Beautiful pool with views of Calgary tower. Centrally located in downtown near Chinatown and bow river. And its less than 10 min walk to Stephen Avenue. I stayed here with my significant other and we loved the hotel. It was perfect walking distance to everything and we were able to park the car for an entire week and not even use it. The pool is superb as it actually isn't busy and we had the pool to ourselves almost every day at some point. There is a hot tub with the best jets a small cold pool and a sauna. I loved the views of Calgary tower from the hot tub. Overall service was impeccable and the location really can't be beat in calgary. So many food options surround the place. And so many activities to explore too. I felt relatively safe as well when my partner was on business and I wandered around alone. Highly recommended for couples business trips and even solo traveller's read more

Our stay was saved because of two outstanding employees, Rolanie and Rodrico at the front desk. We arrived at Delta Calgary Downtown on September 11, 2025 for the start of a tour. We were told that our reservation had been canceled because our name was not on the final list for the tour. What happened next was far beyond simple service. Rolanie took our tour information, confirmed that we should have a room and went to work assigning us one. She was pleasant and helpful and assured us that the mixup would be corrected. Once we had a room, Rodrico checked that our bags would be picked up in the morning and he determined that the tour company was planning to drop my 80 year old brother-in-law at a different hotel than us. Rodrico got on the phone and made sure that we would all be at the same hotel in Banff. He then made several calls for us to make sure that the Tour company hadn't made any other mistakes. All through the confusing process, Rolanie and Rodrico assured us that we were in good hands and we felt that everything would be straightened out because of them. I don't know what we would have done if they hadn't gone above and beyond normal procedures and helped us. They are the kind of employees that make Delta Downtown Calgary hotel a superior place to stay. read more

I don't think I will stay at this hotel. It is super disappointing! Please see my last review posted on September 20, 2019. Their pillows were super disgusting and I couldn't stop sneezing as I mentioned. Now I am just annoyed with more things on top with their service and aesthetic appealing of their room. Not only service was not great, apparently if you are working for a company and book through a company, they will not honor points. I had some sketchy feeling about this hotel before staying here. Someone recommended me to stay at this hotel and it was a bad idea. Hyatt, Hilton and Holiday Inn all gives the points to the person staying at the hotel. So if you charge the points to a corporate credit card regardless if it is your name or not, they will not honor the points. WOW,I learnt something here. The goal is to not give points for free stay. NOTE TO ALL FREQUENT TRAVELERS TO NOT TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF PAYING WITH CORPORATE CREDIT CARD. I am surprised that their policy is different from everyone elses. But honestly, from my first review, the dirty pillows were very disgusting. Who know there might be pests and bacteria issues at the hotel. Housekeeping usually make sure the room is aesthetically appealing than to make sure it has been sanitized and clean. If they can't make it aesthetically appealing than it raises a question of how clean this hotel can be. Please see my photos on the pillow case and bed. Also if you try to call Mariott, they will just make sure you waste your time by bouncing your call to different people. I spoke to 4 people over one issue. They will make sure you get tire and give up. read more

I had a nice, comfortable business stay at this hotel. Service was good, and the location was very convenient. You can traverse much of downtown Calgary through the connected bridge system, originating from the conference level of the hotel. The gym was also excellent, which is important me during my stays. Don't expect luxury, but for a Delta, this hotel is relatively modern and the stay was comfortable. read more

Great service from the front desk. The building is much nicer now that they've renovated. The pool has good hours. The gym is solid. Direct access to the +15 from the 2nd floor which is convenient. The cons: they could do a better job cleaning. I found makeup on a "clean" towel, hairs in the bathroom, and crumbs (from our takeout) were still on the carpet in the living room area of our room after cleaning service. If you are Bonvoy Elite: make sure you go to the Elite Pantry (lounge) on the 24th floor. It's 24h access. It's definitely one of the better 24h lounges. Has water bottles, so many options of pop, coffee (it's a single cup machine), teas, bread, bagels, peanut butter, jams, oatmeal, granola bars, fruit cups, charcuterie meats, ice cream sandwiches, Fiasco sorbets! We were staying on the 25th floor so it was convenient to just go down the stairs to the Elite Pantry. read more

