Top-notch care! I found Dental Express, after experiencing inconsistent and low quality care from another dental professional. I needed someone who was on top of my care needs and who had hours that worked with my busy work schedule. As a former USAF Medic, who worked in patient care, I was pleasantly surprised with the staff of Dental Express. The staff is so friendly and diligent about contacting their patients with appointment reminders. They have been helpful and accommodating with me, as I work at a job where my shifts sometimes change unexpectedly. I work in customer service (the airlines) and see hundreds of guests a day; and I know how important it is to genuinely care about each person I interact with. I absolutely love the kindness and respect each member of the Dental Express staff has shown me, over the 2 years. My appointments have not just been for cleanings, but for other dental issues I've had. Dr. Jamie is so personable, and funny; he feels like a friend you've known for years. He is thorough in explaining what he is doing along the way, and always makes a point to encourage me to speak up if I have any discomfort, throughout the procedure. I commend him and his team for their bedside manner, and for making each patient feel like a friend. From my point of view, the team seems to love their job, they care about their patients and endeavor to give their patients the best care from beginning to end. A shout out to Erika. This is my 2nd time I am posting about this place, I'm still coming and it keeps getting better. As I sit in the waiting room for my appointment I watched these two ladies who ran the front desk Nancy and Marina, handling calls, not only were they prompt at answering the calls these ladies were extremely polite. I know that may not be something people look for in a dentist but for myself the first people I encounter is the front desk and getting a positive vibe helps my outlook from the get go and just makes everything seem to go smoother. Why I feel this is something to review is because customer service has fallen short and is not always the best. I have to say that this is probably the best dentist office I've been to in my 60 years. They fix what you don't like, you are seen within a week or two, they communicate to you about everything that is happening and make sure you are happy when you leave and your treatment is complete. It took me a few days to write this review because I'm in shock that such a good experience with a dentist office can turn so poor so quickly. I scheduled my initial consultation on 11/4 with Dr. Jamie. He and his assistant Nereus were so professional and thorough. I scheduled a rather large procedure that would require some recovery for 12/31. I am a business owner and need at least a month to clear my schedule of clients. I received a call from the office to come in for a rescan on 12/10. Nereus informed me that he would have everything in office from the lab by 12/23 for my 12/31 appointment. Fast forward to the Day before my procedure and I called the office to remind them that I have not received a required prescription to take before the procedure. The front desk seemed confused and I was transferred to a manager. This manager, Enisa, flippantly told me that I would have to reschedule my appointment for the following week. I explained that this was not possible due to my work schedule and that this had been on the books for at least 5 weeks. After waiting all day for a return call, I received a text at 4:30 p.m. with no solution. She begrudgingly told me that nothing was ever sent to the laboratory. Unfortunately, I was given no option other than to reschedule for the end of the following week. No matter how many times I told her that it would be at least a month before I would be able to reschedule. The only options were to cancel everything all together or reschedule the following week. I couldn't believe no other options were available to me and that I could not get any resolution. When I asked to speak to the doctor or his assistant, she told me they already knew and were just fine with it. It is shocking that the patient's time means absolutely nothing to this office. read more

I called this place and I told them I need my six month cleaning. I'm a new patient. I book an appointment and when I get to my appointment, they can't give me a cleaning. They find something wrong. Give me a bill for $4000 and then tell me they don't have time for my cleaning after they're already behind. Before I even enter the office, the person on the phone was very nice. I entered the office, the decor and the front area was so nice and clean. And all the ladies at the front desk had excellent customer service skills, with a smile, I was lead back to my room by another nice lady, who answered all my questions and gave me a lot of information as well. And my Dr,Jimmy was extremely helpful and nice and informative. And that room was clean and the layout was nice too. The Dentist was very straight forward and I was given a few options as to what to do next. I never felt just another person to grab the money and move on. I don't recommend this office. I had amalgam fillings and then had Dr. Ferguson change my fillings to composite material which was not done correctly. Most of the fillings still have amalgam in it and 3 now require a root canal. I wish I would have done more research and not have let Dr. Ferguson do everything under a short amount of time. read more

