Service was so prompt and efficient here, and the staff is fantastic. Overall a great experience considering I loath going to the dentist.

I came in to have my whole top row taken out and immediate denture, Dr. Oweisi pulled my teeth out…read moreso gently and un-painfully you might as well call him the tooth fairy. And they have no problem with me coming in regularly to keep ensuring a better fit and to make sure I have a good fitting denture. If you are terrified of dentists and or need some serious work done I would definitely recommend anyone come to this office.

Update I did not post another review to be deceitful. I am…read morebasically saying a lot of the same things I already told you by email so I knew you would know it was me.. The way you are responding shows how unprofessional and racist you really are. I have seen similar complaints like mine, and some were even worse. I should have left like they did, but I gave you all many chances because I liked the dentist and wanted to continue getting my dental work fixed. Stop coming on here being unprofessional and arguing with patients who post honest reviews about their experiences. How much are they paying you to be rude, ghetto, and argue with clients online? You do not own the company to be coming after clients like you are doing. Patients have a right to speak about their own treatment, their own dental work, their own health concerns, and their own experience with the office. Instead of addressing the concerns with professionalism and accountability, you are trying to make the patient look like the problem. My review is based on my personal experience, and I stand by what I said. If you want uneven bridges that don't feel or look right, then Smile Obsession may be the place for you. My bridge was made uneven, with one side bigger than the other. I did not make a issue about because my teeth looked better than it was. I actually liked the dentists I saw, including Dr. Carson, and I tried to continue giving the clinic my business. But between the bridge issue, past appointment mix-ups, lost transportation rides, rude office staff, and now being told I cannot return because I posted honest reviews about my experience, I feel patients should be aware. People have a right to speak about their own dental care without being punished or kicked out of a clinic. I also had a serious health concern there last year. My blood pressure was over 180, and I felt dizzy, weak, and unable to stand or walk. Instead of allowing me to rest and making sure I was medically safe, I was given water and rushed out so they could get to the next patient. With my heart condition, that was very scary for me. I believe I had every right to contact leadership about something that felt like a life-or-death situation and I never made a review concerning this until now I was also told by ex employees last year that the CEO was very upset because I emailed him about my concerns. In my opinion, a patient should not be treated badly for reporting a serious safety issue. I also later learned from my insurance that I am owed a refund of about $534. Once I started asking about that refund I was kicked out. This review is based on my personal experience..

Iyad my hygienist is the best. I previously came from an office in Orland that was trying to be some sort of dental spa where I felt like I was being pressured to do unnecessary, overpriced procedures. Oak Lawn Family Dental is no BS, man.

I had an appointment on December 18, 2025, which I believed was scheduled for a cleaning. When I…read moremade the appointment, the receptionist asked what I was coming in for, and I specifically stated a cleaning since it had been a while. I was also receiving text messages and emails reminding me to come in, which further reinforced that understanding. When I arrived, I still assumed I was there for a cleaning. A staff member took X-rays, explaining they were needed since it had been some time to check for cavities or other issues. After the X-rays, I clearly stated that I was only there for a cleaning and did not want any work done that would not be covered by my dental insurance. I was told this would be checked. I was then informed that Dentis Choi would examine my teeth. I was told I had two cavities, decay, a chipped tooth, and a baby tooth that never grew in something I've known about for years and was previously told did not need treatment if it wasn't causing issues. After sharing this information, the dentist left the room without explaining next steps. I assumed she had stepped out briefly and that my teeth would still be cleaned. Instead, another staff member came in to review a treatment plan. At that point, I expressed that I was confused and reiterated that I had come in for a cleaning. I was then told the hygienists were backed up and that there must have been a miscommunication. I agreed and explained that this process should have been clearly communicated when the appointment was scheduled that an exam and treatment plan discussion would take place before any cleaning. That expectation was never explained. I was then asked to sign a treatment plan for cavity fillings totaling $280. I declined, explaining that I was not comfortable committing to payment when I came in solely for a cleaning and circumstances could change before a return visit. I was told I should sign before the end of the year because the cost could increase with my insurance next year. I thanked her for the information. I returned on December 23, 2025, for my cleaning. Check-in went smoothly, and the front desk staff were friendly. The dental assistant prepped me, and the hygienist introduced herself and explained that she would be cleaning my teeth. During the cleaning, water began dripping down my mouth. Although it was mentioned and briefly addressed, the water continued to drip down my neck and onto my back, leaving the back of my shirt wet for the remainder of the appointment. I understand that some water is normal during a dental cleaning, but I have never experienced that level of dripping. Typically, minor drips are immediately addressed to ensure patient comfort. I was also unsure why the hygienist required an assistant throughout the cleaning, as in my experience hygienists usually perform cleanings independently, with the dentist coming in afterward. At the end of the appointment, the hygienist recommended scheduling a visit to complete the cavity fillings. I explained that my previous interaction with Dentist Choi was unpleasant due to the lack of communication and that I would not feel comfortable having her complete the procedure. Overall, the front desk staff were pleasant, but the lack of clear communication and attention to patient comfort made this a frustrating experience. I requested for my x-rays and files to look for a new dentist.

As a patient who's been coming for several years, today 11/10/22 was a huge disappointment!…read more My appointment was at 11:30 I wasn't asked to come to the back until 12. The heavy set assistant put the bib around me, asked if I wanted to watch tv, I said no, she left. About 12:15 I sat up in the seat to see if I could get someone's attention, to ask when I would be seen. The assistant came into the room and said, the doctor is with another patient she will be in shortly. I asked her, is this new, for patients to wait almost an hour before they are seen? She said, Dr. Marshall is on vacation so the other dentist is taking his patients. As we were speaking the Dentist walked into the room and said, what's the problem? I said, I've been waiting almost an hour. She said, no your appointment was at, before she could get it out I said, 1130 . She said, so you've been waiting about 30 minutes, it's 1210 I said no, it's actually 1220. She nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders and said, emergencies happen. The way she looked at me was as if to say, oh well, wait til I'm done. I began to fix my purse strap, she said, are you leaving ? I said yes because you're being very rude and inconsiderate. She said, nonchalantly, ok and walked to the front desk to tell the receptionist, i wasn't being seen because i didn't want to wait. I told her, no, I'm leaving because the dentist was being extremely rude to me. I left in shock! I couldn't believe she was as rude and inconsiderate as she was. It was as if she was doing me a favor or as if i was late and she had to wait on me. I waited almost an hour to be seen, not one time did anyone apologize for my wait or show any consideration for my time. I had to find a baby sitter for my three month old baby for this appointment just for the dentist to be extremely rude to me and waste my time. I would never give my business to this practice as long as she's there! I have referred so many people to this practice from SWA, including a few family members, but I will be sure to tell them about the experience I had today so they can find a new place to go as well. Dr Marshall didn't seem to be as rude and ignorant as the female dentist that works there. I hope you clean house because she will be the cause of you losing a lot of patients. And by the way, while I was there some of the workers were talking about another worker leaving the practice ( I believe) and said, this place is going to go to shit when you leave and I was actually getting paid on time with you here. So obviously there is more going on at this practice than just that rude, nasty, ignorant female dentist!