The splendor of this magnificent hotel is only slightly tainted by the rude greeting I got by one of the concierge staff at the very beginning. I walked through the door and since I've never been to a fancy hotel before I had questions. They were sort of rudely answered. I didn't know what she was talking about. What did she mean I have to tap the hotel key to the elevator? Huh? The staff member looked at me and replied condescendingly. But with a few apologies and humble replies from me the lady then decided to show me how to use the hotel key. You tap it to the black box next to the elevator and then choose which floor you want. It's very high tech. The hotel decorations are so beautiful. I enjoyed the pantry in the executive lounge and the view from the 17th floor of the hotel. The room is so spacious and elegant. It was quiet and calming in my room. The next day the cold air of winter caused me to get sick and nauseous and the concierge members responded by giving me a free wellness tea from Starbucks and chicken soup broth made especially for me. They brought the items up personally to my room. I was very impressed by how sweet the morning and afternoon staff members were to me. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. This is the most beautiful hotel I've ever been to. read more

This is a very nice hotel. Clean.. nice beds and nice bathroom I would pick this hotel first, when doing business in downtown Calgary read more

This was our first time staying at this hotel and we had a very pleasant stay. The front desk staff was friendly and had us checked in fairly quick. Their self parking is super easy with an underground lot and elevator access that takes you directly into the lobby. We originally booked a king bed guest room although since I was a platinum Convoy member, we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom junior suite. We also received access to the Elite Lounge on the 24th floor, which was a very nice perk as we didn't even now this hotel had a lounge. The room was great and had a good amount of space. It also felt clean, which in this day and age is always a plus. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of counter space for our items. The living area had a few seating options as well as a nice sized desk. The couch even pulled out into a sofa bed which could be good for small families. The bedroom had a good amount of space and the bed itself was very comfortable. The main reason for not giving 5 stars was due to there being a fire station right at the bottom of the hotel. So all throughout the night, you heard the sirens blazing as they rolled out of the station. Nothing a little white noise machine couldn't help but still was a little annoyance from time to time. Overall though, we really enjoyed our stay here and would most certainly stay here again when our travels bring us back to Calgary. read more

Was really excited when we found a really decent rate for the Delta Marriott in Calgary for our trip! Our stay here was great. Because the room rate was so cheap, we opted to go with the valet parking and it was definitely worth it- it saved us a lot of hassle was a nice little treat. The staff was great; everyone was very friendly and helpful, which made our stay even better. The inside of the hotel itself is a little dated, but while chatting with one of the employees, she mentioned that they just go the approval for renovations, so it will be nice to see this location get a face lift! Everything was clean and comfortable- no complaints there! One of the best things- for us- was the pool hours. While it wasn't a 24 hour pool, it opened at 6am and didn't close until midnight. So even though we didn't get back to the hotel until 9pm, we could still use the facilities. Unfortunately, there isn't a free breakfast, but as we were brunching at the zoo, that didn't make a difference to us. All in all this was a great stay. Comfortable and relaxing, close to everywhere we needed to go, and a great price! read more

My experience: No chocolates No minibar in room No bottles of water in room Most closely had experience of Heidi M. & Jessica J: for me all the other reviews must have been some other hotel! I walked in and the beds look like they were 1000 years old and had already been slept in and the linens were not pressed or very fresh looking. Bummer. I am attaching a photo. Aside from not having any of the amenities other people discuss in their reviews, which really actually pisses me off, the hotel was completely mediocre. I am asking my assistant to book me at the Hyatt for my future stays. I had one meal in the very open and exposed bar area that was pretty good. I had one breakfast at the +15 bistro and it was pretty good. I ordered room service and it was pretty good. I checked out the pool and the health club. The pool is pretty tiny and enclosed a glass so kind of an aquarium for all to view you swimming or in the hot tub. But a pool. I check the weight room which consisted of about six cardio machines from 1994 and some all-purpose weight machine like a bow flex. Customer service was excellent. It is too bad that I was given such a sorry ass room. I will immediately return to my roots at the Hyatt read more

