Take it for what it is, a lesson learned. Went for lunch my sister-in-law- was sat at a table that wasn't wiped clean but whatever... sister-in-law asked for a salad with ranch, no ranch- ok, blue cheese- out of that too, ok- they have chipotle ranch, perfect, that works. She was between three sandwiches, the waitress told her recommendation, she went with that. I got my food, her son got his food, we got the appetizer, she's still waiting on her food. We ask and she says they're waiting on her salad to be prepared... huh? Waitress comes back, they have no onion rings, ok- sweet potato fries. She lays down a $21 chicken fried chicken. Not the sandwich. Clearly there was a misunderstanding. She asks what's the difference between the sandwich and what she was given because she didn't want to be bothersome, the waitress says "I'm sure they put it on bread and slap some tomato and lettuce on it". So we opt to just keep it since it already came last. Then we hear the waitress and a group of 5/6 young kids talking about it saying it wasn't her fault. She tries to pass off the sweet potato fries to someone else to bring and I ask her to bring out waitress to the table and explain that 1- it's no one's fault, that it was a misunderstanding but that it should never be talked about in front of the customer and how the customer was wrong, because we certainly weren't. She does seem sincerely apologetic. Great. At check out for three people for lunch it's $77. We explain that if we knew the chicken fried chicken was so expensive we wouldn't have kept it, they explain they can't comp it but they offer to discount it. We say sure. They discount it $5. Used to love it here. We would always bring family and friends who were visiting from out of town. It used to have a charming home town vibe. We waited for a table that was open for 30 minutes. Waited for our food for 40 mins. and we were a party of 3. My friend ordered a skillet that used to come in a skillet. Now just on a plate. I wish the service had been better. We sat at the bar and I think we were passed by a server at least six times until I said something 10 minutes later. The coffee was excellent. We are new residents of Aubrey and on a whim we decided to seek out 'Downtown.' There's not much to it, but we took note of a restaurant that has the same name as a coffee "stand" we drive by frequently - Upper Park Cafe. We came by for brunch on a Monday (we had taken the morning off from work and we're playing hooky after our appt at the Tax Assessor's office). We are very glad we did - we really enjoyed the service, food, and coffee. If the coffee is the same at the "stand" we'll definitely start frequenting that, too. As there menu states, they are "Home of the Pecan Coffee." It's aroma is amazing and the flavor was darn good, too. I don't like 'plain' coffee, I have to sugar it up and make it more like a dessert; but I could see myself drinking a cup of that (without the caramel and whip cream, etc. - although, it would be out of this world with all of my usuals added). Driving through Aubrey and needed something for lunch. Arrived a few minutes after 2:00 - they close at 2:00. Was welcomed with "We are closed". I immediately recall my father walking out of his restaurant after working all day and night and as we got in the car to leave (I was younger than 10 years old) - a family pulled up. My father greeted them and welcomed them INSIDE as he turned everything back on and insisted they eat - now that is old school customer service. I probably will never return to try this Upper Park to try their food because of this and don't care to invest any further. I just don't understand this - they had no idea what I needed or wanted. Nor shall they ever. Maybe their food is a 5-Star but if the customer care and service does not meet or beat that - it won't matter. I learned from Mom and Dad and then also in college that people will always return when there is excellent customer service, even if the food is mediocre. Not sure about this place - but that's my two cents of opinion and perception. read more

We tried eight different dishes and thought everything was okay. I was stunned that it was so packed during Sunday brunch but the food wasn't spectacular. The one food item that stood out was the Waffle. It was the best Waffle I have ever had - fluffy, buttery, and smelled delicious. I can't even make it that good! read more

This place seems more like a high school social club than a restaurant. Walked in for breakfast at 9 am with my husband. Was told to wait 5 minutes. No problem. There are 8 open tables, 2 waitresses having a friendly and long conversation with a table, 3 people in the kitchen (that I could see) and another 4-5 waitresses. Every time we've come in (this was our 3rd and last shot) we literally get ignored when we sit for 10+ minutes and have to flag someone down just to get drinks. We are pretty patient and wanted to give Upper Park a fair shake. Don't waste your time (literally) at this place. There are other breakfast options. read more

The wife and I came into Upper Park Cafe for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 9. It was a very rural atmosphere in downtown Aubry which is exactly what we were looking for. Parking: 5/5 - It's a downtown area, so there's plenty of parking in the nearby areas. We were able to find a parking spot right in front of the restaurant. Atmosphere: 5/5 - It's exactly what you would expect for a small town cafe. Rustic, wood and bricks. The dining room is not large, but the tables are spread out and there's plenty of room for everyone. Food: 4/5 - The food was very good. My wife ordered a beacon and egg sandwich; I ordered the eggs and bacon meal. The eggs were great and the bacon was crispy, just the way I like it. I also ordered oatmeal with blueberries, which was great. They had mimosas , but not bloody marys, which my wife likes. Service: 5/5 - The staff were fast and efficient. They were very friendly and quick to refill glasses. When we were done they brought our check quickly but didn't rush us to get out. Summary: If your looking for a great small town restaurant, Upper Park Cafe just might be the place for you. Service was great, the food was good, and there's plenty of parking. There are lots of shops nearby to walk off your meal. Try Ruby Cates Coffee Company for an after meal coffee. We'll definitely be visiting again. read more

