I totally feel for the staff who were trying to keep this place open on Christmas Day, but when I walked in the door and saw a crowd of hungry people standing in the foyer while one poor server/host told everybody that they weren't seating any tables (the restaurant was empty) it was obvious that things had gone deeply awry. So too for my order, which had gotten nice and cold chilling on the bar for over an hour while waiting for somebody to show and deliver it (this is why I took matters into my own hands). When I eventually got home I discovered some of it was missing too. Again, I totally feel for the staff, who presumably didn't want to work on Christmas Day and refused to show up. I, too, would rather not have been at a Denny's on Christmas Day, but we all have our reasons and the whole thing suggests some kind of a broader management issue. I did get a refund, which I appreciate. But I can't recommend you go here in the hope of getting refunded an incomplete, lukewarm, delayed order. read more

Ordered from the value menu Grilled Cheese & Soup of the day. I was pleased with the food, the soup and sandwich were great for a lunch at a reasonable price. Arrived for an early lunch with a party of three and we were promptly greeted by the server. My negative feedback was service was very slow considering there was only 3 tables being waited on. I have never seen such poor mismanagement in a business in my life. My family and I walked in to this location on a Sunday morning that was less than half full. I was then stone walled at the desk by the hostess, who said that she couldn't seat us for 45 minutes. She said they only had one server and that they only have one server all the time. The manager then came and asked me if I wanted to work and I said "yes, if it means my family can eat." She did not take me up on my willingness to help. Sadly some absent franchisee probably has no clue how much money his staff is letting walk out the door due to their poor resourcing and attitudes. read more

Absolutely terrible. Two of us, waited 15 minutes, 9 people walked out. I feel bad for the workers and it's clear that management could care less. Last time for us. Some wise advice. When you have 11 people waiting, get them seated immediately, coffee them up and get back to them as soon as you can. At least get them a seat and a drink. First, they have a well-rounded selection, the breakfasts aren't belt-busters (which is good - I'm roly-poly as it is), the cooks know their business, and the prices are right. Second, Denny's has a fine staff of servers, including the best waitress in town: Shawn. Wowzers. Slow slow slow. We ordered pancakes, eggs, bacon and fruit. I'm pretty sure there was only one person in the kitchen during prime time dinner hours. (Granted there were only 3 other tables that had people at them ). I'm fairly certain they all had their food already- hate to think what breakfast would be like if it was much busier. The food was great, our service was great, and the fight that broke out a couple tables down to us settled pretty quick with no cops needing to be involved!! My stepson and I drove across Traverse City to go to Denny's because we were hungry and thought we would get a good breakfast. We have been to Denny's in Lansing and Okemos many times and always had a good breakfast at all of the locations. The food at the one in Traverse City was not good at all. We will not be driving across town again to eat at Denny's. The prices for our food was outrageous. It Cost over $35 to eat and it sure wasn't worth it. From now on we will go back to Cracker Barrel. We always get a good meal there and the prices are much better. There wasn't hardly anyone there today at Denny's. The service was ok once we got waited on and the waitress was nice. Haven't been in a Denny's in along time but I am glad we went to this location! The service was great, our waitress was super nice to us and the kids and very patient with us! The food was very good I highly reminded the slam fit ( for healthy options) while my husband on the other side got the Santa Fe skillet which was amazing! Spicy and flavorful not for the bland food loving people! Their kids menus is very diverse and there are so many options to choose from with pictures so the kids loved to order themselves! On our way up to Old Mission Peninsula for a wine event on a cold March Sunday. We stopped at the Denny's in Traverse City for lunch. It's been years since I've been in Denny's. The Traverse City location is very bright and cheerful and appears to be fairly new. We were greeted and seated promptly. The waitress promptly took our order and brought our coffees. I'm only leaving a 2 star rating instead of a 1 because I actually never got a chance to eat much less even order. My wife and I walked in for breakfast early on a Monday morning to a very sparsely filled dinning area. Since a small amount of customers were dining, my wife asked if we could sit in a booth rather than a table. We normally would not ask to take up a booth with only 2 of us eating, but since the place was nearly empty, we figured it didn't matter. But apparently the host/ greeter scanned the room and quickly replied, "nope, some of the booths are dirty and we expect large groups coming in later"! Not wanting to cause a scene and really, not a big deal, we sat at an un level table exactly in the center of several other tables . While sitting there for 5-7 minutes , we were never visited by a waitress, no; water, coffee, menus, etc. We saw the waitress several times as did she see us. Feeling we were not going to be acknowledged, we left after 10 minutes and went down the street to Bob Evans where we had an excellent experience! The pathetic thing is, the original host saw us leaving , (we actually crossed paths), never questioned why were leaving; no apology or explanation for the lack of service. Never again ! read more

The guy at the front didn't acknowledge either of the groups that were waiting for a table and kept ignoring us and checking people out as they came up? Then when he was done ha started doing something else, again ignoring everyone. I asked if we could seat ourselves and he said no he would seat us. Ok so... was that going to be today or...? I have eaten at Denny's frequently for five years and through thick and thin and COVID. Manager John and Christy have always seen to it I have good tasting food at an affordable price. They honor AARP, and their customers. Waitresses Sean and Nicole and helpers Terry, Javier, and cook Jacob and ? are always friendly, polite, and efficient. The Denny's menu is amazing with everything you could imagine and breakfasts are an absolute bargain! Went in for a "quick" and easy breakfast lol. 2 eggs over medium crispy hash browns Whole wheat toast. Fiance on a strict diet orders the same toast no butter. The alleged toast arrives. However mine is bread and not toasted. Hers appears to have something on it. Waitress never came back to check on us. Hashbrowns not crispy since they where not cooked. Toast was bread. Eggs not over medium. No napkins so I had to wipe my face with wax coated paper the silverware bag they came in that I also had to ask for. 6 tables in the place occupied. Where do I start... I was a smidge upset when my friends wanted to go to Denny's, not going to lie. However, I was BLOWN AWAY with the service. Denny's is known for having slow service, but not this Denny's. They are open so late, yet the staff still had a smile on their faces. Shaun, our server, got our drinks, apps, and food in the most timely manner I've ever witnessed in ANY restaurant. Love you Shaun. So that was amazing, but to top it off on our way out Simonè was so amazingly pleasant... she laughed at all of our jokes & let me tell you, our jokes are bad. Great wAy to leave. After waiting another 6 minutes I finally got a water from the waitress and got asked if I wanted anything to drink. I like crepes. especially strawberry crepes. I was in there for eggs bacon and crepes. I personally would just like to have strawberry crepes without the vanilla crème sauce. Our server was amazing! Her name was Shawn and she was bouncing around being so tentative to all the guests. At the time she was the only server in the restaurant and was great! Our food was also delicious! Probably the best "fast breakfast dinner" type breakfast I've had in such a long time I was genuinely grateful to just have a good meal! I guess noon is the time to go!
