She found Iconic Dental and She was super happy with her experience so I figured I would give them a try. I had a bad experience with a dentist many years ago and because of it I experience high anxiety when going to the dentist. I spent many years avoiding the dentist. I have often been offered medication to help with the anxiety but I am not a big medication guy so for the last several years I have just uncomfortably dealt with it during visits, never really feeling at ease. I had my first appointment with Dr. James and Iconic today. I felt all the usual anxiousness on my drive there and while waiting for my turn. The staff was incredible and definitely eased some of my stress. Dr. James was fantastic. I was asked, more than once, if I was comfortable, ok, etc. After my appointment was complete, cleaning and all, I cannot explain the relief I felt. I was so comfortable in the office today and it may very well have been the best dentist appointment I have ever had. I think we have found our dentist.

She had my long-time medical insurance listed as "primary," and she kept referring to that as "primary" even after I told her that when I turned 65, Medicare (and any Medicare Advantage Plan) then became my "primary" insurance, and the older long-time medical insurance was now my "secondary" insurance. (I have had multiple times that a well-meaning clerk entered it incorrectly, switched around, and it caused a BIG MESS for ME to have to fix later.) I repeated a few times to clarify that the Medicare Advantage plan is now my "primary" and the old one my secondary. She had been a bit snippy throughout the call, and got more so as I repeated the Primary vs secondary situation, since she insisted on calling the old one "primary" ... She ended the call by saying "I got it!" in a short, rude, annoyed at me way, and then she basically hung up on me ... no thank you, good-bye, or any normal phone call etiquette closing. It makes me want to cancel my upcoming appt and NEVER go back there, but I need good dental work. I still feel like Iconic offers dependable dental care, but the office staff member who called seemed to be in a bad mood from the start and was just rude! It was my insurance company reps who told me, very clearly, to make sure they were always listed as "secondary," now, and that the Medicare/Medicare Advantage plans were always supposed to be listed as my "Primary" plan. It was a very unpleasant and unnecessary way to start the day. That experience, and after reading these negative comments here, I'm still considering quitting them for myself and family, and finding a dental practice that is not rude.
