I went to buy a knife and he sold me a couple that had been abandoned. It was well sharpened. It's a lovely place that does a great job. I thought the price was reasonable, and the people are very nice.. It's a little tough to find the driveway because you're actually going down the driveway between two buildings. I had the privilege of meeting the owner the week before Christmas. The key on my car fob was not working properly. The fob would unlock the car doors, but the key would not fit into the lock, and this made me nervous in case the battery would die (I wanted to be able to open the door manually in that event). I was given very personal service and the owner was able to solve my problem in no time at very minimal cost. To top things off, he had just had carpal tunnel surgery on his dominant hand, but still used that hand to manipulate my key fob and get the job done. Can't recommend him highly enough! read more

I received a set of Wusthoff knives for my birthday last year. I really like them and use them daily. I noticed them dulling a bit the last month, but didn't feel confident in my own sharpening capabilities. Della Polla is a 10 minute drive, so I figured I'd have them sharpened locally. I was very happy with the entire process. The sign on the door says masks required (excellent), it asks you to allow only one customer inside at a time to ensure social distancing (excellent), the turnaround time was one day (excellent) and the cost was reasonable (excellent). I had a nice chip in the blade of my favorite chef knife. I brought it into Della Polla, half expecting them to tell me there was nothing they could do. A replacement was going to cost me $250. They told me they could grind it out. I dropped it off on Tuesday. By Wednesday, I got the call it was done. They let me know that there was an additional charge because they had to do more grinding to get past the chip. $7 total. The knife is as sharp as the day I bought it. I'll definitely be bringing my knives here as needed. read more

Lock on front door was stuck, had been sticking for months, couldn't unlock the door. Called and Mike was out the next day and fixed it without needing to replace the lock. Lost the only key to my Honda - was easy enough to book an appointment, but did not have a great experience. There were some problems with opening the driver's side lock in my car, and he had quite a bit of trouble (2.5 hours) spent lock picking the drivers side lock. That on its own would be fine (and is quite possibly just something wrong with my car), but now the drivers side lock of my car does not work, and the car alarm goes off every time I open the door or start my car. I was told that "this was fine" and to just ignore it because the alarm stops going off after 2 minutes, and to make sure I don't lock the car, and that I could spend another few hundred dollars to get a key with buttons made if I wanted to try that, since the drivers side lock doesn't work. When I said I wanted to call around and see if any other businesses might have the key I need (with buttons) in stock, I was discouraged from looking, and told that I should instead hurry up and call to order one from them (and that I could pay extra for next day shipping if I wanted), that no one else is going to have them in stock.... but the first other place I called had several. Now maybe cars are not their specialty, but I can't recommend a place that takes my couple hundred bucks but has no problem leaving my car in a state that I can't drive it, and would actually recommend that I just keep driving it around with the car alarm sounding off. read more
