I would have grab a glass of wine but the bar area looks busy. I only had about 30 minutes before my flight to SMF. I didn't have much time to explore and check out other services. We opt in for the private room with the TV and comfortable couches. A good variety of hot and cold food that gets replenish frequently. I like to hydrate before the long 9 hours flight and was glad to find water with lemons/herbs and fresh fruits. Plenty of non-alcoholic beverages, sodas and beer. They also have a self service mini bar with liquors, wine and champagne. I had a glass of the Altos 2024 Chardonnay from Argentina and it was surprising good for lounge wine. I have Global Entry so, I passed through immigrations. And JFK is a huge airport. It's a holiday weekend on top of that. The gentleman in front scanned by boarding pass and I was quickly on my way to enjoy the lounge with the 25 minutes I had left before boarding my next flight. I heard great things about this lounge and I wish I could stay for lunch but my flight was boarding at 10:45am, lunch was at 11am. The lounge is huge, spacious, bright and clean. Lots of seats. There's a big bar, different dining areas, a viewing deck where you can eat from or just chill, there's a "market", a bistro, etc. Being short on time, I only grabbed a few quick bites: Croque Monsieur (they toast it for you for 2 minutes), sausages, hashbrown, and a banana. Somebody took my drink order - I got a matcha latte which took over 5 minutes. Around 10:40am, they started putting out desserts for lunch. I grabbed a matcha tiramisu. I couldn't finish my matcha latte because I can't chug a hot beverage but it was delicious though. I still liked the variety of food for breakfast. They have pulled pork sandwiches, benedict, wraps, yogurt parfait, fresh fruits, fresh fruit cups, hardboiled eggs, sausages, hash browns, sandwiches, etc. Service was impeccable. Based on what Singapore Airlines consistently delivers both in the air and on the ground, it's reasonable to expect this lounge will eventually reflect that same standard once renovations are complete. Below is a breakdown of the current experience. ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 First impressions matter. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Ann Charles, whose professionalism stood out. In a lounge setting, the ability to read and adapt to different travelers is important, and she handled that well. Inside, the ongoing renovations are immediately noticeable. The wooden flooring shows age, sections of the ceiling need attention, and parts around bar and coffee area were covered in plastic from recent painting. Seating is a mix of updated and older furniture, which creates some inconsistency. That said, the bar design stands out. After showering, the area near the sink was significantly wet. Ventilation is another concern. While shower water pressure and temperature were good, the lack of proper airflow leads to noticeable humidity and condensation. On a positive note, the staff member who assisted with extra towels was courteous and helpful. CUSTOMER SERVICE: 4/5 Service overall was good. Staff remained professional, even when dealing with difficult travelers. My interactions were smooth and without issue.