This is an easy 5/5 in all aspects but the ONLY negative would be the pool booking system. We stayed about a month ago with my wife and two kids (aged 3 and 4) we quite literally only came (as many families I imagine do) for the escape for the wife and I and swimming for the little ones. Apart from that every aspect of this hotel hits it out of the park. The concierge service went above and beyond for our family. The cleanliness of the rooms were 10/10. The room itself had beautiful views of Calgary (as many of them do given its location). You could eat off the toilet it was so clean. Every appliance/plug in and aspect of that room was functioning. A must stay whether you are going on a date trip with your wife, or a family get away. read more

I have stayed at this Delta over the years (as is was previously called The Delta Bow Valley). The location is excellent, as the proximity to most of the downtown businesses as well as several amenities in the area. Recently I've stayed and albeit the hotel is under a major construction project. There are several things I've not overly impressed about. Being a Marriott Platinum member, I was informed at check-in, that I had been "upgraded". Upon arriving at the room the room was a standard room, and I'm not sure what was 'upgraded' about it ? The construction project has almost the entire lobby of the hotel boarded off. There is a narrow passage way for the check-in area. The front desk is very confined and queuing up seems to be the norm. When I checked in the front desk staff were pleasant enough, but not exceptionally welcoming. As mentioned previously, the room was a standard sized room. The room seems pretty tired. Dark carpeting, bathroom fixtures that are past their due date for use, ineffective lighting. The desk area has the TV, some glasses & ice bucket, a lamp, and the hotel propaganda. With only ONE electrical outlet from the lamp. No USB charge points. The bedside clock-radio and lamp... no plug or USB charge points. Way in the corner, behind the small table with the coffee maker was the only electrical plug available outside the bathroom. The bed was comfortable enough, however the windows seemed very thin. Sound from the street below easily came through. The windows will open slightly, and even with them closed, it was fairly noisy. I was fortunate to be on a high floor so some of the noise was further away, but was still very noticeable. The Executive lounge during the renovation (on the second floor) looks like a room that used to be part of the restaurant, it's small with a cobbled together arrangement of tables to have food and drinks placed. No windows or view of anything from this lounge. During the construction the gym is closed. There is no mention of construction on website. No mention of the gym being closed. I heard (not from the staff - but from others that stayed there) you can use the gym at the Marriott hotel a few blocks away in the interim. Also with the construction there seems to be dust everywhere. The majority of the construction is on the top 5 floors (21-26) and yet on the 18th floor elevator lobby, there was enough dust for someone to write "Hi" in the dust on the top of the trash container. What's worse that wasn't removed the entire week I stayed there. Lastly the wifi. While there are actually cat 5 connection points on the desk, this doesn't do me any good as my laptop no longer has a cat 5 (RJ45) connection. Wifi is at best slow (think home DSL speeds from 10 yrs ago). During peak times (8.30-10.00p), it's not worth the frustration. Basically it's a brownout ! Overall, I've stayed at this hotel many times over the year. They have been a solid choice. Right now, I am really not impressed with the construction, as well as all the other items mentioned. For what is being charged for room rates, it's not worth it. I'll be looking for some other place to stay. Maybe once the construction is done, this might be an option. read more

Ambiance: Excellent Room: Excellent Service/Concierge: Excellent Parking: Expensive Location: Excellent This hotel is a solid 4 star in downtown Calgary. The rooms are nicely decorated and the view from the room we got was excellent. The Service is great as always with Delta Hotel. The location is a bit away from the main restaurants but its within a walking distance for sure. The concierge was very helpful and was patient to point out the places to visit and see in the city. He even got us reservations at the last minute in a hard to get restaurant. Now the downside due to the parking issue in Calgary downtown it was hard to get a spot sometimes. The weekend we were there we had to call parking management just to get the door open. They do assign parking to the hotel guests no matter what but it can be a hassle considering the parking is shared with building in the area. Beware though the hotel can get really pricey on the weekdays. read more

