    And the RAM

Just did a work out at the Y and was a bit hungry. As I passed the RAM I remembered they had a Cinco de Mayo celebration. Unfortunately the storm early in the day seem to keep people away. Not a big turnout around 5pm. Had their Chicken Kebabs with rice and pico de gallo. The chicken kebab was nicely seasoned and had a orange color like paprika on it. The mixed rice looked like Basmati Rice with peas, capers and finely chopped vegetables. I split the one order with my friend and it was sufficient. They also have Beef Kebabs and a special Cinco de Mayo special that was spicy. I'll try to catch the Delish Kebabs again.

There were various food trucks in attendance at Jacksonville Beach's Freedom Festival last Saturday. My wife and I chose Delish Kebabs first and shared the chicken kebab with fries ($10). The chicken kebab was grilled and packed full of flavors. It was tender and moist. We both enjoyed the fries too. Someone had an order of steak kebab with rice and it looked so good, we both agreed that we needed to come back for that. We walked around and grabbed a couple of brisket tacos from Twisted Okie food truck and some wings from Wingin' It afterwards. After eating some wings, we decided to head back to Delish Kebab food truck to get the steak kebab and rice and eat the rest of our wings with it. The steak was tender and the rice and pico ($12) went well as a plate. It would have been nice if their plates come with two skewers instead of one. Friendly service. I hope Delish Kebab visits Metro Square Office Park one day and serve us for lunch.

I love Atlantic Beach's Cultural Corridor for hosting The Socially Distant Food Truck Roundup every Saturday. One of the trucks is Delish Kebabs, a mobile Brazilian steakhouse. I decided on the linguica sausage kebab with rice and pico de gallo for $12. First thing I noticed was they serve your food in an environmentally friendly takeout container that's possibly compostable; love it! It came with one sausage kebab; for $12 I wish it came with two but the sausage was very flavorful and good. It's charcoal grilled and slightly smokey. The long grain rice was fragrant and the pico, albeit a little more salty than I'm used to, pairs well with it. It came with a side of creamy home made cilantro sauce that was so good I wish I got an extra one. They also serve bacon wrapped chicken, regular chicken, and steak kebabs plus a decent variety of sides. My eye was on the yucca fries so I'll try them on my next visit. Overall, if you're a fan of Brazilian steakhouses, I highly recommend Delish Kebabs!

If you haven't tried this food truck you haven't lived! The kebabs are AWARD WINNING! I'm grateful one of their food trucks come downtown almost weekly to provide us with yummy food. I've had both the chicken and steak. Both are amazing and so is the cilantro sauce. They are consistent with the flavor and amount of food they offer. Delish Kebabs is the perfect name for this food truck!

I like good surprises, and this food truck was a really, really good surprise. Over the course of the last three months, I've been going out of my way to try all of the food trucks. This one is easily one of the best. I got a steak kebab, which came with fries and sauce. The steak was fine, it was cooked properly, and it had a good a good beefy flavor. The real winner was the fries and the sauce. Nothing beats crispy fries and a nice garlic sauce in my opinion, and these fries were light while still having a satisfying glassy crunch. And the sauce, wow, so much flavor in every bite. The price was really good too, $10 for such a high quality food experience is a steal, especially compared to some of the other food trucks that come by my office. My only complaint is I wish I got more sauce, but hey extra is only .50 cents more so that's not a big deal for me. Highly recommend!

Tried this place at a recent Taco Fest in Jax. We were initially confused on why a kebab place was at a taco festival but we were completely sold once we tried their steak tacos. It was a flavorful Brazilian twist on tacos and we were definitely fans. We also tried one of their chicken kebabs and fries and that was even better than the fries. The flavor in that kebab was unmatched. All of the food was amazingly fresh and the guys working the truck were cool. I'll definitely be looking for this truck in the future to satisfy my kebab fix!

Ever since I worked with Heloisa back in 2015 to book this food truck for a corporate event, I've been in love with these guys. If you haven't tried them yet, you absolutely must. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu, but my personal go to order is the steak/top sirloin kebab (just the right combo of seared beef fat and medium done mouth melting beef) on top of french fries along with their absolutely taste-bud exploding creamy cilantro dressing. Seriously, this dressing could make old socks taste good. If anyone manages to wrestle the recipe away from them I will name my firstborn after you if you share it with me. This is a great truck managed by an amazing team who flawlessly turn out crowd-pleasing food and are good for both lunches as well as corporate events. Just remember to always buy an extra portion of the cilantro sauce.

This was one of the food trucks parked downtown on Hogan St. It had the longest line so I figured it was the probably the best option. After standing in line for about 5 minutes I got to the window to place my order: chicken kebab with mixed rice combo. Unfortunately they were out of mixed rice and only had white rice. "The only difference if no carrots, peas, or seasoning." Seems pretty different to me, but I didn't want to stand in another line so I got it anyway. It took 8 minutes to get my food after placing my order. The chicken was tender and pretty good but overall the dish was bland even with the sauce. With the amount of time everything took and the flavors, I think I'll try a different truck next time.

I love this food truck! By far my favorite. The meat is always well cooked and moist and they have great fries! Pro tip: Always order extra cilantro sauce. You're going to want it!

Wowzie wowzie woo woo!!! I'm so hooked on this gem of a food truck. For a while I've been hearing it was a must try. I was graced with their presence at work and my was it an experience! So I decided to go with the medium well steak and yucca fries. Now I've been to Brazilian steak houses and I have to say this meat was cooked spot on! It was tender, juicy, and that slight burnt ends from the grill flavor had me melting! The yucca fries were good with that yummy cilantro sauce. Now their yucca bites even better, those are yucca dough stuffed with meat deep fried, yeah they always run out fast! I highly recommend this delish truck!

