This place is a well oiled machine! It was an amazing place from the second I walked in. The waiting room is decked out in Halloween decorations, the receptionist was friendly and the dental assistant that met with me before the dentist was very nice and pulled her mask down for me when she spoke. ( I'm hearing impaired) The dentist I saw was Dr. Meg Eber. She was absolutely amazing! She also pulled her mask down when speaking, was gentle when examining me, and she knew exactly what to do to help me. She extracted my tooth right away, making sure I was ok the entire time. She only treated the problem I came in for, as requested, and didn't criticize my dental hygiene. She made me so comfortable, I can't even believe it. I was done and out the door in 45 minutes. I highly recommend Dr. Eber, especially if you're like me, and hate going to the dentist. She's awesome! read more

I don't like dentists. I didn't take care of my teeth when I was younger, and because of that I have issues. No/thin enamel, cavities, crowns, crooked teeth, you name it. I've been shamed at the dentist before, and because of that, I have a bit of a phobia. Not one that keeps me from going, but one that makes me SO uncomfortable that my entire body tenses up and I clench my hands together when I'm in the dentist's chair. Going to the Dental Associates - Alsip was the best decision I've ever made. They made me comfortable, did not criticize the state of my teeth, and worked with me to create a plan to address the issues I haven't yet addressed (a couple surface cavities and the need for a bridge). They were kind, and found positive things to say (like that my cleaning routine was working well and I'd chosen the right toothpaste for my teeth (pronamel, btw!). My second visit to them was to fill 3 cavities. Dr. Wren performed this task in 29 minutes flat, and I didn't clench my hands or tense up a single time. He was gentle, kind, and just funny enough to not be obvious (I've had dentists before try to be comedians thinking it'd lighten the mood). If you're nervous to go to the dentist, go here. I was a patient of Dr. Wren's for years, mostly at his previous office on Cicero and only one appointment at the new Alsip location. Never had a problem. He was always a little rough with my teeth but I thought that's just how it felt to see a dentist (my husband said no that's not how it is supposed to feel; he thought Dr. Wren was way too rough with his teeth, he said he has never had a dentist be that rough with him before). I do not like how the new office has all the chairs in one open room only with dividers in between. Anyone walking by can see into the exam spaces (not private or even semi-private rooms) and see/hear the patient-provider interaction. It is not private at all. I don't know, it might just be me, but I would prefer to not be laying there with my mouth wide open with people walking by and hearing random conversations all around me and with my provider, distracting from my care. My real complaint is with the way a situation was handled recently involving their change to not accepting my dental insurance. I received a letter in the mail stating they were going to stop taking my insurance, yes. But I also knew the termination date was 01/31/19 so I scheduled mine and my husband's last appointments with them for the last 2 weeks of January (the only appointments they had available before the term date) to make sure we at least got our annual visits in before we were forced to switch dentists. I scheduled the appointments weeks in advance as they were booked for a long time. My husband had to take off of work to make the appointment. When he got there, they told him they no longer accept our insurance. I called our insurance and they said the term date wasn't until 01/31/19. When I called back to the dental office, they had switched their phones off and were gone for the day. My husband's appointment was the last of the day. So obviously he left without being treated. They flat out refused to take the insurance. Needless to say, I did not attend my appointment the following week. While on the phone with my dental insurance, they informed me of the recent calls made on my account included one by someone from the Dental Associates of Alsip on 11/07/18 who changed my primary dentist because they (Dental Assoc Alsip) are no longer contracted. They literally called my insurance and changed my dentist without my consent... they picked a random dentist in the general area and switched that dentist as my new primary dentist. I had no idea. I didn't know who this new dentist is or if I would even want to go there. I had no chance to check reviews etc. (When I got their letter of terming 01/31/19, I did try to change my dentist online (this was sometime back in October) but for whatever reason it didn't take/save/whatever online and I decided to wait until after my last 2 appointments with Dr. Wren to try again). To stop taking an insurance is one thing, completely understandable and every provider has the right to do so. But the way it was handled was ridiculously unprofessional. My appointments should have been honored and covered as they were within the window of time before the term date. And they had no right to call my insurance and change my provider without my consent. They ultimately changed it to a dentist I wasn't interested in seeing. I even called the new dentist and left a message requesting an appointment and was never called back; I believe their office is closed. So, Dental Assoc Alsip sent me to some random dentist who is not even open. Thanks a lot. This has been a complete headache and I am very disappointed with the way their office conducted business. Patients should not be treated like this. I've learned my lesson and am picking our new dentist based on the network providers with good Yelp reviews. I am tired of dealing with unprofessional office staff and rough dentists! I do not recommend this office to anyone. read more

