I've never had a service department fail to return my call but Dennis Dillon Mazda did. More than once. Service is in the title. Supposed to mean customer service, not just service on the automobile. I give them three stars because they did make the effort to get me a loaner a few times. However, the second time I had them service my car it was returned to me with everything taken out of the console and left in a box on my passenger seat. Some of the seating components had been taken off and left in my console as well. I had to go back to have them put the pieces back in place. The third time I took the car in, I was treated with disdain by the service advisor when I stated that my three-year old car shouldn't have a rattle. The little jerk actually laughed at me after making excuses about how they have trucks full of brand new cars with various noises and issues that are difficult to diagnose. Was he telling me Mazda is inferior product? I had made a recording of the rattle they "couldn't reproduce" and sent it to my previous service advisor. She never acknowledged it. I asked if I could show the recording to someone else since the previous service advisor hadn't returned my last two texts and one voice mail. He smirked and referred me to the service manager. When I called the service manager's number, I got either a busy signal or a tone that sounded like a fax machine. I called the main number and left a message (they don't answer the phone much) and THEN he called me back. The regional manager is only available by email What kind of service is this? I had an oil change on my 2024 cx30. I made an appointment and at the time I made it the price quoted was $89.95. When had the service they charged me over $102.00, charging extra for the filter. I called the service department and they said they would credit back the charge. After waiting for 2 weeks and the credit not happening after being told by the service department on the phone it takes time to process I drove back to the service department. The service manager immediately tried to justify the $102 charge rather than arguing over $12.95 I just left. Dennis Dillon service repeatedly lied to me over $12.95 ridiculous . READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY! It will save you time and money. This is single-handedly the worst car dealership I have ever dealt with, and buying a car here is a huge risk. If this place went out of business, it would benefit everyone. Bought a used car here, drove it home and the next day I was on my way to work and it overheated and broke down. I called them and they had it towed to them, and they thought they fixed it. Less than a week later, the check engine light came on. See where I'm going with this?... I've waited to allow them to make it right for over 10 months. They would bring it in to their service department (Grant was my service advisor and is the only respectable person who works here) and keep it for 1-3 weeks, tell me to come get it. After less than a week of driving it every single time, check engine light comes back on again, same issue, same code. So clearly their mechanics are incompetent after 9 times of bringing it in for the SAME ISSUE. Fast forward to this last time that I've brought this vehicle in, and after this one, the check engine light comes back on less than 3 days after getting it back. Now I'm just getting real mad. Now I begin the process of trying to contact sales to see if they will buy the car back for at least what I owe on it since they sold me a LEMON. They always said they'll pass my info on, and then I would never get a call back. Worst nightmare of buying a car you could ever have. They eventually offered me 10k below what I bought for it less than a year ago and less than 10k miles added on it. I refused this offer, and asked to speak to a manager. HERE IS WHERE IT GETS CRAZY. I was calling them every 2 days or so asking to see if I could speak to the general manager. The staff lies because they have NO INTEGRITY and says he's too busy or not there. Reality was, they would just tell me that and never talk to him. They later admitted that they supposedly don't have his phone number. Well I finally went in here today because I was told over the phone the only way I'd be able to talk to him was if I came in. So I came in, asked to speak with him, was given the run around again. And finally, some dude exploding with steroids comes out to tell me that the GM won't be seeing me. This made me angry, so I asked respectfully to speak with him, he said no. I said I'm not going to leave until I speak with him, then they told me they were going to call the cops if I didn't leave!? For asking to speak with a manager????! Corrupt, classless, and incompetent. Clearly, they don't care about their customers. They refuse to even acknowledge and speak to you after you've bought a car from them. HORRIBLE!!! I recently purchased a car for my son here in August of 2025. The car was great and the salesman was good enough, however I was bilked by the finance manager. I specifically told him that I did not want any add ons to the price of the vehicle. He told me that there were none. Later on going through the paperwork, he mentioned that they put an anti theft device as well as a blinking brake light on every car they sell. Great right, not really. He did not tell me that there was a price for these. The anti theft was $788 and the brake light was $1,399. Together it was 20% of the cars value. I did t get a copy of my purchase documents that day and it looks like it was an electronic signature of some sort. When my loan finally showed up with my credit union, I noticed that the payment was $40 more per month. When I requested the documents from my credit union I was shocked to see the add ons. I have been trying to get a hold of someone there for a week and no