I hadn't eaten at this food truck yet and it was over at the Food Truck Food Court today so off I went. My foodie friends say that they have some of the best kebabs in the city. Really? Checking out their menu board they didn't have a wide variety but then that just means that they have perfected what they did have. I went for the Bacon Wrapped Chicken with Fries drizzled with Cilantro Sauce and apparently it was a hot selling item as people in front and behind me were ordering the same thing. Such wonderful smells were wafting out of every opening of the truck. I got my food in a few minutes and I had to try a fry with the sauce immediately. They were lightly seasoned and paired well with the light and refreshing taste of the sauce. Now the chicken kebabs? Wow. They were cooked just right and were still juicy. The bacon was not greasy and added the right amount of flavor and saltiness to the tender chicken. Excellence all around. Now I know what my friends were talking about and now I'm telling you. Go kebab it up!

Steak combo (1 skewer of meat, rice, and pico de gallo), $10.25. Meat is delish but really should have came with 2 for this price.
    Alyssa P.

Definitely deserving of it's name; the kebab is delish. We ordered a steak combo which consists of one skewer of steak, rice, pico de gallo, and cilantro sauce for $10.25. The side of rice is adequate but portion is off balance with the one skewer of steak. Not only that but for the price, it should have came with at least two sticks. The flavor was great, just on the pricey side IMO.

I ordered the short rib, and it was outstanding--perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and served over a rich parmesan risotto that struck the right balance of creamy and savory. The red wine demi-glace brought everything together with a deep, refined flavor that you'd expect from a much more upscale spot. The crispy pork belly, though, completely stole the show. Easily the best I've ever had--perfectly crisp on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. I travel frequently and dine out often, so it takes a lot to impress me--but this place did exactly that. The atmosphere was relaxed and authentic, and despite the "hole-in-the-wall" feel, every dish was executed at a high level. I was there with coworkers, and every single one of us walked away impressed. This is the kind of spot you almost want to keep to yourself--but it's too good not to share.

The restaurant was super clean and our waiter was nice and attentive. We ordered the following: Appetizer - Torresmo (Crispy pork belly with smoked guava sauce and lime) - 7/10 - The pork belly was salty, crispy, and had lots of flavor but it was a tad dry. The star was the guava sauce! It was sweet, smokey and paired so well with the pork belly. There was not enough lime and the pieces we had were dry and not juicy. We could barely get juice out of them. Regardless, the appetizer was good. A bit heavy though on the stomach. Entrees: Costela ao Molho Madeira com Risotto de Parmesão (braised beef short rib with madeira sauce over parmesan risotto) - 8/10 - The short rib was super tender and fell off the bone! It was pretty hefty piece too and plenty of meat for the dish. The flavors were good but I didn't really like the taste of Madeira wine (personal preference). The parmesan risotto was really delicious, creamy, and had a strong cheesy taste! Reminded me of elevated mac and cheese and it went so well with the braised short rib. Picanha Rustica (steak served with fried rice with bacon, eggs, onion, and potato stick, chimichurri sauce, and fried yuca - 8.7/10 - my husband had this and he enjoyed it very much. I had a bite of his steak and it was cooked perfectly, medium rare. The fried yuca was hot, crispy, light, and airy. The chimichurri sauce was so fresh and went well with the well seasoned steak. I tried the fried rice and it was delightful as well. We would definitely get this dish again. Overall, it was a pleasant evening and the food was delicious. A bit pricey but the quality was great. I personally won't get the braised short ribs again because it was a bit wine flavored heavy but if you're into wine sauces, you would absolutely love it! Service was good and we were taken care of. Can't wait to try other things on the menu!

And in SoCal we know…read moreevery Brazilian, Latin and Persian market that carries either Brazilian imports or similar items, like 'President brand' requejiao cremoso, which you'll find at the Persian markets. So when one of our family group moved to the Jacksonville area, we immediately searched online for 'Brasilian Mercados'... either in town or in the greater area. And just to let you know, we're envious of our family now in the Jacksonville area. Well, if you're in the Jacksonville area and you've found Rio Bonito Latin Food Market, then you've also probably seen two other mercados very close. But after our family visited all three this last Sunday, we had to agree that Rio Bonito was the closest, if not a near copy, of a typical neighborhood market. Groceries, dry goods, frozen foods, and a very traditional cafe'-buffet where you pay (in Brazil por kilo), but here, by the pound. And with their buffet, If you load up your plate as I did on my second visit, and with the buffet line meats, and/or you add meat from their modest churrasco area, you'll probably be paying around $22 or so. I'm sure their prices went up this year to cover higher costs. Luckily visiting on Sunday, I was able to make a plate of feijoada, complete with rice, couve à mineira, vinagrette and farofa. During the week they have varying hot meat dishes, like ribs, chicken and ox tail (rabo de boi). I felt like we'd stopped at a small 'posto' (truck stop) on our way to Uberlandia from Goiania or Brasilia. And let me add that they also have a small carneceria complete with all the Brasilian meats and cuts you'd want for a home BBQ. My avocation is Specialty Coffee, and we do travel to Brasil reasonably often. So aside from focusing on coffee, (trips to Sul de Minas), I keep an eye on the retail markets, their inventories and prices. And here in the states I have an account with a West coast Latin (Brasilian) food and general merchandise distributor. So when we visited Rio Bonito, I could immediately see that their level of both dry goods and frozen was well above any other Latin market we have in SoCal, let alone in the No. Florida area. Knowing most master Latin food importer are East coast based, this makes total sense. If there's another Brasilian mercado with a more complete inventory of product in North Florida, I'd like to know about it. Bottom line, if you're a Brasilian or Amer-Bras family, and you're looking for 'your Brasilian mercado'... I'm reasonably confident that this is it.