I hadn't gone to the dentist in a while but my dental hygiene has been good. The service was great! I have a friend who actually works there, Nikki, she did my teeth cleaning and she was so gentle and checks in to make sure you're comfortable! The dr that is there is also very friendly and makes sure you are doing okay while they are doing their work. Everyone is so nice at this location ! I do not recommend this place!!!! I scheduled a cleaning 3 weeks in advance, arriving at my appointment 10 minutes early so everything was ready. I waited for them to pass me and everything was fine, the assistant told me to relax and wait, 50 minutes passed and the assistant returned telling me that she didn't know until what time they were going to see me, that she had 4 or 5 patients before me, she told me If I want to wait, they don't know how long the wait will be, so if I want, I can schedule an appointment another day. They could have told me that before entering and I would have understood it, but they told me that since I was sitting there waiting in a room that had not finished adapting it. I just called this establishment for more information on the practice for a family member . R U N ! Unprofessional! I Couldn't even make it past the initial phone call I can only imagine the mess there! And no it was not an answering service they're open on Saturdays and this person works there! Fortunately for me I am blessed to be able to afford any dentist I want yep! But..... You should definitely proceed with caution with this business... First off: I feel sorry for people who are forced into situations due to their insurance or financial status ( for example this office takes medi -cal/ denti cal) And they have to put up with dental offices like this one. I will never allow my friend or family member to become a patient here but for people who do not have someone to advocate for them this is just sad! No matter your situation you deserve respect and dignity always! The person who answered the phone today does not know how insurance works which is a red flag for me ( It was as if she was pretending to know and mouthing off) she was instantly rude from the moment she answered the phone looking for confrontation! She also does not know who they refer out to when an issue arises that cannot be completed in their office.... what? Another red flag! (Of course they do you have a list! Every office does! They cant be disorganized like that... or are they! ... ? The dentist and nurses are really nice, respectful, and know how to do their job. I am giving this company 3 stars because the receptionists at this company are terrible. They kept messing up my appointment dates. When my daughter had an appointment to see the dentist there they said she didn't have an appointment that day when she did have an appointment that day. Then when my daughter didn't have an appointment a certain day they would say she did when she didn't. Also my daughter asked the receptionist if she needed any pain pills after getting dental surgery done, and the receptionist said she doesn't need it. Also when she was in pain we did have to give her pain pills despite the receptionist saying she doesn't need it. I recently moved to Escondido and had been going to a Dental Express location in San Diego, so I was happy to see that they had an office in the area too! I was pleasantly surprised by how nice everyone was (dare I say one of the best services I've received at any Dental Express location), from the front desk to the dentist himself! I get really nervous during dental appointments and they did everything they could to make me feel comfortable. They really walked me through my appointment and took the time to make sure I understood my insurance and what it was covering. Even though my mouth was numb at the end, I still left with a smile on my face! I visited the Escondido location and was immediately greeted by Ale at the front and she guided me through the different forms I needed to complete, super easy! Went in today for the first time because I was in PAIN & the whole staff was amazing. The two ladies in the front were very sweet & welcoming. Omar did an amazing job on my cleaning & preparing me for my root canal, he always paused to ask if I was ok & was very attentive to everything I needed & said. If you don't understand anything they will make sure to explain clearly so that you do. Dr. was awesome as well I didn't even feel it when he numbed me up & that's hard to say dealing with me lol. They do not work with small kids teeth the front staff was very nice. With an appointment they took about 2 hours they did nothing to my 4 yr old that just needs a sealants. Of course they took him in and took X-rays of his teeth and said no you have to go somewhere else. They should tell you before hand when u call that they don't do toddlers teeth. read more
