For the most part, we haven't run into any issues bringing our senior pup here (he's a chihuahua beagle mix) and he does well meeting all the other dogs and people. Over summer - the dog park can get pretty smelly. I think it's from those hose/water run off but there have been some days where it smelled kind of gross so we left. Also, always watch your pup around the drinking bowl and run the water to make sure it's fresh and not stagnant or contaminated! Unfortunately, the last time we took our pup, he drank from the drinking bowl before we could get to him and a few days later he got extremely sick.

Every time I stop by there are many people with their dogs. My dog always has a good time playing. I like that this place isn't so large that my dog runs off in places I can't see. I can see my dog from anywhere in here with plenty of running room for all the pets and their owners. Nice job on this one. Probably the best dog park in the area based on size, offerings, and cleanliness. There isn't a bunch of dirt or gravel like many of the dog parks so your dog will stay relatively clean. Huge bonus in my opinion. I avoid many parks because my dog immediately gets so dirty.

Magnuson off leash park is HUGE to put it simply. There are few gates to enter into, one of which is right near the "small" dog section of the dog park which is nice the other entrances lead to a huge field mixed with grass but is mostly dirt. At the entrance are some hoses to hydrate the dogs or hose them down quickly before entering of leaving. On really hot days I'll spray my pup quickly to cool him down. From there, there is another little area not as big as the main area, but there are some additional benches and is a bit more secluded than the main. The main area has a little info board, lost and found and a covering with a table and bench so you can set things down if need be. There is a path that's maybe 0.5 mile walk that leads to the main attraction here, a nice little cove of water where the pups can go jump in the water. It's great. My pup is a tri-pawd and doesn't really swim but does like the water. There is a nice long running mat that leads into the water. It lets him gradually get into the water and it is such a thoughtful addition there. I find the people at this area are generally nice and have had pleasant visits each time here. Best Off leash area I've visited thus far.

You wouldn't know that it is right off of 15th. In the spring, the cherry blossom trees are gorgeous. I think the only thing that can be discouraging about this park is sometimes you run into folks that stay by the behavioral homes and shelters. They're harmless, but from time to time they we've had a few encounters of them on drugs or yelling at other folks enjoying the park. Other than that, sunny days and an open area in Capitol Hill.

I appreciate everyone here being so nice and welcoming, offering to let me the ins-and-outs of the place, showing me the main area as well as the small dog area, and the amount of fixtures the dogs can play on at this park. Only downside is that the parking lot for the big dog area is a little small but seems like most people park on the street or in the small-dog lot of need be. There are many entrances along the perimeter from the park or the Greenbelt Trails. I recommend using the entrance from the parking lot on SW Cloverdale & 5th Ave Sw. The Off-Leash area was closed for half a year to improve irrigation. The outcome created the gravel layer, updated the fencing area the play areas but it also limited trash access, sometimes leaving piles of dog bagged waste. Disappointed with the lack of dog-park-related improvements (water stations, benches, dog bags, etc.).

We were in need of a place to let him stretch his legs, but he'd never been to a dog park. While the park itself I'll give four stars, the people and the dogs there should receive 10 stars for being so welcoming. Our fears about dog interactions were for naught; our dog took to running with the pack without a problem and there were no growls from the other dogs big and small. The dog parents were also patient when our dog wanted to greet them in his not-always-appropriate ways (he's big, thinks he's small.) We cannot thank this community enough for their warm welcome, for providing us with a refuge and helping us to introduce our dog to the world of dog parks.

The service and staff here right off the bat are great. They're always friendly, clear in instruction and happy to explain how things work. In both of my (thus far) visits, via phone and in person they're very nice and that goes a long way. I assume all the staff here have pups of their own and it shows as when they're moving about the 'yard' they're nice and engaging with all the dogs. Dog Yard itself is nicely set up. Plenty of astroturf for dogs to run around, with drink stations and an allowance for them to relieve themselves anywhere. There are hoses, paper towels, bags etc. to clean up after your pup so you can quickly clean and let the play time continue. There are seats off to the side for pup parents to chill - high table, yard lounge and bench seating, some with overhangs or fire pits/heat lamps for if it's cold or rainy. Did I say cold or rainy? Ask one of the attendants and they'll give you a blanket so you can enjoy the yard and keep warm! My only snag here is that it seems this place more for groups of friends or for people who are otherwise already acquainted. This is no fault of Dog Yard, but in both my visits, specifically breed meetups, no one is social despite me trying to strike up conversation about the mutual draw here - our dogs. What's the point of paying to come here if you're gonna do what you can do at any free dog park -- stand there looking at your phone or a book? Maybe it's me. Regardless. Dog Yard is a great place for drinks and dog fun.

I've been taking my dog here for about two years. On 12/13/2025 I brought my dog to the dog…read moreyard for the Shiba Inu meetup. We have come to these meetups before and have never had any issues. However this time after being at the dog yard for a little over an hour my dog was bit on her anus by a dog that had just come in. I saw this couple checking in with their shiba on a leash in which it lunged at my dog and another person's dog. Both dogs that were lunged at distanced themselves from this new aggressive dog. Once this couple had checked in they immediately let their dog off leash and within seconds it snuck up on my dog to bite her. She screamed and ran to hide rather than engage. I saw that she was bleeding and asked for a wet wipe so that I could disinfect and get a look at her injury. One of the workers gave me a wet towel and walked away. She also got blood on one of the couch cushions. We realized the extent of her injury and immediately left to get her to the emergency vet. The emergency vet saw her within less than 30 minutes waiting. My dog had to be sedated and given sutures, pain meds, and antibiotics. Throughout this experience I was calling the dog yard and the man on the line was kind and helpful in forwarding my information to the owners of the aggressive dog. However its been several days and the dog yard has been ignoring my emails asking for more information and also being passive aggressive over the phone. This place is no safer than taking your dog to a public off leash park. They refuse to give me the contact information of the owners. I'm out $960 and the people responsible have not contacted me. I've been provided no info on if they will be banned from the park or not. I felt as though this would be a safe space and that having a middleman would aid in the case of injuries. This has not been my experience. They have not assisted whatsoever in gathering evidence and they let in an aggressive dog that displayed harmful behavior in front of the employee checking them in. Dog bites are mandatory to report in Seattle so I will be seeking the help from animal control as well as SPD.
