My wife had an issue with a broken tooth and had to get a crown, we had recently moved and had been looking for our new dentist. She found Iconic Dental and She was super happy with her experience so I figured I would give them a try. I had a bad experience with a dentist many years ago and because of it I experience high anxiety when going to the dentist. I spent many years avoiding the dentist. I have often been offered medication to help with the anxiety but I am not a big medication guy so for the last several years I have just uncomfortably dealt with it during visits, never really feeling at ease. I had my first appointment with Dr. James and Iconic today. I felt all the usual anxiousness on my drive there and while waiting for my turn. The staff was incredible and definitely eased some of my stress. Dr. James was fantastic. I was asked, more than once, if I was comfortable, ok, etc. After my appointment was complete, cleaning and all, I cannot explain the relief I felt. I was so comfortable in the office today and it may very well have been the best dentist appointment I have ever had. I think we have found our dentist. read more

While I love this dental office, this morning, before 9 AM, I got a call from the woman making sure my insurance was all set for my upcoming appointment. She had my long-time medical insurance listed as "primary," and she kept referring to that as "primary" even after I told her that when I turned 65, Medicare (and any Medicare Advantage Plan) then became my "primary" insurance, and the older long-time medical insurance was now my "secondary" insurance. (I have had multiple times that a well-meaning clerk entered it incorrectly, switched around, and it caused a BIG MESS for ME to have to fix later.) I repeated a few times to clarify that the Medicare Advantage plan is now my "primary" and the old one my secondary. She had been a bit snippy throughout the call, and got more so as I repeated the Primary vs secondary situation, since she insisted on calling the old one "primary" ... She ended the call by saying "I got it!" in a short, rude, annoyed at me way, and then she basically hung up on me ... no thank you, good-bye, or any normal phone call etiquette closing. It makes me want to cancel my upcoming appt and NEVER go back there, but I need good dental work. I still feel like Iconic offers dependable dental care, but the office staff member who called seemed to be in a bad mood from the start and was just rude! It was my insurance company reps who told me, very clearly, to make sure they were always listed as "secondary," now, and that the Medicare/Medicare Advantage plans were always supposed to be listed as my "Primary" plan. It was a very unpleasant and unnecessary way to start the day. That experience, and after reading these negative comments here, I'm still considering quitting them for myself and family, and finding a dental practice that is not rude. read more

these people do not stand behind their work. customer service is terrible. they pulled my teeth then charged me out of pocket as well as my insurance. they lied about giving me a partial that I did not receive. they are crooks and don't care who's lives they destroy while padding their pockets read more

My elderly mother needed a new dentist. When she had an urgent matter come up, I told her to try the clinic in Walsenburg she had used years before and she saw a different dentist. They were very kind at the front desk and got her in a cancelation spot the day after she called. When she came out she was very upset and said she would never go back. She said the girl who took her back was kind and knowledgeable, and she thought she did a great job working on her teeth. However, she said the dentist, Dr. Carter, never introduced himself, nor did she ever see his face, he stayed behind her. She said his demeanor was very short. He simply told her it would cost her thousands of dollars to fix the problem more permanently while looking at the X-rays. She wanted to ask more questions, but she said he seemed annoyed to have to deal with her and left quickly after coming in, not so much as a hello or a nice to meet you through the whole encounter. I wish I had gone back with her, I'm not as timid and sweet as she is, and I really don't find it acceptable to be rude to the more vulnerable, so he would have heard from me. I was looking for a dentist closer to home, but we can both go to Trinidad where dentists treat you like a human being and appreciate you coming in for care, especially when it costs hundreds to thousands of dollars. read more

I never post bad reviews, but this time it has got me. I was Iconic Dental's patient for over three years. It was ok, most of the time. But last year I came with tooth pain, and it was old issue and it seemed like the tooth had to be gone. The tooth was under the bridge, so Dr. Evans had to cut the bridge in order to remove it. It was a bridge between two teeth with a gap in between. So bridge was cut. Then Dr.Evans convinced me to keep the tooth, even it wasn't good. He admitted, I would not be able to use it, but at least I will have appearance. I agreed, but after a year, it become unbearable and I came to pull the tooth in December last year. Dr. Evans agreed, this tooth must go. But this time, when he pulled the tooth, he didn't cut the bridge, instead he decided to pull the tooth with the bridge, and of course, he broke other tooth under the bridge. So instead of one, I lost two teeth of my very limited number of my natural teeth left. When I tried to complain today in the office, Dr.Evans told me he did cut the bridge before pulling the tooth, he said, the tooth was bad and that is why it broke. But he didn't cut the bridge, otherwise how could be the other tooth be broken by the bridge? I don't like when people do shortcuts, especially, when it is done on my account... read more

Tracy, my hygienist, is awesome. Doc Evan's is a caring dentist and spends just the right amount of time. He's conf and knowledgeable. Tyne lice is always very clean. The front office staff is also very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. These are things important to my confidence in a dentist. read more

I had some sensitivity in one tooth and it needed a filling. I called and they were able to get me in the same day due to a cancellation. While I was there, my husband reminded me I had this little cyst ball thing inside my lower lip that I wanted to have removed. Dr Evans said he could do it today also. The whole thing probably took less than 30 minutes. Dr Evans is a wonderful dentist and surgeon. I am so happy we found Iconic Dental. Very satisfied with all the dental care we have received over the last year or two we have been patients there. read more

