I initially came to Dr. Zubinas after going to another Dr. Z, in a nearby suburb, who I felt cared more about his magazine covers, state of the art equipment, and "fancy" office than he did about his patients. I was a tad "gun shy" when I started going to Oak Dental Group but Dr. Zubinas impressed me so, as of now my son and I have been coming here for about 4 years and we love it! I would recommend Dr. Zubinas for children and adults. Dr. Zubinas is smart and trustworthy. I recently visited Dr. Zubinas' office in Oak Forest and was very impressed! I was nervous, as I felt like I deserved reprimanding for lack of flossing, etc, but they were all so kind. Daniella, my hygienist, was excellent, she provided great care and her work was thorough and gentle. She was very reassuring and knowledgeable and I felt much better after spending time with her during my exam/cleaning. Dr. Zubinas was great, efficient and did not give me a lecture like I expected. Turned a "love it" to a "hate it" in one visit!! Will NEVER return after this treatment. Oh, and don't try to book a cleaning appointment. The ONE hygienist they have is booked through December. I use to LOVE Dr. Zubinas's office. The dental hygienist is sweet and gentle and the Doctor himself is nice until you have to make a complaint. I've been calling since the beginning of July to make an appointment for myself and my husband and I have had to leave message on their voicemail most of the time. One time I did talk to the receptionist and she took down my name and number before telling me she'd have to call me back because she was too busy to book my appointment right this second. I'm still waiting for a returned call from any of my messages. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:45 this morning, they called yesterday, didn't leave a message on my voicemail, so I called them back about 30 minutes later. The secretary didn't answer but the lady that did told me that she was just confirming appointments so we hung up. I go in today, the secretary is on the phone and motions for me to be seated. Another woman walked in about 10 minutes later and got the same. We sat and talked for over 30 minutes before she was called in. I went up to the desk, waited for the secretary to end her call and asked when we would be seen since we had a 9:45 appointment. Her response was "Obviously we are behind". She then told me that she called me yesterday to try and ease a scheduling conflict and wanted to change my appointments from 9:45 to 1:45 but since I never called back, I never got the message. When I attempted to ask the dental hygienist if it was always like this now and started to explain about my husband's appointment when she asked "Why do you ask", the receptionist came in quite rapidly to let me know that she "had never spoken to me about my husband's appointment" and she had "no clue who I was calling because she's the one that makes the appointments and returns every single call on the voicemails". She continued to argue with me until the Dental Hygienist asked her to leave. On her way out, she said "then you'll just have to talk to the dentist about that". When the dentist came in, I started to tell him about my experience from the beginning of today and she came in immediately waving a paper around "she didn't leave at 10:30, she left at 10:20". So I thanked her for talking over me and continued to tell the doctor about the rest of it. When I told him about her "Obviously we are behind" comment, she stepped in again and started to yell at me. The doctor gave her a look and she left. I finished telling the doctor about my husband's appointment, the appointments today and my experience with her on the phone. He responded with "make sure you make the appointment before you leave". I told him quite honestly, "I don't think I'll be back, not after her attitude and the way she was permitted to speak to me". He finished examining my daughter and asked if I "would still want the other one examined". He didn't have anything to say after I asked "I paid for it, didn't I?" And on top of it all, I had to fill out all the forms for my son again because they lost his file from last year. I will not be back, I will be filling a complaint with the BBB and I will be filling a complaint with my insurance provider all with the exact same story. The way this receptionist and doctor treated me and my family today is unacceptable. read more

I went to Dr. Zubinas because he was in my HMO insurance plan, and close to home. I regret this decision. I have recently gotten a new PPO plan through work, and went to a highly regarded dentist as I had been having issues with all of the work Dr. Zubinas had done on my teeth. My new dentist was absolutely shocked at the poor quality of the crown and filling Dr. Zubinas had done in my mouth. I haven't been able to chew on the crown for the past 8 months, the new dentist found cement from adhering the crown, all around it, which has made my gums inflamed and irritated. I now need a root canal on this tooth because of further complications. Prior to finding a new dentist, I went back in to see Dr. Zubinas 3 times trying to solve why this crown was bothering me so much, and he said it all appeared fine. Now knowing what I know, I will have to pay to fix the poor work that he has done. To top it all off, the other filling he put in has fallen out, after only 8 months. I must also mention I have never had any major teeth issues before. Disappointing, and from now on I will definitely pay for a more quality dentist. I would recommend avoiding this place. read more

