Came back again to this lounge, and still left nothing to be desired from me. The food on this sad Saturday evening was a chicken dish, root veggies and either rice or pasta. On top of it all, when I walked to initially sit at a booth table top, it was still dirty and there was no one around to clean it up! While this club "looks nice" I am disappointed by the cleanliness and the food options, leaving nothing to be desired.

Faro salad with Brussel sprouts, squash and cranberries was nice and light. However the chicken banh mi was very disappointing with its dense bread and bland flavors. For the most part visitors were respectful except for one lady on her speakerphone talking the whole time about her apartment hunting in NYC.

There is a small room to the right as you enter before opening up to the large space which can be seen as divided between high top seating and chairs. There is a food area just to the right of the reception area. There is drink fountains and canned drinks. There is another decent sized room to the rear of the food area. Foodwise there wasnt any hot food but that could be due to knowledge of lack of passengers or COVID. They had snacks, saldas and wraps. Food was decent. I was at the lounge the day before Thanksgiving in November 2021 and the lounge was completely empty which was shocking to me as it was the busiest travel day of the year in the US. Maybe it was empty cause no one was traveling overseas? All in all a pleasant experience for Star Alliance lounge in Terminal B of Newark International Airport.

It is technically not free, but it is a solid perk if you have a United or Star Alliance account. It is also a convenient way to use a nice restroom and fill up on food before boarding. Food: The chicken noodle soup is surprisingly good and feels like something you would get from a restaurant. The tongs are always too small for the sandwiches which seems to be the case at every lounge, but the sandwiches themselves are decent and about a step below what you would expect from a place like Subway. I appreciate the variety in drinks which includes soda, coffee, water and juice. The cookies and brownies are also consistently good. Service: The employees are always courteous and attentive. They are constantly going around cleaning and are ready to help when needed. Overall, this is a very comfortable and reliable lounge experience and worth visiting if you have access.

No QR code digital zombie crap. Real, happy (yes, HAPPY in NEWARK!) humans. But QR code ordering is available if you prefer. Now, the food?
