Walked inside and were told they were only taking to go orders because there was only one employee working and he had alot of cleaning to do and could not serve another customer. We saw only two tables being served. I understand the lack of staff makes it difficult to properly serve customers in a timely manner, or to complete tasks,however, this is NOT the first time we have been turned away. It is hard to judge what days and times will be busy and to properly staff. But why would you only have one employee working? If not for service, what about the safety for that one employee. Either way, I never write a review but after being turned away multiple times due to understaffing, you might as well just lock the doors and turn off the lights! We came here thinking my 19 year old could get the FREE BIRTHDAY BREAKFAST TODAY, since it's her birthday. I guess not anymore! Now you have to pre register the day before your birthday to get a barcode or pay full price. The server was kind of snotty about telling us the pre register info. We order grand slams to eat anyway. Food was average, service not so great. Dennys sure has gone down hill over the years. Next time I'm going to Waffle House! I want to say how impressed I was that all of them young adults working this Sunday morning 11/24/24 and how amazing they did juggling everyone and everything. The restaurant was so clean the service on everyone's face was amazing and welcoming the one manager I'm assuming yelling keeping everyone in a positive mood with his comedic charm really was admirable. Now the food lol ..I ordered was basically very noticeable the chef may need way more experience or training as to what the food actually should be and look like. I did express my concern today and was taken care of with the deepest apologies I am hoping to come by another time in the future when the food matches the amazing service I received. Wandered over for dinner after being on the road all day and I like it. Cleaner and neater than some of the other Denny's I have been in. Blake is a delight. Young and energetic, ready and eager to help. Hasn't been jaded by years of servitude. He made this dining experience worth while. The Prime Rib Cobb Salad was worth it, thought highly of the amount of dressing they give with the salad. There are places that seem like the dressing is in a spritzer bottle. I saw the television commercials and decided to give Denny's a try for breakfast. I drove all the way over to the Cornith location from Prosper and they were closed. All the signs said open 24 Hours. So I drove all the way up north to the one in Denton off of I-35. They had a hand written note on the door that said they were going to open at 6:00 am. It was after 6:00 am and the door was locked. I could see two employees inside but they seemed to busy to notice me. I waited outside the front door for ten minutes and then decided they weren't going to open. I specifically chose this location, passing several other locations to get here on Thanksgiving evening, because I had been here and found it to be better than others I had recently been to. Boy, did I find out quickly that the time I enjoyed it must have been a fluke. From the moment we were seated until we left, it was one of the absolute worst experiences I have ever had at a Denny's. First, we had to wait almost 25 minutes before "Dakota" even showed up at our table to take a drink order. There were 2-3 other tables which were occupied in the entire restaurant, so she couldn't say she was just super busy either. Plus, it was absolutely FREEZING in there, and when I told the server that we were so cold that it felt like they were rationing the heat, the only response I received was "rationing?" Nothing was done or offered to be done to make it any more comfortable to the five of us who were there. Food was super quick (or at least for 4 out of 5 of us). One person in our party (who only ordered a salad and fries) didn't even get her food for another 15 minutes. All of us were completely out of our drinks from the time our food arrived until we were about done, and even then we had to ask for refills. We kept thinking she'd show up eventually to at least do the minimum and check for refills, but we never did. One person in our group never even got a refill, and her glass was empty LONG before we got food. One person's food was cold when it got to the table, and he never got the toast that was supposed to come with it. I can't even remember the last time I had such HORRIBLE service ANYWHERE. The bill was $70. I left a $2 tip. Dakota was OBVIOUSLY not happy about it. Eff that! I come from a generation who actually believes you have to EARN a tip. You are NOT ENTITLED to get one if you suck at your job or have an attitude that gives the impression to everyone that having your fingernails slowly ripped off one-by-one would be better than to be at work. FIND ANOTHER JOB if you hate it so much. Trust me, there are plenty of people who would be thrilled to have the opportunity to be employed right now. SO, you want a good tip? Simple. Do a good job or get out and let someone else do it. I almost always leave a 40% tip, and had I received even DECENT service, Dakota would've gotten a minimum $30 tip tonight just for working on Thanksgiving (key word = "working"). LONG REVIEW SHORT, if you are just craving something from Denny's, there are far too many around this location to stop here. If you're smart, pass this one and stop and the next. It couldn't be any worse! Or, if you love freezing to death and choking down food without anything to drink, stop here. I don't care one way or the other, but I won't be back. This has got to be the worst Denny's ever now which is a shame because when it first opened, it was great. It is always understaffed. Tonight was the final straw. I was seated at a dirty table. After 10 minutes, the waitress arrived to take our drink order. I asked her to bring a wet towel with her to wipe the table. After 5 minutes, she came back with the drinks handed me a paper napkin to wipe the table with ! I asked again for her to get a wet cloth and she told me if I wanted