Amongst everyone contacted me, Kirby seemed more genuine and professional in the replies. Time went by with another artic freeze last December. Ok, time to revisit my request. I messaged Kirby on Yelp. He remembered our conversation and replied right away, as usual. After I sent him the pictures, he quickly replied with a quote. Then, he agreed to show up on my day off. My husband wanted me to fix the front door since the freeze we all endured over 10 years ago. I tried my DIY fix from foam patch to stuck some towels, to seal the seams with packing tape to adding a drape... Yaddi yadda. Ok. Time to call a professional. Because it's an exterior door, it has to be fiberglass door because steel door will conduct temperature from outside. Hot out hot in and cold out cold in. No lying. I researched before agreed to get it installed. Also, because of the door frame had been badly damaged with years of abuse from the weather, everything has to go. I was told by some carpenters who wanted to just replace out the bad piece of door frame with a piece of wood plank. No way, José. I was so glad that I refused to get another DIY person's work and getting charged for a professional price. According to Kirby, his Mr. Handyman Kirby business has been handed down from his grandfather to his father... for generations. Kirby specializes in doors, drywall repairs and other handyman's tasks. He was professional and polite. My neighbor came by to inquire about his business. I had to give them his card and information. He gave 100% of his attention to my project. That's very important. So, he won't get distracted and delay my project. I really appreciate his policy in taking care of his clients. Guess what, I'm going to enlarge his business card and tape it to my door. I want to tell all my neighbors who installed this beautiful door. Thanks, Kirby!

He had a price quote before leaving my driveway Including a $435 "home show discount" When he got back to the office he "found some manufacturer rebates," and these two reduced the original quote by $1500 The price was also lower than the other company who gave me a quote Some other companies demand a daunting 50% deposit. Eight Point had a more user friendly approach They were able to come in just a few weeks to fit my schedule, and did a fine job. I told them not to run power tools (noise) before 8:00 am, and they didn't. I have a koi pond in the yard and couldn't have nails or debris falling into it; they brought sheets of plywood and covered the pond completely (photo). Their guys are go-getters, clean and respectful, hard workers - and the crew (photo) includes a gal, yes, up there hammering nails! As a female contractor myself, I appreciate that Greg had other jobs going on around the city but stopped by several times to be sure all was going well The team removed old shingles, replaced rotted decking, installed new shingles, ridge vents, gutter guards - all in one day (photo, mine's on the left) My neighbor had them do his roof too (no photo) and they were able to complete both in one day (each townhome is ¼ lot). As it fell dark there were a few things that didn't get completed, so, after having worked on other roofs all day, the team came back twice to finish those up. They did a good job cleaning up debris and nails, including from neighbors' properties The company uses some high-tech tools like drones to look at the roof. They hold weekly staff meetings, which I find impressive. And treat not just their clients well, but their employees, too A lot of reviewers mention their pretty roofs. I don't care much about looks - I care about a roof that's water and wind tight. I'm sure I got that, along with good service and fair price from Eight Point Exteriors
