I went in for an emergency visit because my crown had come loose and fallen out. I asked the older male Dentist to glue it back and he refused. He insisted that I needed a root canal on that tooth. Even though he poked around my mouth and I haven't been having any pain he refused to replace my cap. I was there several years ago, at that time he told me I needed to get a root canal on that same tooth or to have the tooth pulled. I made an appointment to get the tooth pulled. At that time the female Dentist asked me why I was having it pulled. I explained to her Dentist told me I had no choice. She told me she could save it and she did. It's been at least six years and I've had no pain. The only problem I have with it at this point is that the crown came loose. But he wasn't happy that the other dentist was able to save my tooth. He wants me to have the root canal at any cost . He also refused to fill the cavity that was next to it until I had this root canal completed, and he saidwould refer a surgeon to me. I expressed to him that I didn't have the money at this time. I asked him again politely to just glue in the crown so I can but a little time until I could save the money for a root canal and which he told me we'd be around $1500 or to have the tooth pulled but that would cost about $3500 because then I would have to have a bridge made fill in the gap of the missing tooth. Again, I explained to him that I live on disability, and I didn't have the money for this at the time and I would have to save up for it unless the surgeon would take payments. Again, he refused cement in the cap or fill the cavity. Then he refused to give me the referral for the surgeon because I didn't have the money he then told me since you can't afford it anyway he would not give me a referral for the surgeons. He cared very little about the health of my teeth. His only concern was this root canal. I'm betting he gets a kickback for all of his referrals otherwise he might have been more accommodating. He's a cranky old man who cares little about his patients and more about the money. He's knows my insurance won't cover it and was unwilling to help me buy a little time to save money for a procedure that I honestly don't believe I need done immediately or at all, There is no pain coming from the tooth or any other immediate need to have the procedure done. All I needed was a Little time to save for the procedure and he absolutely refused to help he wants me to have future damage to the toothache and be in pain just to prove his point!!!I won't ever go back to him or recommend any else to go to him. read more

Today, October 30, 2023, is my first time going to the Alsip Dental Center. It was a horrible experience. The assistant appeared at one point to be stalling around while doing the X-rays. When she was finished, I asked what was next. She stated, "You will have to see the Dr to see if he will clean your teeth or not". I said, "What?!!!". From there it was all downhill. I sought to get an understanding and to make sense of the situation. The Dentist himself then came out. He stated, "It's the way they do things and there is no guarantee you will get a cleaning". The dentist then said, "Well maybe this is not the place for you"! I asked about wanting to get a cleaning elsewhere as they'd already taken X-rays. The dentist told them to not charge me while (throwing his arms up) and shouting give her her stuff back. Get her purse. As I expressed my concern about being on the books for a while to the front desk receptionist, she explained that I should be charged since they had done the X-rays. I tried to explain that it should have been told to me when I scheduled my appointment. She dismissed me rudely and somehow appeared to shift the blame and focus to me so that she would not have to address the issue. The problem is the leader (i.e., the dentist). Dr. Mazar Shuaipaj DDS, modeled in front of his staff that the behavior is okay. This is precisely why it is acceptable behavior at this establishment. Finally, we must report these kinds of behavioral experiences. We teach people how to treat us by what we allow them to do to us. read more

got a filling on my tooth and had to dig real deep and it was not my normal Doctor who I always have and they messed it up really bad was hurting and throbbing all night long I can't sleep I can't do anything I called to ask to have my regular dentist try and take the filling out and put a new one in which they didn't put the normal filing material that they always put in for all the other teeth that I had filled at the alsip dental center. they told me they cannot take the filling out and that that I would have to pay for a root canal or many other procedures done on and near that tooth which all I think they wanted was money all I was asking for to have my doctor who always takes care of me try and take the filling out and put a new one and see how it felt they would not do that there this dentistry is out for your money. This is the worst place ever!!. So unprofessional(the dentist) not the office girls..they were wonderful. All this dentist did was tell me what he wanted to do & got mad if I asked any questions..then followed me out to the waiting room yelling the whole time that the government was paying for my visit & to get out of his home which is an office so idk what he was meaning by that & when I told him I was going to give him a bad review he screamed go ahead you & your government INS. My husband got up & said please stop talking to my wife like that then he tried to tell yell at my husband but my husband told him to get back in his office or he was going to need teeth. This guy was on speed or something he was acting crazy. Also the morning of my & my husbands appointment they called & said the dentist wasnt coming in then called 2 hrs later & said he was coming in if we still wanted to come. The worst experience and pain I've endured. I visited this dentist several years ago and had a root canal performed followed by a cap or crown. The dentist took a mold for the new tooth and when it was time to adhere it, there was a noticeable gap between the new cap and the gum line. While I couldn't see anything at the time (I was still in the dentists operating chair), the dentist had me sign several documents. I later found out that he was having me sign saying that I will not sue him. Currently, I have a very bad infection due to the gap between the new cap and gum line. I have been back to this dentist and he won't do anything to correct the very problem he has caused. Very bad experience and obviously a waste of time and money. Now I'm battling one the worst infections one can endure. Just the worst of the worst. read more
