I was referred to Queensboro Oral Surgery & Associates by my dentist for a consultation about…read morereplacing a tooth I had extracted. I've been putting off getting an implant for a while because I wanted to carefully weigh my options, especially since implants can be expensive. I finally decided to schedule a consultation, and the process was very easy. The receptionist took my insurance information over the phone and scheduled me for the next available appointment. On the day of my visit, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. They took a panoramic X-ray and thoroughly explained the implant procedure, what to expect during surgery, the healing process, and the long-term benefits of replacing the missing tooth. Since I already know that missing a tooth can cause surrounding teeth to shift, I appreciated how informative they were about preventing future dental issues. I was also very upfront about being nervous. I've had root canals, wisdom teeth extractions, fillings, and other dental procedures over the years, and dental work has always made me anxious. The staff was kind, patient, and reassuring, even though this visit was only a consultation. They explained that local anesthesia would be included with the procedure, while IV sedation would be an additional out-of-pocket expense since insurance doesn't cover it. Before I left, the secretary came over to my chair to discuss my insurance benefits. She explained that my primary insurance would cover 50% and my secondary insurance would cover the remaining 50%, which led me to believe the procedure would essentially be covered in full, aside from any non-covered expenses like sedation. Because of that, I felt comfortable waiting for the prior authorizations before making my final decision. A short time later, I received an email from my primary insurance showing what they approved, and it listed that I would still be responsible for $1,117.50. I wasn't overly concerned at first because I assumed my secondary insurance authorization was still being processed and would cover the remaining balance, just as I had been told during my consultation. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of what happened afterward. When I called the office to ask about the secondary insurance authorization, I was surprised to learn it had never been submitted. Instead of acknowledging the oversight or apologizing for the delay, I was simply told they would process it and that it would take about two more weeks. That was disappointing because I had specifically explained that I wasn't comfortable scheduling surgery until I knew exactly what my financial responsibility would be. I don't think patients should have to call back to make sure paperwork that was promised is actually being completed. At this point, I still won't schedule the implant until I know exactly what my out-of-pocket costs will be. Overall, my consultation experience was excellent. The oral surgeon and staff I interacted with during my visit were professional, informative, compassionate, and made me feel at ease. My only complaint is the lack of follow-through with my insurance paperwork, which unfortunately delayed my treatment. I hope this was simply an isolated oversight because my experience in the office itself was otherwise very positive.

I told her about my nerves and she was very kind and patient in explaining my situation, treatment options, and the potential side effects. Stephanie at the front desk was also very helpful, as were the two women who performed my X-rays and scheduled my follow-up appointment (I unfortunately didn't get their names!) I left with a great impression of the office. Even though surgery was ruled out for the time being, I'd feel fully comfortable and confident in moving forward with Dr. Dourmas and her excellent staff if that becomes necessary in the future.

Extractions, bone implants, sinus lifts, abscess treatments and probably more than I'm even aware of, Dr Hoschander has been the most amazing surgeon I've ever been to and even though I no longer live in the Kew Gardens Hills area, I will never stop seeing him for my surgical needs. His assisting staff is always top notch professional and kind and Christine his front line manager/assistant is beyond amazing. Give this young lady a super raise!!!!!! On a personal note, my mom who has since passed was Dr Hoschanders patient for many years and after suffering from devastating bone/tooth/facial trauma, he put her back together again. She loved him dearly and spoke highly of him to everyone. She truly loved him. He saved her. I will never forget his compassion, friendship and care for my mom as long as I live.

Had one appt for the Family on Friday June 26th, but on Monday my tooth split...they got me in early Thursday at 9am only to find out that the clinic not open until 10am, I bounced between 2 different Doctors to only be told they cant do anything until Tuesday the 30th so I book the appt what a complete waiste of a day and continued to be in pain. They did give me a prescription for antibiotics and ibuprofen. Friday comes and with the rest of the family went ok, it was a wait and it was 3 family members at the same time to be expected. Today June 30th I show up to my Appt on time at noon, thinking ok, they know what needs to be done lets go...1 hr into it they took more x-ray than on Thursday and once again had me bouncing around from right door, left door, right door. Then said for the tooth removal was 750.00 out of pocket when I know my insurances covered this...felt stupid for paying but then 2hrs go by and now I've asked them what the wait time was...we dont know...asked for a refund which they voided but I really felt uncomfortable by this time ans so glad I got out of there. Very disappointed since im still in pain...still have a broken tooth and I just wanted it fixed.

I didn't have a choice because I didn't know what it was. The dentist himself as crooked as he is came in and try to convince me to remove 2 wisdom so they can charge me 2500 extra fee and charge my insurance. After the procedure I call Healthfirst and I was told that extra treatment was not necessary and it was a choice that's why they don't cover . I Check online the cost for that treatment called D7922 is 100-250 the most because it's just a cotton pad added not a surgery . I was charged 1250 for something most dental office charge 250 max for. On top of that they charge my card credit 1500 instead of 1250 and I had to argue that too. Please don't go to this place and make sure u research every treatment they are offering u before u pay out of pocket . The nurses are professionally trained to lie and get patients To sign for things at a higher price. I do not recommend this place at all it was my first time and I will never return . They need 0 star . A bunch of thieves . That dental code D7922 cost is not $1250 and they keep saying that is their fee. They are literally ripping off patients... I have asked to explain to me what make their prices so high they are not able that saying that's our price . Please be aware of this place and they pricing to extort patients. How a patient sign for 1250 and u make a mistake of entering number and put 1500 ? It does not make any sense. They are scam and need to be investigated for their exaggerated pricing

Location: the clinic is along Woodhaven Blvd. The clinic is huge and clean. I felt like this is new facility cause its very clean and well maintained. I got street parking cause there is a lot of residential areas nearby. Checkin: You have to check in on the desk, I made apppointment by phone so it was easy to checkin. I have to wait for like an hour to be called for my procedure. Employee: Dr. Cardo is very professional, explains well the condition and treatments. He will show you to the monitor the teeth that has problem, the treatment and the after care. Again, I didn't experience any pain during procedure which is great. The employees are well known and informative about the case. They will give you health teaching before you leave. My only concern is that during your procedure the door is widely open, so people might see what they are doing to your mouth. I'm not sure if that's the protocol on the clinic but it's not bad to have a little privacy specially with dental procedures. Definitely will come back here for future treatments! Dr. Cardo helped me remove my impacted wisdom tooth.

Dana was very patient and I appreciate her looking out for me especially since I'm nervous Nelly. I felt no pain other than a little soreness and a tad swelling but otherwise I lived another day. My choice of pain meds when needed was, Advil Dual..you can find them on Amazon. They reacted better to my body and not make me nauseous or dizzy. Otherwise everything else is great. I would definitely recommend anybody to get their tooth extracted by this facility especially with Dr. Kalman. Thank you again!