I came here after a year of horrible dealings with a dentistry school. I'll be honest, the dentistry school was a waste of time and money, but without insurance I didn't have many choices. So then I get insurance and the world is my oyster again. I had a hard time finding a dentist on this network because they wouldn't post the right hours and so forth. But Dr. Zubinas' office got me an appointment, had all the right hours, and the staff has been friendly. Dr. Zubinas himself is pretty quiet and fast when dealing with patients. He comes in, says what he needs, and moves on. I don't have kids, so I don't need a dentist to sugar coat anything (maybe sugar isn't the right word to use here). I was worried about a crown I needed on a root canal that started at the dentistry school. The insurance gives flat rates so I was worried about the billing. But they billed me exactly as they quoted which was great. Only one adjustment for something that was like $10. No big deal! They do a great job of finding appointments when you need them (like time of the day), and all of the staff I have dealt with have been not notch in my eyes. I also like the text message reminders. They ask that you confirm your appointment via text. This came in handy when I put an appointment on my calendar wrong. I realized the day of that I never got a confirmation text and called to learn my appointment was next week. The staff did a good job not laughing at me too much! Though my coworkers had a good laugh because I rearranged my work schedule for it! Nobody likes going to the dentist, but Dr. Zubinas works quickly, gets what is needed done, and I like the location and hours. The insurance I have might expire at the end of the year, but I might pay out of pocket to continue with this office. So I'd definitely recommend this dentist! read more

When I was going to another dentist for years, every time I went they would "find" a cavity that needed to be filled. Dr. Zubinas is not looking for cavities that aren't there, and I have been so happy with his practice since I switched 7 years ago. When I didn't have insurance for a time, the prices were also affordable. I also find Sandy the hygienist is extremely thorough (best hygienist I have ever had), and personable as well. My entire family is now going to Dr. Zubinas. read more

Prior to my first visit to Dr. Zubinas I went to a place in orland that wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for work that Zubinas did for significantly cheaper. Its a small little office tucked away behind the bowling alley. Its never been too crowded in the waiting room and the wait is never very long. We talk a little about basketball but he is a quiet guy and not some over the top friendly/pushy dentist. I like that he is a normal person and is focused on the task at hand. I am usually in and out pretty quickly compared to other offices. I have been referring friends and family to him for a while now. I havent had any issues with the quality of his work. read more

I was a little hesitant to change insurance plans because it meant having to find a new dentist, but 4 years later and it has been by far the best choice I ever made! Dr. Zubinas really listens to your concerns and takes the time to discuss options with your best interest in mind. When no other dentist would work with my budget when needing invisalign, Dr. Zubinas went leaps and bounds to make it work. Dr. Zubinas and his staff have been friendly and beyond accommodating when making appointments with my busy work schedule. Today I received my 6 month confirmation call for tomorrows appointment with Dr. Zubinas. I have not been a patient of Dr. Zubinas in over two years yet every 6 months I receive a telephone call confirming my appointment for the following day. One of the reasons I left Dr. Zubinas was because the office arbitrarily scheduled appointments for me without my knowledge as is still obvious to this day. In addition, I found the doctor insisting (for over 2 years) that I needed procedures which other doctors (second opinions from several other dentists and an orthodontist) said were unnecessary. I have never had a problem with the teeth Dr. Zubinas was suggesting needed this procedure. Both the doctor and the hygienist were very personable, the receptionist had an attitude, but it just wasn't the place for me. read more

I am so happy that I found Dr. Zubinas! I was referred by a friend, and have been a loyal patient since 2012. I hadn't seen a dentist in many, many years because of an incredible phobia. Eventually, my neglect got the better of me, and I had to find a dentist. When I walked into Dr. Zubinas' office, I explained to him that I was petrified but his calm and easy demeanor put me at ease immediately. Due to my neglect, I had some MAJOR work that needed to be done, including implants. Dr. Zubinas took the time to explain my treatment plan step by step, he was patient with my never-ending questions, and worked with my insurance to make sure I was approved for treatment. Once I got started, my fears just melted away. All of Dr. Zubinas' staff are professional, friendly and really helped me feel comfortable. I am always greeted with a smile. I'm so thanksful to have Dr. Zubinas as my dentist, and I will never, ever neglect my teeth again - as it's a pleasure to visit him every 6 months. read more

I have to agree with the other review that was posted. I have been going there for a few years and the receptionist is very rude. I tried to make an appointment to go again a week ago and the receptionist said that the computers are down and to call back at the end of the week or early next week because once the computer is back up she will need a day or two to catch up. It's called a pen and paper, USE IT! Despite how bogus I thought that was I called back early this week and the receptionist was very short with me again. After I gave her all my family's birthdates she said she had to enter it in the computer and would call me back. 8 hours later I still have not received a call from her and don't expect to. The only reason I stuck that office out this long was because they are the closest office to us in our dental plan. I will be switching offices and don't plan on going there ever again. read more
