The guy running it was so happy and cheerful, gave us his recommendation of a spicy dog with grilled onions, sauerkraut and a sweet sauce ... we had it just like that and it was delicious. You can't beat a hotdog, chips & drink for $10, especially if it's really good. He also gave us lots of recommendations for local bars/ places to see while in town. Located by the Anchorage Trolley pick up and drop off in the Mushing District start of the Iditarod. We finished our tour and the cart was set up and ready. We bought one reindeer sausage dog to share as we were going to a sit down restaurant soon. The hot dog is split in half and quickly grilled. $8 or you can go with the meal $10 which includes chips and a soda. Condiments are available. We had ours with grilled sweet onions. The secret to the sweet onions is cooking the onions with root beer soda. Four days later we returned to Anchorage and this time we each had our own reindeer sausage dog. I thought the first time was better as it was more novel. We ate our dogs standing up as there are no tables and chairs. read more

We stopped here before our trip to Whittier. This little food cart is located right next to a park. We ordered a kiebasa and a spicy reindeer sausage. The couple working was extremely friendly, efficient, and the prices were very reasonable. In fact, the spicy reindeer sausage was themost low key item I had in Alaska, and the most tastiest too. A lot of positive reviews steered me here to check one out. It's not 100% reindeer meat as it is mixed with beef and pork. I really like it and you can taste a bit of the "gamey" meat. Our server grilled our hot dog buns and we got to dress it up! The location is great and it's across the street from wild scoops! Was driving by the Solstice and Juneteenth events, when we decided to visit this downtown Reindeer stand. Employees were welcoming, conversational and fast. The reindeer dogs were flavorful, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. RED is fully equipped with a clean and organized condiment and drink station. My new favorite Hot Dog stand, check them out across the street from Hard Rock Cafe! I work downtown and probably eat street food 3 days a week during the summer.