I lived in Calgary as a kid and I remember this hotel being there even then. We stayed here one night thanks to airmiles and it was OK. But just OK. The rooms were nice, however the bathroom had a lot of mold and funny things growing in the caulking in the shower. It kinda grossed me out. Also, the bed looked a little worse for wear which is not what you want to see when you walk into a hotel room. The staff were very nice and helpful and even let us check in a bit early. There wasn't anything particularly amazing about this place, but nothing particularly bad about it again. If I am paying for a room in the area I will probably spend the extra cash and stay somewhere a bit nicer, but for a freebie this place was great! The starbucks downstairs in the morning was a nice treat as well. read more

As a business hotel, this property should meet most of ones needs. Big property, the staff is always very pleasant and it's very safe. The lobby is spacious and includes the hotel bar, reception area and a Starbucks coffee. The rooms are spacious and have been updated within the recent years. While I have to say that the decoration is somewhat bland and on the dark side, it's still clean and the beds are comfortable. I tried the room service for breakfast and was served at the requested time, the breakfast was good if not stellar and the price was fair. read more

When we checked into the room the air conditioner wasn't working and the room got hotter and hotter. We had to leave to go to our function before anyone could come to look at it. Got back really late to a note that said air conditioner broken dial 0 to change rooms. Staff were really apologetic, helpful and moved us to another room at 1am. Great comfy beds, spacious rooms, nice bathroom. Parking is reasonable $10/day. Convenient Starbucks in the lobby. Great hotel to stay in. read more

Great hotel! New and clean layout, friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. No problems at all! The one downside: You have to pay for parking (because it's downtown) but that's to be expected for the main Calgary area. read more

I was stuck in the conference rooms on the main level for two days to do my first aid training. And was not happy about that. It was an absolute iceberg in there, even though we repeatedly requested they turn the heat up. The rooms aren't the best layout, we kept bumping into each other, or hitting our knees are the tables and lunch was not good. I wasn't even able to eat the one day due to being a celiac. Again, even though it was requested. For being a nicer hotel, I was disappointed with the conference rooms. read more

While not the most pleasing to the eye--lots of brick---it's still considered one of the nicer hotels in the city. And fairly big too; according to one of my industry contacts, they're only one of three that have mini-bars in the rooms ;) Speaking of which, their bar on the ground level is quite open so not a place to hide for a drink lol. Indoor pool. Do like their business/office area, far away in the corner. read more

Yes, this is a business hotel. Therefore, there will be no pool nor hot tub nor sauna. Having said that, this hotel is centered beautifully in downtown Calgary, near all the shopping and delicious restaurants. Additionally, the staff is tremendous! We celebrated a portion of our 25th wedding anniversary in Calgary and the staff treated us like royalty. Very specifically Jin and Marcel went out of their way to make our stay incredibly special. In-room touches and concierge's expertise were shown the entire time. Highly recommend this hotel! Thank you for a beautiful stay! read more

There were 4 of us staying in this one room which I had booked months in advance. The best they could do was give me a room with a nice king bed and a pullout, guess where I slept... the pullout. So I went home with a sore back, but that's not what I'm unhappy about. When I checked out they gave me my bill which was supposed to be 409 a night turned put to be 120$ extra and the only thing he could say was "it's taxes". I found he tried billing us twice for both mine and the other couples parking... So if I wasn't ripped off enough by the price of the room and the hidden taxes... they'd rip us off with parking! Then the other couple got locked in the parade for "not paying" and made them pay 40$ just to leave... Are you kidding me??? PARKING SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR STAY! The pool and hottub was dirty... like slimy on the walls and you could see the dirt... no wonder nobody went swimming. Yuck. The only good part of our stay at the delta hotel was the food was good... Hats off to the chef... Thanks to the kitchen the hotel gets 2 stars.... -Desiree read more

