I want to share with you my dental experience with other readers in hopes that it will maybe prevent someone else from being hurt like I was by this dentist. I am not one to complain or write negative reviews. This is my first. A friend of mine works for a dentist here in Norman. She talked me into seeing her and I went for an exam on Wednesday afternoon. The dentist said that I have an abscess and need 2 root canals in adjoining teeth. She stated that she doesn't do root canals but the endodontist next door does. I left her office and went next door to see if they could fit me in and they were closed. I finally was able to make an appt for June 8. After being in pain all night Friday night and not being able to see the endodontist for several weeks, my husband suggested that I go to Dental Depot in Moore because it's in network and they are open on Saturdays. Our family has used them in the past in Moore and also in South OKC and did ok. I agreed reluctantly because I wanted the pain to stop. I saw Dr. Ryan Boles. I got in and the hygienist numbed me up with shots. They hurt but I handled it without any problems. You could not ask for a more compassionate assistant or hygienist who administered injections. Then Dr. Boles came in and started drilling and hit a nerve and I raised my left hand. He shot more shots and he left for over an hour with me on gas. The assistant finally turned it to oxygen. Then he came back started drilling and he hit a nerve and at the same time that I raised my left hand I jerked a bit out of protective reflex. It actually startled me that I did that. My face was just soaked from tears from hitting the nerve. He was livid and rude. He yelled "don't don't ever do that or I won't treat you. I mean it don't ever do that again. You could give me a disease that you have. He then said that "pain is part of medical treatment and that I needed to accept pain. If you want I'll just stop right now! You need sedation!" I said yes please.To be honest I was hurting so badly and it happened so quickly that I was startled it happened and that this guy was having a tirade. I guess he was doing an interpulpal injection into the pulp-which is known to be very painful and cause a startle reaction. I had no idea since he didn't explain anything at all to me. He said the root canal might not even save the tooth anyway! He stomped out. The nurse hugged me and said "I am so sorry. It wasn't your fault. It was a reflex from the nerve. You didn't do anything wrong. That tooth is just HOT from the infection" By this time I am sobbing. She had to get him to come back and put in a temp filling in. The asst. kept saying it wasn't my fault and that the tooth was "so hot" You would think that for several thousand dollars he could have some chairside manner. I left feeling degraded, victimized and humiliated. I have dental work done in the past (fillings and wisdom teeth extractions) throughout my adult life and never felt drilling or intense pain like this. This wasn't pressure. It was shooting, sharp, excruciating pain. I know the difference now. I felt like someone being operated on with no anesthesia. It doesn't take anyone long to research that the cause of the pain was the infection surrounding my tooth that rendered it unable to numb. Another thing that was very disturbing is that when I walked out to my car and my face was numb from my chin to my nostrils and I pushed on the gum where the infection was puffy over the tooth and I could feel the toothache when I pushed. That tooth was no where near dead! Yet, this dentist wanted to blame me for his incompetence for doing a root canal that they advertised being experts at! I have never in my life been treated so rudely by a licensed professional. His comments were insensitive, inappropriate and incorrect. He acted as if he was too good and above the patients that he treats. I am not sure if he just is unhappy with his contract or he truly could care less about the patient. Regardless, it is my opinion that he is not suitable to work on human beings, or animals for that matter. Do yourself and your family a favor and go somewhere else! read more

He went back in and talked to them and when he said that the dentist had said that I might give him a disease. The asst. Managers response was......"Well does she?" For the record, no I do not! I recently had both a cleaning and a set of fillings done at Dental Depot, and I wanted to share my thoughts about my experiences. When I initially went in for a cleaning, I was genuinely impressed by the level of communication and the welcoming atmosphere. The staff made an effort to ensure I felt relaxed and comfortable, which significantly eased my anxiety I had about the appointment. It was a positive experience, and I felt valued. However, my perspective changed of dental depot when I returned for my first set of fillings. I was quite nervous about the procedure. Unfortunately, during this visit, I didn't have the same positive experience in terms of communication and patient care. There was very minimal communication throughout the procedure, not even the typical "how are you doing?" conversation like my previous visit. I understand the importance of efficiency in business, but for someone who was already nervous, the lack of communication made me feel even more uncomfortable. I used nitrous oxide during the filling procedure to help alleviate my anxiety, unfortunately it didn't seem to help. Additionally, I wasn't even provided after care instructions. What disappointed me the most was the failure to build a rapport and a sense of trust during the filling procedure. For me, I find it to be a crucial part to establish a connection or rapport, Unfortunately, i didn't get that and I felt on edge throughout the entire process. read more

I had a terrible experience at this location. They have horrible communication when it comes to appointments and reminders, especially once you're no longer a patient. They also refuse to fix dental work that I paid for. Their lack of response to the BBB is concerning, and the corporate office just adds to the frustration by calling me to say I could still be seen. To make matters worse, they spread negative feedback to other dental offices, causing me to lose my appointment after taking time off work. The manager needs to learn how to legally dismiss a patient, as my access to appropriate care has been severely reduced due to my working hours. Avoid this place at all costs. read more
