I always give Delta high marks. They're my primary airline of choice and I try to go with them whoever I can. We had no issues on our flight out of Memphis yesterday using Delta. Why I will never fly Delta again... I tried to book a flight, but I didn't have the physical card because I had just gotten it and it was coming in the mail. However; I had the card on my Apple Pay. While I was trying to book the Apple Pay option would not pop up on the website nor the app. I decided to reach out to customer service to see if they could help me. I spent an hour texting customer support, all the while the prices were going up until it was about 120 bucks more than when I had initially selected my flight that same hour. They never figured out why I couldn't do Apple Pay; I figured it out on my own. Turns out you can't pay for trip protection and use Apple Pay. I ended up without trip protection and paying 120 dollars more for the flight, and they offered no vouchers/baggage charge waver/or anything for the price hike that literally went up while I was seeking help. They are the worst airline and I won't be using them ever again. Do yourself a favor and don't fly delta. Update: after a long wait I was on the phone with customer service and they refunded me $100 for the price difference. Don't go through the chat. They can't help at all. Go through the phone. It takes a long time, but they are courteous and helpful. read more

Don't fly Delta if you are wheelchair bound and you take your own wheelchair. They will not help you, at least in the Atlanta Airport. My son and I are both in a wheelchair. On April 1, 2025 flying from Baltimore to Atlanta they pushed us off the plane, threw our heavy bagages on our laps and said someone would be there to help us. A guy finally showed up, pressed a couple buttons on his phone and told us to go to T-4 as it wasn't even printed on our tickets. Then he walked off and left us to struggle with all our bags and trying to find our destination in wheelchairs, I started crying and we started making our way. Fortunately a Good Samaritan saw us struggling. He was a traveler, not an airport employee. He got us where we needed to be to catch our next flight. He was an Angel. We will never use Delta again if it all possible. If you are disabled and in your own wheelchair don't put yourself through their uncaring treatment. It's best to have them bring one of their wheelchairs to transport you so they will be forced to treat you right. They treated us like dogs and I'd never treat a dog like that. read more

We recently flew on Delta and experienced a 12 hour Odyssey trying to get from Orlando to Memphis. Our flight was initially delayed by weather, and while Delta does not control the weather, it does control how well it communicates with it's patrons. We received limited updates on the situation and frequently, those were contradictory. The situation further deteriorated when we boarded our fight only to find that there was a mechanical problem which was only announced after a lengthy delay. There were again contradictory statements and increased frustration after sitting in a sweltering aircraft and being asked to deplane. This did raise the question of why after having the aircraft sit unattended for over 2 hours no one had thought to inspect it during that time to ensure it's readiness and limit further impediment. Finally, once we had been evicted from our scheduled flight, there was an appalling lack of assistance. Regrettably, I have experienced previously in my travels with Delta; that when something goes wrong, there are an excess of stranded customers and pitifully few Delta employees to provide assistance. While pronouncements funnel the forsaken to utilize the Delta online application, it is sorely lacking in it's ability to provide accurate information or a workable solution. We were after lengthy delays able to speak with someone by phone, but this too, can produce haphazard results. In speaking with four different agents, only one appeared to have the competence to assist us properly; the others failed to direct us to a reasonable alternative or get us adequately scheduled. I am quite frankly astonished that we made it home at all, and that we were able to retrieve our luggage with only limited hindrance. The situation was nightmarish and only enhanced by the poor communication and lack of qualified assistance available to us. When asked to recommend Delta Airlines to someone, I could only say that when things are going well, you'll be fine; however, if there is a problem then like the sign at the entrance of Hades in Dante's Inferno " Abandon all hope, ye who enter here". read more

Airplanes aren't bad, just had a bad seat twice with a screaming kid and another kid kicking my seat constantly thoughtout the trip. Book comform+ to get a much better experience and not basic as it's literally on the bottom tier with back seats and cramped space. Every seat has a screen to watch movies and TV and listen to music which is cool but don't forget to bring your own headphones as they don't provide it for free unless you were in first class or something. read more

The Delta terminal has alot of phone charge areas. They have a charge area almost on every row of seats. read more