one will call me back. I was even hung up on today. Please do not fall for this. Any slimy dealership that works this way should be availed at all costs. If anyone at Dennis Dillon is reading this feel free to reach out. Had a very similar experience. Was told because the kia was afe dated it would be thousands off. After wasting a ton of time filling credit apps and waiting forever they finally come back with appx $1000 off Murphy and added some brake crap pkg for $1650 additional making the price actually more than full sticker. My wife was furious for wasting so much time, we left and the salesman texted a new discounted price. My daughter laughed because she had gone to their website where the same vehicle was being offered for $500 less than their special price they countered with. I wouldn't trust these guys at Dennis Dillion to even buy a bicycle from them. They have the worst sales managers. They add on this theft and brake crap that they charge $3,000 for but in reality it only costs about $300. They say they can't take it off but you don't even ask to have it installed that's how they make money. They also don't tell you this until you're at the paperwork and they are trying to run your credit. They have cars listed online for one price but when you come in all the sudden the car is $2,000-$3,000 more. When you try to talk to the general manager he doesn't talk to you he ignores you. Apparently I should have read more reviews prior to going to this dealership. All the negative stereotypes about a car dealership can be proven at Dennis Dillon Mazda. The biggest issue I have is when we signed the papers, they did not present me with the contract to some crappy brake thing pre-installed on the car. I am looking through my paperwork and they literally copied and pasted my signature on a document. We have 3 documents with my signature that were never presented to me. They were clearly digitally applied, but they never got my consent to sign digitally. The quality of person working at this dealership is the bottom of the bucket. Took my car in for a routine oil change, got a phone call during the service stating that there was a screw in the sidewall of the tire and that it was not repairable. I was then only offered one option for tires for the car at $1200, and that there weren't any other real options as the rims are aftermarket. I told them I would go have it checked out at Les Schwab and see what they find out. (a risk I know but always worth the 2nd opinion). when I got home I did discover my low pressure light came on, then I also found out that the 4 tires were at 28psi. after the "mechanic" at Dennis Dillon checked the tires (funny). after I took my car to Schwab's I spoke with the tech there who showed me where exactly the spot was to be concerned about, directly in the center of the tire, we checked over the sidewalls together to make sure that there was nothing overlooked and guess what? you guessed it. So we went over all 4 of the tires to make sure I was being told the correct issue. There were no other areas seen by me or the tech at Les Schwab. the spot was fixed within 20 minutes and I was back to being on my way. I then got the follow up service call from Dennis Dillon and let them know what had happened, I will say the lady who called was very professional and prompt, if this were a review for her it would be golden, but its for the service, which was not. She followed up with the customer service rep and tech at DD Mazda. I was called back by the customer service rep who wanted me to bring the car in and also gave me more options for tire purchases. (again not necessary), they also wanted to check over the car again to make sure nothing was missed, after the service I had this is not going to happen, poor business habits like this lead to losing customers. this is not the first time I have had issues with this place but always hoped they could do better, but this was the final issue. if you are new to the place or needing service for your car, please check elsewhere. attached is the photograph of the object in the "sidewall" which I was told was non-repairable and I could only have the option of purchasing 4 new tires. read more

Flew here from the east coast to help my daughter trade her Mazda sedan for a new CX-5. Prior to flying out, I spoke at length with a member of their sales team. We discussed some complex issues surrounding the trade (it was registered out of state, registration had lapsed). They gave me clear instructions on what to do and we followed them to the letter. Anyway, we get there at 10 AM and we're the only customers in the showroom. The sales guy I texted with couldn't be there, so he suggested we work with his friend, which we did. I'm leaving names out here because we truly don't blame the employees for the absolute sh*t show that followed. This is a customer service issue and accountability falls on management and ownership. Here's a summary of the absolute and total dumpster fire that was our experience: 1. It took over FIVE HOURS to get this deal done 2. They added a $2,000 surcharge on top of the MSRP 3. They added $698 of stupid aftermarket crap (Etch and some ridiculous flashing brake light that is "statistically proven to reduce rear-ending") 4. They gave us $1,000 less for my daughter's mint condition 2018 Mazda3 (with 21,000 miles on it) than promised by their online trade value "guarantee" 5. At first, the salesperson refused to run the numbers unless my daughter filled out a credit application --- really???? We have to apply before we can know how much you're selling this car to us for? 6. After the test drive, they sweated us out for 3+ hours. Back and forth, back and forth, excessive wait time, no real reason 7. The fees....oh my God, the fees: doc fee, acquisition fee, dealer fee. You name it, they tacked it on 8. The