Dowdy's, however, went well beyond good service for me. We woke up with a car issue, did a bit of panicking, randomly found a place online that was near work, called the shop, and Dowdy's told us we could bring it in immediately if we wanted. They checked it out, diagnosed the problem, and then informed us that we were probably still under warranty and should see if we can get it repaired through the dealership with little cost to us. I'm not sure if the dealer/warranty will cover our issue yet, but I am pretty sure that I will be taking all of my future service to Dowdy's. They easily could have just fixed our car and not mentioned a cost saving alternative; instead of getting a quick buck, they have earned a future repeat-customer. After moving to idaho I needed to remove my out of state license plate. However the bolts holding…read morethe plate were so badly rusted that they could not be removed with a simple screw driver. I called various mechanics in the area and was quoted as high as 130$ at other auto mechanics for time and labor depending on how long it took. I felt that was too pricey for removing 4 screw bolts so I searched the highest rated mechanics in the area and found heritage. I called and explained my predicament and they told me to bring the car over and they will try and remove the plate free of charge. So I drove over and sure enough one of the kind mechanics was able to use some type of clamp device to carefully remove all 4 rusted bolts. Then he put the idaho plate on for me with temporary screws and let me know where I can purchase the new bolts I needed for my car. The whole process took around ten minutes and he said I didn't owe them any money, they were happy to help. I am so impressed with this company and their customer service and willingness to help someone. I will go here for all my auto needs and services in the future.

The mechanic didn't disconnect the battery and bragged he just put a rubber glove on the hot wire and 3 days later he fried some ignition parts. The motor turned over perfectly but wouldn't start. He then said it was the distributor and spent 1 hour FORCING it in and damaged the cam shaft so it froze and broke. They wanted $3000 to fix the damage the mechanic caused. The engine was taken to a machine shop and rebuilt that cost me $3167. Four months later they (after refusing to work on it 3 separate time for 2 weeks, they said that they would give me 72 hours to have it towed or the police would tow me. NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