Came to town looking for a great place for breakfast - up early, few places are open and wanted to avoid the big chains. This quaint town has at least one thing to stop for and this small plaza of breakfast, coffee shops have some great options to kick off the start of the day. Amber was helpful and made some great suggestions for breakfast and I ended up getting 10 sandwiches to go for the troops. I'd been researching breakfast spots in the area and this one showed up. The food looked good from the pictures I saw so we decided to go for breakfast today. It didn't disappoint. It was about 15 min away which is a short drive. It's in the town of Aubrey. We were immediately seated upon arriving about 8:30am. Our waitress greeted us within a minute and took our drinks. I got the pecan coffee - very good. I ordered the Mexican Omelette with hash browns & a pancake, husband got the Pecan French Toast, and the kids got the kids pancake breakfast. All of the food was very good and very good portions. My omelette came with sour cream & olives on top with a side of salsa. Very tasty. The pancake was very big. My husband had the pecan French toast. The only ding on this review is that unfortunately my husband had eaten almost half of the French toast before we realized there were no pecans on it. We told the waitress and she quickly got the pecan syrup and butter for it for him to take home - thank you! None of us were able to eat all of our food (to go boxes!!) My husband took our son to the restroom and he said they were clean. The inside isn't very big but a decent size for the area. There's also a bar it looked like people could sit. Geeeez, I'm giving 5 stars because a bunch of these reviews are entitled people who are mad that Mom's closed down for good & now people HAVE to go to the Cafe, inevitably driving up wait times. THIS IS NOT MOMS, your food is being made by people who are perfectly capable. We LOVE Upper Park. It is a staple for locals. This is the best place to eat in town. The pecan coffee is a must, and you can't go wrong with any of the omelets. Their French toast and waffles are flavorful and tasty as well. The wait staff come by an appropriate amount and don't hover or intrude. The feel of Upper Park is awesome as well. What an awesome place in Aubrey! This area is historic and has a lot of fun shops around it. The wait staff is young but very professional and very friendly! They were very attentive to making sure cups were full and tables were cleaned very well. For lunch I got the chicken and waffle. It comes with syrup and a side of gravy. The breading is SO GOOD!! I also got my son a grilled cheese off the kids menu which came with fries. The portions were very big. If you're into coffee be sure to get the pecan coffee! We will be back read more

Been coming to place for years. The food quality is good ... service tends to be random...today was on the downside of random. We were with a large group..ended up sitting on the patio. Without a long transcript... had to order drinks twice 'system deleted the first try"....then another 10 minute wait to get drinks, another 10 minutes to place orders. Some 20+ minutes later half of the group had their food served.... multiple requests of "where is our food'..resulted in 'it's coming in a minute'. Finally a pointed conversation with the manager and something like 45 minutes after we arrived and some 15 minutes after the rest of our party (and several other parties on the patio, had been served and finished..we finally got to eat. The restaurant comped he meals but at that point there wasn't much else to do...they had failed on every level as a restaurant operation. This place ABSOLUTELY blew me away. From the curb appeal as you're pulling up to the decor and ambiance in the restaurant, it just grabs and keeps your attention. The food unfortunately has a lot to live up and it surpassed it without question. Got the meat lovers omelette and a pancake on the side and everything from first to last bite was so fresh and delicious. Lastly, if there's anything that can ruin this would be the service. We were fortunate enough to have Jessica to help us out, and that sealed this awesome experience. She was very polite, awesome customer service and people skills and just overall awesome to interact with. Being from out of town, she made me feel right at home. I don't know if there are different owners, this place used to be amazing but we will never go there again. Husband and I went there on Friday...after an hour of waiting for our food we told the waitress we were leaving. There was one large table and the waitress said it put them behind. We finally started seeing food come out after an hour, but it was being served to tables that had just come in, not to the tables that had been there over an hour, waitress acknowledged this and just shrugged her shoulders. On top of that when we originally ordered our food we were told that they didn't have french fries and their soda machine wasn't working. So disappointed, Aubrey doesn't have much for sit down food, Upper Park used to be a top notch place with good service and food, this is no longer the case. We left and went to Giulia's Cafe and had excellent food and service...our new go to place! read more

This was my first time at this restaurant and I was a little disappointed. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette. The eggs were fluffy but it had very little ham. As far as the service, it was extremely poor. After me meal was brought to me the server never came back until she brought the bill. I was never asked how things were and my coffee was never refilled. There were five servers on duty but they stayed in the kitchen area. They did NOT work the dining room as they should have.
