We bought one reindeer sausage dog to share as we were going to a sit down restaurant soon. The secret to the sweet onions is cooking the onions with root beer soda. Four days later we returned to Anchorage and this time we each had our own reindeer sausage dog. I thought the first time was better as it was more novel. We ate our dogs standing up as there are no tables and chairs.

It honestly feels like a food truck, except there's a little waiting area inside where you can stand while your food is being made. Simple, no frills, and exactly how it should be. They make the best breakfast burritos in town, hands down. This is a super small, family-run business--a dad and his son--and Oscar is back there cooking everything himself. The food is fresh, consistent every single time, and you can tell it's made with real passion. He clearly loves what he does, and it shows in the quality. This is one of those places you root for. I will always, always come back.

Unfortunately, I wish I had gone to a different food stand. The crab two parties were tiny, bread-y and not crabby at all. The slaw was a bag mix from Costco. For $11? I don't think so. The tomato sauce that was on top was good though. My dad's salmon cakes were equally disappointing. Maybe if they lowered their price or fixed their seafood to breadcrumb ratio, preferably in favor of more seafood, I'd give it another go.

I'm giving them 3 stars because I really think they have a lot of potential and would love to see…read morethem succeed! We were so optimistic - they're a bit off the beaten path (away from the subway and craziness on the corner) - basically a food truck with a picnic table - plus no one was in line - perfect (we thought). There was a guy taking orders and a guy cooking and there was 2 of us - perfect (we thought). I ordered chips and salsa, 1 chicken taco on a corn tortilla, a side of rice, and a Diet Coke (which the cook said he had) and my husband ordered the house burrito. After a surprisingly long time, our order was ready and we were served 2 steak tacos and chips and salsa. What?! Wait, then he brought some rice but set it aside. I ended up eating the steak tacos while he made the burrito and I asked for the rice and now he wasn't sure he had Diet Coke and seemed a little put out about checking because now he had some more customers he was trying to cook for. When I got the rice I figured out why he had tried to hide them (he should have thrown the rice and started again) - I think the pan used to cook the steak was used then to warm up the rice because the rice was full of little burned, charbroiled pieces of something. The chips and salsa were good - no guacamole. My husband thought his burrito was ok - I didn't like the steak taco - should've asked to redo with the chicken I had ordered so that was on me. Hopefully they can turn things around - potential!

I love that my M-F Barista is there at 6 and she knows me by my face and not my car, as her comment one day was "you have been in three different cars in the past week". Unsure....but thats super cheap! They aren't open on Sundays. Make sure to come down A Street to Fireweed (On left side, next to arctic office supply), if you come down Fireweed towards Spenard your going to have to make a U-turn at C Street (pain in the arse). If your coming Fireweed towards Seward you can just hang a right. It will be make life easier if you just take northern lights to A street, even if you have to make a circle.
