting "lean back!" and insisted that she would take over for the other dentist, so that I could "get out and good riddance". It was my belief that she was trying to use her position as a dentist to inflict physical harm on me because she was in an extremely agitated state. It took a lot of effort to maintain my composure but I kept repeating that I felt unsafe allowing her to work on me and after repeating myself 3 times, Dr. Shuminov relented. At one point I pulled my phone out of my pocket and wanted to call the cops but I thought Dr. Shuminov would attack me with the drill if I did. She said that this was my fault because I left a review about her and she couldn't leave a review about me. She also screamed at me about my wife's medical and appointment history even though my wife was not present. Dr. Shuminov said my wife could find a different dentist to do the work she required as well, and stormed out. Dr. Shuminov rushed out of the office immediately after this incident and shouted "sorry I freaked out but it is what it is" on her way out the door. Dr. Singh came in immediately and tried to be apologetic, kind, and understanding on behalf of the practice. He finished installing the crown. He asked me if there was anything he could do to make up for the incident and make it right and I told him that if he's ever asked about what happened, he could answer truthfully, and it would be enough. I filed a police report and written complaints with 2 relevant state agencies. It is my belief that Dr. Shuminov should lose her license to practice dentistry.