salesperson clearly was trained to use tired old sales tactics, such as trying to sell us on a monthly payment. Seriously? I also think the delays were intentional --- trying to wear us down We almost walked so many times, but I was only in town for a couple of days and knew my daughter wouldn't want to go through it all over again somewhere else. We decided to hang in and try to get the best deal possible by chipping away at all the add-on fees and built-in extra B.S. FINALLY, we were invited to the F&I guy's office to finalize the paperwork. Once there, something snapped. I literally went off about the amount of time they kept us there and all the back-and-forth. My daughter is 22 years old. She's a nurse. She works nights. She's a first-time buyer. Does Dennis Dillon Mazda really want to fleece her? The answer is yes. Here's the one bright spot: Ty, the F&I Manager (I'm naming him because he deserves major kudos). This guy was an absolute DOLL and very sympathetic to what we'd been put through. He immediately made some adjustments to the fees/costs and brought our price down to an acceptable level (NOTE -- they kept the $2,000 surcharge, so buyer beware). Ty is wonderful. He had us out of there not 20 minutes later. Here's the bottom line: car dealerships are dealing with major supply chain issues. I totally sympathize. They have fewer cars in inventory, which means they aren't selling the same volume as years prior. There is no real end in sight, so they've had to adjust their goals to meet financial objectives. Please know that I get it. Unfortunately, Dennis Dillon Mazda took it too far. Solving their profitability issues shouldn't involve inconveniencing customers, nor should it include fleecing young, first-time buyers (healthcare workers, no less!). Part of me wishes we had walked out the door, but I guess their tactics worked because we were so beaten down and exhausted that we relented. I feel dirty. The sales "professionals" at Dennis Dillon Mazda do not respect your time. They do not care how long they keep you. They also have no shame tacking on surcharges, aftermarket products you don't need, and random fees. It's high pressure, old school car salesmanship. I thought those days were long over. Nope. This was by far the worst car buying experience I've ever had and I'm in my fifties. I've bought so many cars. No wonder buyers are flocking to Tesla and Carvana - if your plans include buying a Mazda at Dennis Dillon, I would highly recommend getting your deal to 80-90% before you ever step through their door. I traded in my car, bought one from them (first off the car was listed at 23k online-I just noticed they charged me 29k also online it said 1k for trade in guaranteed-I got$500!) my first clue should have been the fact I was approved from the get go! I have horrible credit and more debt than income by far: purchased 12/31 denied for loan 1/15, they sold my trade in and wouldn't give me anything when I said give me fair market value or my trade in back and you can have your car back and so they came to "repo" my new car, although I didn't have a chance to miss a payment, they kept my trade in and so they took my original car and the new one I purchased and all while I had Covid and I'm a single mom who just moved here! They screwed me over! They harassed my work and made threats about jumping me if I came to the car lot, they used bullying, harassment and intimidation to try and shut me up. They are a bunch of scumbags stealing and ripping people off!!! I lost my job over all this! They are scum I also have a voicemail telling me to stay away from the bank they said I was approved from because the police are involved and they tried to convince me something was illegal when whatever they did to get me approved was illegal!!! My family and I have been loyal customers to Dennis Dillon Mazda for as long as I can remember and that is done and over with, because their negligence put me and my vehicle in literal life threatening danger. I went in awhile back to get my windshield replaced and my oil changed. They said they rotated my tires, which was half true. They only rotated the passenger side tires, so essentially one side of my car had more traction than the other which is the makings for a disaster. I found out because the very rainy weather we have been having has caused my car to slide around and I even spun out on the interstate no less. When I checked my tires and saw what had happened, I had to rotate my own driver side tires and have not had any issues with traction since. They are lucky I realized what happened before and accident occurred or I would be filing a lawsuit for negligence instead of writing a bad review. I am a young woman and am used to car dealerships trying to take advantage of me but this was a new low. They charged me around $100 for the oil change which is pretty normal but then they said if I wanted my power steering and brake fluid topped off it would be an additional $400+. Absolutely absurd. I can go to Einstein's and get the fluid topped of for free! Prior to this visit my father had taken the car in and they discovered a very tiny leak. They told him that it was nothing to worry about and it would be years before it developed into a serious problem. However, when I took the car in for the oil change and windshield replacement only a couple months later, they tried telling me that it was a huge issue that needed to be resolved immediately and it would cost me over $5000. Ridiculous. In addition, my windshield was never replaced because they broke the new one before it was installed. They said they ordered a new one and let me know when it came in. I never heard from them again. I went to fast glass a couple days later and got my windshield replaced same day for half the price. If I could select a negative star, I would. Purchased a Mazda