The worst retail experience I've had for a long time. They have not returned any of my phone…read morecalls or emails and as a result, 7 weeks after returning a faulty iPod Touch I am still waiting for a replacement. Their ridiculous automated phone system invites you to [Press 1] for technical support. As a naive consumer who dropped off a faulty unit I thought that seemed a reasonable option...FAIL...after pressing one you are greeted with " we do not offer technical support, please contact Apple directly". [why ask the bl**dy question then] So back to the automated call options and [Press 3] for general enquiries....to be cut off. Try again...cut off. Try a 3rd time....cut off. Finally I had to make a special trip and drive to their store in Glenunga to discover my 10yr old son's iPod has been sitting in a plastic envelope for the past 7 weeks and so now finally having parted with some more cash the indications are that it will be sent back to Apple for a replacement. It shouldn't be this hard in an economic environment where retailers are complaining about weak consumer spending. On this occasion I am only spending a couple of hundred dollars on a replacement iPod but I am in the market for a new iMac. I wonder where I'll choose to spend my $2,000?

This is as good as it gets in Adelaide for an Apple Store until one opens in Rundle Mall soon--and…read moremaybe even after that. I have visited several times and always got courteous and knowledgeable service each time. Unlike many businesses, they don't look for reasons to avoid doing warranty repairs (perhaps because Apple pays them for the repair work). They have a good selection of accessories. Prices are pretty much list price-but you get that in all shops that sell Apple gear. If you need Apple equipment repaired or good advice on a new purchase, I recommend Next Byte. They have a location in Rundle Mall too, but I have never found the service as good there. Eat, drink and be merry--but not too much! JD

The delivery people were too lazy to do it and I paid for them to just leave it where they wanted - not happy!

The slogan should really be, "pay cash and we *kinda slash the prices (or at least to the same…read morevalue as what you find at Appliances Online)." Retail will never be dead, especially when there are people like my partner and I who look at all the reviews online, found the product and the price we wanted to pay and then still have to go in store for the final touch and feel. Good Guys guarantee best price and price match up to 30 days after purchase. They don't do free delivery and they only offer 12 months interest free but the product range for white goods is top of the range. Don't be in a rush when shopping here on the weekends. If an attendant comes up to you and you're not ready to buy I would still recommend latching onto them and making small talk like, "that washing machine sure is white" and "it weighs 20kg you say?" until you make a decision because you won't find another one for a good 15 to 20 minutes. Despite the painfully long waits, and the fact you have to stand in your department to wait, or someone else will jump in line, the staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and straight up about quality and value for money. Don't try asking the fridge guy about televisions though, he'll tell you he doesn't know about that "new-age" stuff. It'd be great if they had a ticket system like at the butcher shop so you could continue to browse and end up buying more stuff while you wait. But I guess they have their reasons for encouraging you to mill around like a lost sheep until someone serves you... Every appliance or white good we have bought from here in the past comes in a box/is pre-packaged and it certainly hasn't fallen off the back of a truck. So get down there and haggle! No, hang on, just pay cash and they'll give you about $20-50 off.

I emailed their support pictures of it, and followed up twice more in the coming days but never heard back. Eventually I had to call them, and they said that they could not just replace the part that was damaged - which was considered a spare part - but that I would have to return the whole thing, and it would take two to four weeks to be assessed and replaced. I told them this was not not be suitable, so instead would like a refund, but was then told that they could not guarantee a refund. Having looked into it, I found I was within my rights to receive a refund, so called them back and arranged the return. At first even though it was an online order, they wanted me to drive (3 hours) to the nearest store to return it, but I made it clear I was not going to do that, and they seemingly begrudgingly agreed to generate a return label. Whilst I was thanking them for their help, they were monotone and unenthused the entire time. They also said that they can put a request in for the refund, but it may still take a number of weeks. This also does not align with Australian Consumer Law. I won't be buying from MSY / Umart again, and would encourage others to note how poor their online reviews are now. I didn't check, as I know previously they were a good company, but I did not notice Umart had acquired them.

Save yourself a fist full of dollars by shopping at this factory outlet, as it has various…read moreelectrical items which just might be what you're after and fit the budget. And all items from the factory outlet carry a full warranty. The majority of the items here are either scratch and dent, demos or simply the previous model, not that there's anything wrong with that, check where the marks are on the item and if they're not going to be visible, then why not. With these particular items it just means the store cannot sell items which are not in peak cosmetic condition. As an example which is two years old but none the less, I done some research on which TV was going to be the best for us, good quality and had the features we wanted...so we settled on a Toshiba Regza 46". I can't remember the exact amounts paid but I can tell you the difference between buying it new from a department store and new from HV outlet was $1000, as it was the model just finished and HV was making room for the next in coming model that's the reason it was at their factory outlet. That's it...we saved $1000, got full warranty, wasn't a scratch n dent and it's still going strong, best investment. It also had alot to do with being in the right place at the right time, all the stars aligned and all that jazz. Hint: Do you research online, read blogs, get specs, etc and then look for where it is for viewing, how much it costs, take into account a small portion of what the sales people tell you as they get brownie points for sales, then add it all up in the end, because it's your money and your decision not theirs. Smart shoppers save. Note: 4 star rating for this HVFO store only!

You go in there and tell the guys what you need and they show you items that might be a bit less than perfect. The great thing is that quite often, there's the tiniest of dents or scratches which is stopping them from being sold in the normal shops. The way to shop here is to go to the regular HN stores, find something you want, look at where it is going in your house and know which surfaces are not important. For example, our fridge will be against a wall on its left side, so I could have bought one with a huge scratch on that side. I ended up getting a brand new Fisher and Paykel fridge and washing machine with a hefty discount. Also, they offer an extended warranty and delivery. The fridge has a tiny dent on the front which you can barely see and the washing machine has a scratch on the side, but as it's being built in, it won't be seen. They also have TV's, coffee machines, washing machines, cooktops and ovens, heaters, air conditioners and more. Definitely worth checking out. Also, all the items are tested to check that they still work fine.
