When I mentioned it to Eldon, he "reworked" his estimate so it was closer to what the dealership was charging for the same work but still higher. So, we stopped going to them. Recently though my son's car wouldn't start and they were the only place near us that could get him in that day so we decided to give them another shot to see if they were still out of line. Again, another $900+ estimate and when I went in to see what they were charging him for, there was a lot of things he didn't ask for to be done (he just wanted it to start) and even some apparent double labor on some of the items (i.e. you have to take A off to replace B and since we are telling you that you need a new A, we're going to charge you to take off and replace B and A separately even though we needed to take off and put on A to replace B). Also, their diagnosis fees do not apply to work being done like at many other auto care places.

I mentioned certain issues that I've had for at least 5 years. They even wrote it down. I had a witness listen to me YET, they stated that the issue was not checked or on their checksheet as I did not mention it. It was the main reason I took the car in. Also, mentioning I had an oil or some kind of leak for about 20 years, they came back and said, well, if it keeps leaking, we'll do something for a certain hundred dollars. Why wouldn't they fix it at the time, afterall I spent almost $3000 with the ungrateful company. Not only that, the first issue that they said they couldn't find - started to happen when I drove the car home after payment. But told me to bring it back. Still denying anything stated they could fix for another $400. Since it was a holiday, I couldn't go pick up the car for a few days. They threatened to NOT CHARGE overnight fees. How kind (sarcastic remark). Since it was the first issue I mentioned that they denied, we asked for half price for repair. "Russ" wanted to negotiate only a $9 discount. How kind (sarcastic remark again). Although I realize a timing belt is expensive and the other belts replaced, I should have probably just taken the car to the dealership and spent my money there. Maybe if they cared about their customers and their customers autos that they've had for over 20 years, as much as they care about their own cars they mention on their bios. Took a couple days but that's expected as they took off the entire rear end and rebuilt it with new parts. Also offered what shocks I wanted and decided to go with the Rancho's.