So really rethinking my airline choice. Boarded a plane in Memphis have seat 2D , the bins overhead are full with small bags, backpacks things that can go under the seat, I ask the attendant if she can help and she states, nope either go to the back or check it, she doesn't even bother to move to Assist me. I know I may get stuck in Atlanta and really need my suitcase she doesn't care. A kind passenger offers to check his for mine and she says too bad that will mess everything up. We are all boarded and now are sitting anyway as there are a few things that need to be taken care of first. This crew had no concern for me as a paying loyal customer. I would NOT recommend this crew and flight from Memphis to Atlanta, poor form Delta! read more

A few years ago I would have rated this airline a lot lower. After giving them another chance over a week a go on a couple of flights, and after seeing how they managed some weather related cancellations compared to other airlines, they are much more accommodating and willing to solve customers' problems instead of finding nice ways to say the customers are on their own... I have been traveling with an instrument, and even though that makes me nervous, Delta was very helpful in making sure the instrument was taken care of in addition to fixing some flight arrangements that had a few hiccups. They're improving, and good on them for listening to customers. read more

There aren't many choices for flights out of MEM anymore, which is sad. I usually end up flying Delta as they have the most flights but for how long. It is a rare occasion when I found a nice Delta employee at baggage drop but I did Saturday morning on April 25. This was a nice surprise. The lines were incredibly long at cheap ticket baggage drop off with only two people working behind the counter. There were two more at Sky Priority but they were not alleviating the back-up as it was more important to look busy than actually be productive. The lady who took my bags was the nicest Delta employee I have met in MEM in the last 3 years. I wish I could recall her name. She ended up being the third behind the counter and was pushing 2-3 travelers through her line to the other employees one. The gate agents can barely bother to smile or even thank you when boarding anymore. Not like Delta employees in other airports. I did enjoy flying on the new Boeing 717. Cushy seats that hadn't been broken in yet and quiet. Too bad that was the airframe on the short leg of the trip. read more

The last two times I flew delta, on one flight the Wifi was out and one bathroom didn't work, the other flight, they had maintenance problems. When you check in online, they don't give you your seats till you're at the gate. Then you have to stand in line again. The gate people are some of the worst human beings on this planet. They arbitrarily give seats to other people who are on standby and make us with confirmed seats wait. We are at the mercy of these asshole who is on a power trip. read more

Generally speaking I'm a Delta fan but they pulled the fast one by loading the plan, having mechanical issues, and then off-loading the plane. Everyone waited in long lines to try to get rebooked and in the end most ended up on the same plan a couple hours later and of course just had to live with missing their connections, though there were probably later connections for most like me. It meant getting home closer to midnight versus dinner time though. read more

Asked delta personnel where my connecting flight was taking off at and he sent me to the wrong gate. On top of that he told me they were completely boarded in which I hauled my butt over there. Stood at the wrong terminal entrance and was ignored by another personnel as I was trying to get his attention. Finally, they told me I was at the wrong gate and sent me off to where I belonged. Aside from the miscommunication. Staff was friendly enough and I got to charge my phone since flight was delayed. Guess rushing was for nothing. read more

Now I know why I generally don't fly Delta. First off, I could check-in and get a boarding pass but my wife was not able to and had to visit the counter. Walking up to the CPU Ted, a greeting person interrogated us for several minutes about our needs and kept trying to get us to the kiosk. Having travelled frequently I knew my wife needed to see someone and finally just said, "can we go to the counter please?" The lady was trying to be nice, but at some point, just let us move along: we were only doing what the web site told us anyway. After several minutes and 3 people working on it, she got a boarding pass but still no seat assignment and had to go to the gate to get a seat assignment. I was able to check-in fine from the hotel. However, at the TSA checkpoint, my mobile pass stated there was an issue and I had to return to the service desk. After another lengthy process, nothing was found in error. The attendant printed my passes and I was ale to get through security. In Memphis it wasn't that busy and I was able to walk right back to the TSA check point, if this had happened at a busier airport, I'd be extremely pissed off having to go through security twice and nothing be wrong with my reservation. Delia's implementation of mobile seems fine, but is very poorly implemented and executed. Nobody throughout the process: TSA checkin folks, kiosks (which can't scan the phone codes) simply didn't work once our entire trip. I had an uneasy feeling about this trip being booked on Delta having had similar experiences before, but a lot of time had passed to I was up for another try. No I know why I don't fly Delta. read more