sight unseen as pictures looked good and verbal description from both the salesperson (Meagan Hayes) and manager (Tom Hibbeler) verified there was zero damage to the car. I put down the usual normal $1000 deposit that is non-refundable for a car that was represented as good as the pictures claimed. After driving 9hrs 1 way to take delivery of this Mazda, the first thing I noticed was a large area in the drivers door that had body and paint damage that was not visible in photos. When I questioned both sales people, they both admitted that they had not seen the damage but now could clearly see the damage with me as the customer pointing it out. Absolute refusal to discount the car because of the damage and was told they would not give my deposit back. Bottom line this dealership is dishonest along with their names sales staff above. I went ahead and took delivery of the car in lew if loosing my $1000 deposit and 18hr round trip for nothing. I took the car by 2 reputable body shops and was quoted about $900-1100 to fix the damage, and the main sales manager (Tom Hibbeler) agreed at the time that the damage probably would result in $1000 estimate, but he told me that he would buy the car anyway if he was in my shoes as the damage outweighed the value in the car, and 100% recognized the damage. read more

Your customer service is crap, I don't understand why I would even file a claim with safeguard just for you guys to tell me that I have to pay you guys the day I have my key replaced and then I have to wait two weeks to get a reimbursement check. I would have never signed a contract with safeguard for a replacement key if I knew that I had to pay it out of pocket just so you guys can get paid the day of. This is pure stupidity. I had a terrible experience at this dealership. I purchased a used car and have been disappointed since day 1. When I test drove the vehicle, I noticed some sticky residue from soda in the cup holders and the car just looked a little dirty. I asked the salesman if they were going to wash it and he said no. I told him that the car is dirty and I would really appreciate them cleaning it before I buy it. His response was "it's a used car" and reluctantly had them wash it for me. On the test drive I also noticed a slight wobble or vibration in the steering wheel, the salesman assured me that it was just needing a tire balance and that they would do that for free if I brought it back another day. I got the balance but the problem still isn't fixed. When I left the dealership they only gave me 1/4 tank of gas. About a week later I dropped a pen between the seats and stuck my hand down to try and get it. I felt something stab my finger and when I pulled it out I had a fishing leure stabbed into my finger. (I have not been fishing since I purchased this vehicle). Shortly after, I was washing my car and discovered how absolutely filthy the car was. There was a chewed piece of gum in one of the rear door handles and more soda splashes in the cup holders among a lot more filth and grime. What really bothered me was what just happened last week. I got a flat tire on the freeway and had to put my spare on. After struggling to do this on the side of the freeway, I finally got it taken care of and when I got back in my car it notified me the spare tire only had 11 PSI! So I bought a truck back in August put over half down. Not even a month into owning the vehicle the transmission went out. I reached out to my salesman (Jeremy, awesome by the way). Set up an appointment with the service department. Dropped it off and to my surprise I wasn't given a rental or a loaner car. My career requires transportation for tools and travel between multiple job sites. Mind you I purchased an extended warranty and there is supposedly a 90 day dealer warranty. Needless to say I need a working truck! Well I've had a rental truck for near two weeks now and it's looking like it's gonna be at least another week before my truck gets fixed. I've had to pay out of pocket for this rental with no reassurance of reimbursement from Dennis Dillon whatsoever. I've even had to work more and lose time with my kids to pay for this rental so I can continue to pay my bills and pay for the truck to get fixed. I'm writing this because of the sheer dissatisfaction with Dennis Dillon and it's client retention and lack of customer service. read more

If I could give them a zero star rating I would...1 is too much. We needed a oil change for our 2021 Kia. After going to the quick stop Valvoline place they told us they dont have a filter for the 2021's yet because Kia has not released them. The Valvoline service guys called ORilley and Auto Zone to try and find a filter for us. Neither location had access to the filter. They then called the Kia dealership offering to pick the filter up for us. The Valvoline people tried to call the 208- 388-4444 and the call would not go through, thinking it was a phone issue they used a employee cell phone and tried again that call did not go through. After trying on my own cell and it not going through, I said I would go pick up the oil filter up myself. When I arrived at the Kia Servive department, After explaining the situation I asked for a filter for my car. The service rep said the filters are available and blamed ALL of the places we called for not having a "supplier". I asked him if they were having phone issues and he said that another customer had asked that question this morning and the Kia service guy didn't believe him because he had called his own line with his cell phone and it worked. He asked what number I had called and I showed him the correct number on my cell. He asked me to call the number while standing there and I did...it didn't go through. He then blamed my phone and said it was my issue. Horrible!!!!!! Customer service!!! Three separate calls from three