They were so helpful and genuine that I cried! I have been a loyal customer since then and have sent many of my family and friends to his shop with never a complaint from any of them. I've taken my vehicle to Pep Boys several times over the course of the past year, and…read moreunfortunately, I have been disappointed with my service each time. Lack of communication is a big problem at this location. On a previous visit, I had my car towed in on a Sunday, at which time I called to let them know what the issue was. I followed up again on Monday morning, because I know that there is likely different staff on the weekdays. I was given an attitude and was told something along the lines of "I'll let the mechanics do their job". Then when I talked to them later that day, after already telling two people what the issue was, the person on the phone asked "so, uh, what's the problem with your vehicle?" Unbelievable. On that same topic, they aren't good about calling to let you know what is going on with your vehicle. If you don't make it a point to call in and check, you could be without your car even longer than expected. Also, on both of my previous two visits, they did not hold the appointment time that I scheduled. My car was not pulled in for nearly two hours after the appointment time on both occasions. It's pretty clear they have trouble staffing this location. On a previous visit, I brought my car in early on a weekday. My car was not finished, and I was told they couldn't complete it for another two days because the person who was a specialist in that area was going to be off. On top of these things, every service that I've had done has taken way longer than expected. I think they people that they have may be doing their best, but lack of capable mechanics along with poor communication result in unacceptable service. This is the closest auto repair place to me, and I've given them several chances, but I'm done with them now.

This man rolled up to my driveway in a van that looked like it had already lost a fight with a tornado, a raccoon, and possibly its own sense of self-worth. He hopped out, spilled an entire soda, and said, "Don't worry, that happens." Sir. SIR. Why is that your greeting?? He opened my hood, nodded like he was understanding the secrets of the universe, then poked a totally random part and said, "Yep, that's your problem." When I asked what the problem was, he said and I quote, "Mechanic stuff." Thirty minutes later my car was making a new sound I can only describe as "haunted dishwasher screaming into the void." I asked him if that was normal and he said, "Cars make noises." Then he charged me an amount of money so offensive I think it might be a hate crime against my bank account. He drove away. My car died. In the same moment. Like they were spiritually connected and my car couldn't continue living after witnessing whatever he did to it. Finally that morning he came by. Told us the issues and told us what parts to get. We paid him $250 to buy the parts and $200 in labor. Not only did he get junked parts but none of them were good. I asked him to at least refund us for the money we paid in the parts. So he stopped responding. DO NOT USE THIS MECHANIC. He took our car parts and sold them for cash and our car still isn't running. We've had to have another mechanic take a look and begin to work on the car. This was a very unpleasant experience I wish on no one.