I liked the staff and the Doctor was very nice. We are going back. I gave it 4 stars because it was my first visit and I thought we would at least be getting our cleanings completed the same day but instead we got scheduled for another day almost a month out to get the cleaning completed. read more

These guys are outstanding! From Jackie and Kay at the desk, who do a stellar job at billing to Dr. James and Melissa in the back, I cannot say I have seen more professional or skilled folks. And I have had a TON of dental work done by supposed dentists and oral surgeons. The implants they did were because of poor dentistry elsewhere and they did a great job. Don't expect painless but they try! I am allergic to epi so they have to work hard on me. This place is great. read more

The office can often take you without a wait, and everyone in the office is most cordial and friendly. I hate saying anything that they might not like, but I feel that honesty is most important in these reviews. Much of the work is done (in my experience) by non-dentist assistants. I thought the cost was surprisingly high (almost $300) for an hour of work, much of which was actually waiting. They use the technique of offering a "free" follow-up visit where not much happens, and then they suggest further visits that cost a lot of money for apparently not much work. I had a minor correction that was needed for the original work, but that was not done at the free follow-up visit, so for all practical purposes, it wasted several hours of my day. Many other reviews are 5-star reviews, so maybe I just got unlucky. I hope you are more satisfied. read more

I moved here from New Jersey, back in New Jersey Medicaid does not cover dental and the free clinic there only does extractions. So I suffered for over a year with a horrible tooth ache because I didn't want them to pull it and allow my other teeth to go crooked to fill the gap. When I was finally able to move here, the first thing I did was to go to Iconic Dental and asked them to remove the bothersom tooth and replace it with an implant. Dr. Shoff told me that other teeth were in bad shape too, so I should get them pulled and get one solid implant. medicaid would cover the extractions and I would cover the the implants. He maid it sound reasonable so I went with the plan. He told me to bring $3700.00 to my next visit and we will get started. I did, and he extracted 20 teeth and put in two tiny screws. It felt like I got hit in the face by a bus, I was swollen for over a week. Then I went in and they molded a set of dentures, he said Medicaid covers them and I can use them until I heal enough for the implants. The dentures were ill fitting, painful, I could not swallow siliva without choking and I coulndn't talk with them in. I went back 5 or 6 more time to try to get the dentures to work. finaly I told the doc that I will wait and just get the implants. He said that these are what I am getting and they will pop in and out and that I need another 900 dolars for the parts to go into the dentures. So I asked what was the 37 hundred dollars for? He said they were for the two screws he put in. I asked him why so much for two tiny screws, He said because they are titanium. I went home and Googled it, at the time of this writing, titanium is going for 26 dollars a pound. I would be surprised if both screws weigh mor than a gram, certainly not the 341 pounds that I paid for. I went back one more time to try to get the dentures to work so I would atleast have them. They still don't work. So much for my dream of biting into an apple again, or being able to eat better and live longer. Who wants to live in a money grubbing world with no compassion or human decency? I just gave up on it and never went back. They never called, not once to see how I was doing, because they just don't care. I met another guy who had the same experience at the same place, we share soft diet recipes and are thinking about forming the I Lost My Teeth at Iconic Club. Now I call it Ironic Dental, because I have no teeth. I'm writing this because I lay awake at night thinking about this and I feel stupid for allowing my teeth to be stolen and I look and feel hideous. I don't see how they can sleep at night. read more

Dr. Shoff and his staff are absolutely incredible. From the time you walk in the door till the moment you stumble out there is a smile on every face. Very caring and concerned for real, not because your a dollar sign in their eyes but because they really care from the heart. They were very nice and the dentist was very pleasant and did a good job. The problem we had was with the billing. We asked to girls at the front desk to check our dental insurance plan to make sure we were fully covered after paying out office visit copay. We were told it was covered. Two weeks later we got a bill and the office girl said it was the fault of the insurance. When I called the insurance they said the visit we had was coded so that we would have to pay more. I didn't understand so I paid the bill, then cancelled our upcoming dental appointments and cancelled our insurance. Next time when we go to any dentist I am told to ask for the codes first, then check those codes with the insurance to find out what is billed and what is covered. read more

These people changed my life. For whatever reason, if you're like me you've found yourself with a mouth full of teeth that need work. You mean well, but you're scared. It's ok, it really is. These people want to help you. They won't pry into how you got how you did, they'll just encourage you to let them make it right. Dr. Mike is a cool dude, professional and focused on your comfort - which he gets a gold star assist with from Saber. She's the real MVP of iconic dental. The first time I went in a was shaking like a leaf and tearing up from fear until I felt a hand on my shoulder and heard that calming voice. I don't even think she tries to be as calming as she is but for someone with a total phobia of dentists, she's the reason I keep coming back. I wish I could say exactly what I needed to in order to get whoever is reading this to go in and give them a chance but I just was able to take my Ma out to dinner and actually smile. The look on her face when she saw my teeth sealed the deal. I'm incredibly grateful to have this place available to me. read more
