I made an appointment to have my 2024 Crosstrek oil change and tire rotation. There was a mixup about my out of state dealer maintenance warranty, and the service team actually got to the bottom of it and honored what I'd been told on the phone. I recently found myself in a bit of a pickle. My older car started having some issues and was in need of quite a bit of maintenance. It wasn't the most cost effective to continue to keep fixing a car this old so I decided it was time for a new one. With the current state of the pandemic and supply chain issues getting a new car or an affordable used car isn't as easy as it has been in the past. I called several dealers and the only option was to order a new car and have it built. I wasn't sure if my present car could make it 2-3+ more months for a custom car to arrive so i was hoping for another option. My aunt suggested I call Kara at Della Subaru in Plattsburgh, I am glad I did! I was able to get in touch with her quickly. Kara was extremely helpful, responsive and understanding of my situation. This dealership was getting quite a few cars in within the next few weeks. She was very patient and thorough in explaining the options of what was coming, helped to answer all my questions and assisted me secure my choice with a down payment. Kara offered all the options, bells and whistles that were available but didn't pressure me into anything I didn't want. It was very easy to work with her over the phone, email and text since I am about 5 hours from her dealership. She kept me up to date on what was happening throughout the process. Picking up the car was a breeze. I was able to test drive it before I finalized the purchase. I was told before I came down that if for some reason I wasn't happy I could get a refund on my deposit and I wasn't tied to this car in any way. This gave me a great piece of mind. This is the first Yelp review I've ever written. On Jan 29th, late morning, I stopped by the dealership to see what had changed since I purchased my last Subaru. I entered the sales floor looked at the back of the Subaru Forester they had on display. Walked to the front and studied the comparison of Subaru to the competitors. Went to the driver's side door and read the sticker on the handle describing the new experience I was about to feel, then got in and sat in the drivers seat. Tried to see if electronics would start but not surprisingly it would not. After a minute or two examining the interior of the car, I got out and walked around to the front of the car looked at more of the literature and then walked along the side and looked at the roof rack and accessories on display. I stopped at the rear of the car again and then walked out. Although there seemed to be at least 6 or more sales people on the floor, only as I had my hand on the exit door and leaving did a woman say "Hi." I was the only potential customer on the sales floor at the time. On Jan 30th I called the dealership and stated to the sales manager that I was surprised that not one salesperson came over and asked if they could help me. I was more surprised by his first response. Our sales people have more to do than just wait on customers and they were probably all busy with other sales tasks on their computers. I may be in the market for a Subaru within the next 12 months, but probably not from Della Subaru. read more

I will never again go to this dealership and will travel excessive lengths to use my Subaru warranty after the way I've been treated. Little back story I'd heard nothing but terrible things from this same dealership under the name McBride Subaru and was very excited when I heard Della took it over. I went in at the beginning of March with my mom to look at cars and getting out of my lease early on my other car as I was over miles. Unfortunately the payments just wouldn't work yet and I told the manager Brian this. He then insulted me and told me he didn't think that my credit score would change before my lease was up and he'd be able to help me, but the payments were less than an extra dollar a day and I should take the deal. I told him no I couldn't do it and got up to leave. He then followed me out of the dealership to make comments about gas milage at which point I should haven known not to go back but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Worked out a deal to get a brand new Subaru Forester lease in exchange for my current lease and was told by my sales rep they would be buying out my lease so I wouldn't be responsible for my excess milage. The ONLY reason I agreed to get this car because I was trying to not pay over that. Went over all the features with my sales rep Chase had him talk to my insurance because the VIN was pulling up an they recovery system that wasn't listed in the online details. They say everything up signed my paperwork and was on my way. Fast forward to Monday when I'm working with my insurance agency to switch insurances and it comes out I need proof of theft recovery system for a discount. I called the dealership and Chase wasn't in he'd call me tomorrow. I e-mailed back and forth with Chase on Tuesday regarding the issue but never got any further. When I talk to my insurance broker find out she hadn't heard anything either. I called the dealership and Chase no longer worked there. Starting to get red flags that something isn't right. Finally get transferred to another sales guy and find out Chase had lied to my insurance company and put this device on my insurance my car doesn't have. I'm not thrilled about it but let it go. Fast forward a month and I get a bill from Toyota about my milage over that was suppose to have been taken care of when Della buys out my lease. I call and was told oh no we didn't do that just made your last payment. I explained that Chase told me they were buying out my lease and I wouldn't have to pay it. Spoke with Sean the other manager and he refused to help in anyway even though his sales rep miscommunicated information and has lied to me twice now. He then accuses me of changing my story multiple times (I've talked to him exactly twice about the situation) and being hostile the moment I came through. He went as far as to tell my Brian never followed me out of the dealership or insulted me either. Clearly their business practices haven't changed and I will not be recommending them to anyone or ever going back. I will never again do business with a Della Dealer and if I can figure out a way will be transferring my lease out of this dealership. read more

My Subaru Ascent was having a number of strange electrical issues and wouldn't start right before leaving for our cross-country drive to California. Casey was incredibly helpful. After some attempts at troubleshooting, he suggested getting a jump - and knowing that we were trying to leave for our trip, offered to drive out (40 miles) and jump our car if the Subaru Roadside Assistance was going to take too long. Can you believe that? He even offered to talk to the tow truck operator when he came to jump the car to make sure everything was done right. Just incredible service!