How do you pick a dentist? Usually if you have insurance you check their website and find a dentist in the network. I didnt have insurance anymore because I was a casualty of the covid layoffs. So I checked the reviews and seen that Doctor Wren was a teacher it says in his bio. I thought well cant get better then that, so I tried them. The reason I left my other dentist was because he wanted to do a root canal to almost every tooth I had a problem with, it started to become a trust issue and also a monetary issue. Well my first visit started with evaluation and a couple fillings on some back teeth that the other dentist said I needed a root canal on, so I was relieved for now. Then he put some metal filling in my teeth, which I didnt want. he had to band the tooth around because filling extended thru to outside of tooth. Well when he filled my tooth it was like the filling was hardening already and he was trying to push it in to place with picks. Well it didnt fill flush. Them two teeth were bothering me with sharp edges cutting my tongue for weeks. Then when I stated I dont like that metal filling he wouldnt take the time to drill it out and refill it with the ceramic tooth color like filing. He ground the tooth and then topped it off with ceramic or whatever it is and now its not bothering me. Just dont want that metal crap I dont trust in my mouth. Hopefully it will hold being dissimilar materials. So Im like I will get it fixed somewhere else later which really sucks already that I would have to do that and pay again to get his work fixed. Ok so now I get beyond that and I figure ok lets see how this root canal goes. During consultation developed a treatment plan and had determined I need a couple root canals. So he starts the root canal on a back upper tooth with four roots and says he cant see the canals and has to send me to an endodontist. Im like ok. So I go and get root canal done at endodontist which was actually the best root canal of my life. Pay 1300 dollars just for root canal. Then Wren charges 1200. 2500 dollars for a root canal. I waited for over 2 months to get the permanent tooth put in. Ok so Im at the office getting the crown finally glued in to my mouth. As far as I know no high noble metals, I dont even know what I got, wasnt explained to me. Now after several conversations asking Dr Wren if he is going to be able to do the next root canal he said there shouldnt be a problem. One or two roots. He states I can see the canals but I dont want to go any deeper. Why not? Thats what you do you get the files and start going thru the roots to get the nerves out. No he wants to send me to the endodontist again, like Im made of money. Looks like Ill be going back to my old dentist to get the other root canal finished. On top of everything while they are doing the work there was an incident when using this water tube while the dentist is drilling, spraying water all over my face and running down my neck getting my hair wet thats how much water is running down my neck. If I didnt ask for some towels they would of kept going and I would of had a shower too. If your going to be a dentist that could only do filings and maybe not even do that right, its time to hang up that white smock. Very disappointed. On top of all that my teeth are pretty bad and was asking about starting to get implant mounts in my mouth for the day when I do lose most of my teeth I can start slowly paying for implants. This way a foundation of mounts will start being added to my jaw and would be ready for whole teeth replacement. That was my thoughts and plans anyway. Want to take my money I would of preferred an implant. How much more then 2500 dolars could it be? If you have a filling to be done you should be alright, anything else, forget it! read more

Dr.Wren is considerate of cost and the fact the I am fearful just being in a dentist office. He has always been gentle and let's me know exactly know what to expect. I just had teeth extracted and required stiches. He was as gentle as he could be and It was not as bad as I had expected! He fit me for dentures which have been a real blessing from the start. I enjoy the woman in the office most having been with him for a long time, and now know my family cleaning their teeth and then having Dr. Wren having the final check He has become familiar with all my kids, from childhood to teeth whitening for their wedding! read more
