Our group met up with our tour guide Anthony at El Camino in Pineapple Grove. We were given a short introduction and sat down to our first tasting starting with Margaritas, Home Made Chips with Red and Green Salsa and Brisket Quesadillas. What a great way to start the fun. Next stop was a real surprise, an Asian Street Food location off the beaten path called Goodies. We sampled a delicious fruit tea and a new item to me JianBing, an Asian chicken burrito with a crunch which made the taste and texture exceptional. We actually watched the chef create this on a crepe maker! (see video) This is a great affordable lunch stop in Delray! Next stop, Beer Trade company very conveniently located next door to Goodies. Everyone was offered a beer of their choice from a HUGE selection in the cold case and on tap. It all started in Maryland so Old Bay was a great addition to their Honey Old Bay wings recipe marinated in what else BEER. They were crispy and sweet with quite a kick! We also sampled the risotto balls - yummy! We walked a few blocks to stop #4 Death by Pizza! The owner Koby greeted us and gave us some background of this Detroit style pizza company which has become a very popular location two blocks off Atlantic. What a treat! This business is take-out only so we stood outside and sampled a square thick crispy crust slice topped with amazing cheese and tomato sauce known as The Enemy! I can see why..i gained a pound in the sampling but boy was it worth it!! Sadly one last stop, (i was FULL but having way too much fun) @ Dekes Coffee. Nico, a young visionary, gave us a full explanation of the coffee making process as we sampled an affogato, espresso shot over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. If you like strong unsweetened coffee, this is your coffee shop. From coffee plant to green coffee beans to the roasting process, we saw it all. Unfortunately, I don't remember where the coffee beans originated in our espresso affogato, however Nico spoke of Ethiopian coffee as one they serve often. I would highly recommend this tour as a chance to sample some great independent restaurants in Delray. Our group seemed to be most impressed with the gems we found off the beaten path. We met up at the Everglades Safari Park. Captain Bill took us on a small airboat all around the everglades. We were able to see alligators, birds of all types, turtles, and the different plants of the everglades. Captain Bill told us details of each one. When alligators approached the boat, he called out to them to encourage them to approach. He also made sure we got a good picture by coaxing the alligator to open its mouth. He even seemed familiar with the individual alligators- he told us which ones had gotten into a fight and where they had been hurt. He was also very good at pointing out turtles underwater and baby alligators in the swamp grass (so cute!!!) He also told us about the history of the swamp and pointed out historical sites, such as the cottage where Dwight Eisenhower took fishing/hunting trips. After the tour, the captain brought us to the Everglades Safari Park to enjoy the alligator park. There, we watched the typical alligator show (entertaining and fun for the family) and walked through the exhibits. There is a decent cafe there, too. I would highly recommend this company!! The captains really care about the everglades and the flora and fauna. They are very friendly and informative. This is definitely a terrific experience, you won't regret going on this airboat tour.

I was simply amazed at how well-organized each event was. So many people to deal with and so much to organize, and they did it well and did it with a smile. My biggest complaint (and it's not a big one) was that the last event had a slightly long check in line-- but nothing too serious and the fact that they had hor d'ouvres and champagne being passed definitely eased any minor 20 minute inconvenience! I also had good experience booking (online), prices were as agreed during set up, no surprises, etc. Overall 5 stars and I won't hesitate to travel with them again. BTW, I'm writing this after watching the Fyre Festival Netflix documentary--it is crazy! The events Cloud 9 does are different (no models, haha ;), but if I had seen it before going on these trips I'd be super worried. Figured others might appreciate the re-assurance about Cloud 9. They are legit. I think back on these trips as some of my favorite adventures & am thankful to Cloud 9 for putting them on!

The Cason Cottage was built in 1924 for the Reverend John R. Cason Sr. and his wife as their…read moreretirement home. It's a vernacular style home which was very common during that time period. It has craftsman cottage details. The Rev. J. R. Cason moved to Florida in 1905. He founded the first Florida orphanage in Volusia County. He also served as a municipal judge and as the Chairman of the Palm Beach County Board of Public Instruction. Cason United Methodist Church is named after him. The Cason's son, J.R. Cason Jr. also came to Delray in 1905 and set up a medical practice while his brother in law James Love opened the communities first pharmacy in the post office. The city of Delray Beach and the Delray Beach Historical Society worked together to restore the cottage in 1988. The house is furnished in pieces that were either purchased or donated. The cottage is operated as a museum by the Delray Beach Historical Society. It is open November through April and tours are $5. Also located in the same area are two other historical homes that the Historical Society operates, a 1926 Florida bungalow and the Ethel Sterling Williams Archive & Learning Center in a 1908 farm house.