it, she would have to walk ALL the way to the back of the store to get it (like it's a huge store?) We called in an order to the Denny's in Corinth to pick up on our way out of town. When we went to pick up our order it was ready and waiting and were told everything was in the bag. We left and headed out of town. Once we opened our bag a few minutes later we realized that our order was made wrong. We ordered a French toast slam and a burger with fries and a coke. First thing we noticed was that we did not receive our drink. Then we noticed that the eggs which we had ordered over hard was instead replaced with a hard boiled egg 1 not even 2 per the order and the bacon was completely black and burnt at the bottom. Could be a simple mistake I get it. Then the worst issue was when I picked up the box for the burger out of the bag there was oil or grease or gravy, some type of greasy goo all over the bottom of the bag which had come through the box and had gotten all over the burger and fries. The burger was completely soggy and fell apart when I timried to pick it up. I'm not usually one to call and ask for a refund but this was pretty bad. I called the store explained the issue to the person who answered and she said let me get my manager. After sitting on hold for 5 minutes the manager finally answered and I explained the situation thinking it would be a simple issue and would be given a refund on principle of good customer service but this where things when down hill. The manager said that we would have to bring the food back and be given a store credit. Normally I wouldn't have minded but by this point I'm 30 miles away and on my way to a family anniversary party. When I explained that I could not do that and asked for her to just issue the refund to my card she then sighed and sounded frustrated and abruptly said hang on and then hung up on me. Not hold but actually hung up as the phone went to the fast busy signal a call makes when it is disconnected. I called back again. Someone picked up the phone I explained that I was speaking with the manager and we got disconnected. I was hoping it was a simple accident and trying to give the benefit of the doubt. I waited another five minutes someone picks up the phone as I could hear noises in the background and then click busy signal again. At this point I realized they were intentionally hanging up on me. I called back a third time and was immediately hung up on without even a hello. Assuming the store had caller ID I called from another phone number. This time I was extremely frustrated and asked to speak to the manager again. She finally come on the phone and says that she is not able to offer a refund. We argued back and forth and I finally asked to speak to her manager or given the number to a corporate manager. Upon calling the corporate manager's cell phone. I was told that they didn't believe that anything was wrong with my order and that I would not be given a refund. I told him I would send photos of the food to prove what I was saying. Upon sending the photos I called him back to make sure he received them. He stated yes he did and they would issue a refund. He then proceeded to lecture me about being rude to his employees (which I was not until I had been hung up on twice) and when I told him I apologize for being rude but your employees should not be hanging up on me. He then got mad because I wouldn't back down from the bad customer service complaint and refused to believe that I was hung up on and then changed his mind and said that no I'm not giving you a refund because you were rude to my employees. We argued back and forth and he then...wait for it... HE hung up. I called him back and when I asked if hanging up on people was a Denny's corporate policy he responded and said no I'm in a bad area my phone dropped the call. That's a lie because I have an iPhone. Any dropped calls for any reason will show a "Call Failed" message. I didn't point that out to him but again asked for the number to his supervisor which he again refused but instead directed me to send my complaint online if I wanted my refund. BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! Shame on you Denny's for allowing this type of thing to take place within your stores and leadership. I can afford to lose $30 on a meal. No biggie, but to treat your neighbors and customers this way and not be willing to make it right? This location should be closed immediately. read more

Just came in on a Saturday night, just for a quick meal and the waitress initially told us It will be a 20 min wait because two big parties were ahead of us. (It was actually very empty and not busy) Also, the only cook was the Resturant manager. Seemed very understaffed. But Okay cool... that's fine. We wait being understanding and just enjoy our company. We give her our orders and I asked for a iced coffee. HOUR passes by , TWO to-go orders have been made, still no iced coffee, nor has the waitress checked in on us to make sure we were good. In a few times visiting here, I have not been a fan of this Denny's. I think a big part of the issue is that they are understaffed. In my last experience, I was given my order wrong multiple times, and waited over 45 minutes in the restaurant for an order my wife put in online ahead of time. Every time the order was wrong, i would start to explain what all is missing, and after I read the first item, the lady would run away into the back to let them know, then not come back up front for 15 minutes or more. When she finally did come back, I explained to her I wasn't done and there were more items missing. I read the second item and she did it again! Ran off mid sentence to the back, for another 15 minute+ period. I felt like they were in panic mode because some people were missing that day, but they seem to be some level of aloof every time I go. read more

While I can't recommend the dinner menu, I have never had issues with the basics such as pancakes, meats, etc. My wife and oldest child both enjoy the omelets. As for the youngest, he likes pretty much anything there, especially the special cups that are offered from time to time.