A good basic hotel, the beds are comfy. Pricey mainly just because of the area. Do not expect anything luxe. That said the staff were very helpful and did things like make sure I knew when my airport shuttle had arrived. Plenty of hotels these days don't bother with that sort of thing. read more

I stayed here on business for a week. I made reservations for a room with 2 queen beds but upon arrival found that they reserved a room with 1 king bed for me. Let the staff know of the situation, and they upgraded me to the executive suite for the same price (the entire week!) due to shortages of queen rooms. That was fantastic service right there. Pros: - Loved the upgrade to the 20th floor, fantastic view - Looked clean, smelled clean, room was speck and spam everyday - Lemonade in the foyer everyday (fantastic addition for me, I grab a cup everyday I'm back from work) - Loved the bottles of water and little chocolates left in the room everyday, it's the little details that get to me Cons: - the ONLY con that I have with the hotel is the front desk, I think Kelev was his name. When I walked in the king room on the first day I saw a fruit basket on the table. The same fruit basket was not present in the executive suite (probably due to the sudden change that the staff did not have time to prepare the room as well). I talked to Kelev to see if that could be arranged in the executive suite. And he told me that fruit baskets are pre-arranged and I'm getting the upgrade for free, I should be happy with what I'm getting for free and not ask for more. And, get this, started speaking in CHINESE to me. I was EXTREMELY offended. I was born and raised in Canada, spoke to him in perfect English, received the upgrade because the Hotel made a mistake in my reservation, and did not ask about the fruit basket because I was a penny-pincher! Anyhow, I did not receive the fruit basket. That guy needs to be trained more before he deals with customers. read more

So-so. Room furnishings were very dated, bedding did not feel very clean (perhaps they do not clean the duvet between stays). The room had a vague mildew-y smell, which was made worse when the heat was running. My stay was during the winter so I had no choice but to deal with this. Concierge was helpful, assisted me in locating a pharmacy open late at night and recommended a decent restaurant for a business meeting. The hotel restaurant and bar were not very good at all -- very priced and poor quality, even by hotel standards. Parking was exorbitantly expensive, and of course, the hotel staff were not forthcoming to suggest alternatives. I felt like I was nickel and dimed at this hotel. read more

What a great stay I had! To be honest, when I first got there, I wasn't quite sure it would be very great because the lobby was under renovation. As it turned out, it wasn't a bother at all. First, I was upgraded to a suite with access to the Concierge Lounge. Wow! Both were great! The staff was all great, and the people in the lounge were so very helpful with helping me find an item that I specifically was having difficulty finding in stores. They took the time to look for it online for me. Food in the lounge was served 7 days a week for breakfast and dinner time and was some of the best I have had in the many Marriott properties that I have been to in my travels. I hope they never stop, especially with the evening snacks and food items! I do have one complaint though. I was in Calgary for a Masters' Swim Meet and needed extra towels in the room. I did get them and was thankful, but it took a long time to get them and so I hope it was just a busy day and not the usual time one would need to wait for service from the housekeeping staff. I know they get busy, it was just frustrating not having what I needed. Oh well, I will still definitely stay there again! read more

Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, luxurious and comfortable beds, good in-room service, right in downtown....It checked right on so many factors and almost deserving a 5-star rating. So, why just a 3-star? There were a couple of problems --- 1) The WIFI and Parking was not free and it was another 30 bucks everyday for it. It's a bit expensive especially when you expect WIFI available these days for free. 2) At the end of our stay, we were charged for making phone calls from the room. Not one but many phone calls. This was very worrisome because I know for a fact that we didn't make any calls. How do I know? I knew because I had a cellphone with Canada and USA plan and made all calls from it. The lady at the reception fixed the mistake but it got me worried on why they reported these charges. Did the room service people make the calls in our absence? That would also be very worrisome because we always hang the "privacy please" thingy on the door. I would still recommend this place and it made for a fantastic stay at Calgary. read more