My daughter went on a mission trip with our church youth group, flying from Memphis to Atlanta to Miami. When she got her luggage, her suitcase was ruined. Since it was a Saturday, I called Delta on Monday. At first, they said she should have filed a claim at the airport. But when I explained she is 17 and with a group of 32 people, the Delta agent put a flag on her account for the return trip. When the group landed, we took her bag to the damaged bag office and got a brand new suitcase, which retails for $140. They also replaced another member of our group's bag which was damaged on the flight down, and he and his wife were very happy. I was glad the office was open on a Saturday, since US Airways and United damaged bags offices were closed. read more

Employee we worked with was great but they seem to have a need for more employees as the line was long and not many people working the check in lines. They did keep the line moving at a decent pace. This airport needs more airlines though so the airlines won't be able to charge so much to fly out of Memphis. read more

I am sharing my complete disappointment and outrage with the trials and tribulations I experienced last week with Delta airlines. These adversities caused a significant loss of time resulting in a 24 hour day from my doctoral program at University of the Rockies. A not only unnecessary, but NON-EXISTENT re-route to Tennessee caused this delay which denied my rights with school to acknowledge the scheduled event as one out of three essential commitments and requirements for graduation. To explain, Delta cancelled my original flight from Minnesota to Denver as they were unable to locate a pilot AND had none on reserve either. So to "resolve" the issue and provide me with a secondary flight to Denver, Delta then issued me a flight to MEMPHIS, TN for a Denver connection with United Airlines??! Upon arrival to Memphis, a Delta agent informed me that such a flight did not even exist!!! So I was then stuck in Tennessee, EVEN FURTHER AWAY from my destination with EVEN LESS TIME and opportunity to get there!!!! Delta then placed me on a flight to Atlanta and then to Denver by midnight. At this point, I had been to two states and waiting in various airports for almost eighteen hours. The Atlanta flight was also ultimately delayed, thus preventing me from making the final flight to Denver that evening. So, after receiving this information and waiting for an additional several hours to find some kind of a resolution, Delta then gave me a hotel voucher to remain in Memphis for the night with a shuttle to bring me to said hotel. The shuttle did NOT come. I was stranded for more than another hour at 10PM outside of the airport alone. When A shuttle finally arrived, the driver took me to the prearranged hotel, dropped me off, left immediately, and the hotel was not only booked, but did not accept hotel vouchers either!!!! It was now midnight when I found myself sitting on a curb in Memphis w/all of my luggage and no idea where I was or what to do next. My costs for this degree are quite substantial to say the least, and the first flight cancellation for no pilot, the non-existent re-route to a connection in TN to Denver, and the so-called voucher for a booked hotel more than 40 miles away from the airport resulted in a cancelation for my 16 hour mandatory reservation and was truly a devastating occurrence. I am completely disgusted with the hardships that Delta airlines exposed me to on this trip. While it is understandable when flights become delayed and/or cancelled, especially when there are system failures, it is absolutely not acceptable to place someone on a flight with a different airline that is a completely fraudulent route as well as an entire waste of time and then to continue making the situation so much worse by offering useless vouchers for a hotel that does not accept them and is entirely booked anyway. At this point, I was without sleep for 24 hours and was scheduled for yet another flight only a few hours later with no place to go or to sleep. Furthermore, it was equally devastating to witness other Delta passengers sleeping on the floor in the airport while grasping their belongings with nothing but red blankets bearing Delta's name. I travel fairly regularly. About eight months ago I found out I was going to be flying a lot more. So I went out and bought a nice Samsonite bag. The very first flight with my new bag the airline ripped the outside pocket zipper open. I have been living with that and the five rips that are in the bag as well. This week they managed to rip the main zipper out and now I can't close the bag. So I stop by baggage claim to find out what could be done. I was told they did not cover zippers. I ask what do you cover? Well we do cover the bag I was told. So I said okay what can you do about these five tears. They looked at me and said that claim would be denied. I asked if you don't cover the zippers and you don't cover the rips and tears what do you cover? I was told they only cover the bag if it was destroyed. I said it is destroyed I can no longer use it. They said well but that's the zipper. They did go get a manager who came out and look my bag over and said I'm sorry to say we don't cover any of this damage. I said this bag is less than a year old. I was told that if you fly a lot you would expect to have to buy a new bag pretty regularly. I thanked the agents for their time and left. Personally I don't feel this is acceptable. read more