separate people and they ALL DIDN'T go through AND THEN HE STILL BLAMED THE CUSTOMER!!!! While our salesmen was genuinely nice, the overall attempted buying experience was very unpleasant. We went by in cold January to look for a 2nd vehicle. After some driving through the lot, we found a salesman and starting looking at the Mazdas. After about an hour, we had found the exact car we wanted. During this time, I had asked about their pricing. The salesman informed me that nobody likes the confusing dealership experiences of yore. They are upfront: they just take their lowest price, add in all the rebates and discounts and post one "simple number". It's very clear in each windshield and is very clean. Indeed, it was just 2 numbers, the MSRP and their (very low!) "no hassle, no haggle" sale price. Their pricing was completely devoid of any sneakiness my wife and I were assured. Feeling better, I was excited to finally find the car I wanted on the lot. Price and datasheet in hand, my wife and I left and shopped the Camry and Accord with limited success. I like something with some sport, and we really like how the Mazda 6 was styled. When we got home, we went to Mazda's website and discovered 0.0% financing for 36 months. Great, free loans! I contacted our salesman right away and after researching the offer from his end, informed me that we could take advantage of the offer! One problem though, that sticker price on the window, you have to finance with the dealer to get that. Naturally, 0% isn't on his copy of the menu. My wife and I were aghast at this "zero hassle" experience. The new price, should you decide to bring your own financing (as we would with Mazda), or even pay cash? An extra $1,500! Stunned, we refused their "offer." We won't be returning. read more

I completed my lease on my 2015 Mazda 3 and went to Dennis Dillon Mazda to turn it in. There was no explanation of the process. No one even gave me so much as a business card. I basically was left to just stand around with my thumb in my ear. It wasn't until over a month later that Mazda USA sent me a letter requesting the final lease payment. read more

After a less-than-stellar experience with Mazda Caldwell, I called Dennis Dillon Mazda and made an appointment to have a recalled airbag replaced. I have to admit, I was expecting the worse after my experience with Caldwell but was pleasantly surprised. Not only was Harry polite but he explained what was going to take place and how long it should be. Everything was explained in simple terms to this non-car enthusiast but not dumb-downed. I love the fact there were no surprises and my time was respected; Mazda Caldwell originally told me the process would take three hours, Harry told me hour-and-half but finished in an hour. As a whole, the rules of auto sales are pretty straightforward. Dealers can negotiate down from their starting price, but they can't negotiate up. This is a pretty low bar - you can offer as many overpriced warranties and add-ons after the fact, but your advertised price is always where you start from. Most car dealers get this. Its one of the reasons why car shopping is considerably more pleasant this century than last. Dennis Dillon Mazda, on the other hand, does not. After finding some great prices on a 2014 Mazda3, I arrived at the dealership only to learn that their advertised price required a) dealer financing at high rates or b) me being a member of the 0.09% of the Idaho population eligible for every possible rebate. In other words, Dennis Dillon had no plan on honoring their advertised price. While frowned upon by the Idaho Consumer Protection Act, this wasn't entirely a deal breaker. What killed it was the comically unconscionable bait and switch. Interest rates several times greater than market rates, lease terms that would shift randomly throughout the negotiations - at the same time the scam was ethically reprehensible it was refreshingly transparent. How bad was it. I chose to spend more money on a pre-owned Civic than a new Mazda 3 than to support this dealer. If they were this rotten to new customers, just think how they'll treat you when you need warranty service! So if you're in the market for a new Mazda do yourself a favor just plan on heading over to Caldwell, Salt Lake or Portland. read more

They offered $1500 less for our trade than we got from another dealer on a similarly priced new car; worse than that, they flat out misrepresented the condition of the trade to try and justify their low-ball offer. Won't be back to a dealer that lied to us. read more

Took my car in for a repair first time I provided a computer for my car. They said my computer was bad that they couldn't start the car charged me $200. Had the car for 4 days. Then I bought a computer from them for my car cost $570. They had my car for another 4 days. They still can't get it started now they are playing the blame game. Saying that I need to buy another computer but it has to be brand new for the car to work. Truth is that either their technician's are under qualified or the company spends no money on training their techs. They are just part changers no troubleshooting techniques or problems solving skills. A train monkey can do their job of changing parts it takes skill and knowledge to troubleshoot an automotive issue which you won't find at Dennis Dillon Mazda/Kia. read more

I have been wanting a Kia soul forever and Dennis Dillon had the cheapest and best selection in Boise. I did not just do research on the car I wanted but also a few dealerships in the area. About 90% of the people I talked to advised me not to go to Denis Dillon because they were rude, unnegotiable, and didn't really listen to the costumers. Despite listening to the community I still decided to check them out. I walked in with what I wanted and the information of what I was willing to spend.
