Super juicy patty with lots of flavor, thick and crispy bacon, and gooey melted cheese. The fries were fresh and crispy with the perfect amount of salt. So yummy! Not a lot of frills at this place. Very basic menu. Very limited drink choices. Restaurant is in a store front but you get the sense that the owner would be just as happy having it in a shack. 10 or 12 hand written brown paper bag signs are scotch taped on the windows and the table barriers in front of the counter. ' keep your distance!' 'maximum two people allowed in the store at a time' , ' wear a mask: bylaw XXXX' and other messages greet you as you approach the restaurant. Perhaps they would seem more friendly if they were done professionally instead of hands crawled in pen on paper bag in all capital letters by the staff, who were no doubt left holding the bag as it were, since the owner was too cheap to spring for pro signage. So how's the food? The burgers are excellent and the fries are second to none. Which begs the question, why is the restaurant itself not as good as the food they serve? Why can't you pay with your phone? Both my wife and I can accept tap payments, and we are just small business owners. So many questions, Deleterious Burger! All of their burgers are great! The bun is toasted and the patty is not too meaty (I hate it when the patty feels like just minced meat patted down) but very juicy and tasty. The people are nice, and it was way better than other burger joints around Mac. Then why is it not a 5 star you ask? The burgers are fairly small imo. I had 3 burgers the other day and I was going for a 4th but then I realized I would be spending way too much money for a burger so I had to hold back. Found this place here on Yelp and decided to give it a go. The place is a bit hidden behind the shopping centre. But once you find it, it will be worth it. The burgers are made fresh. And we came around lunch on a Saturday. Not really busy and burgers are made right on the large flat grill made to order. I opted for a single patty cheese burger with added onions. They made it great. And also bought the fresh cut fries which are well made as well. Overall a great experience here. It's a bit small, so if you are thinking of sitting, it is limited there, but about 3-4 families of 4 could fit just fine. But lots of people were in and out ordering and taking it home. Despite the limited amount of reviews on yelp, I'm glad I tried this place because they make one heck of a burger. The menu is very simple and classy. I decided to go for the single patty burger with bacon and cheese. The size of the patty is the same as a quarter pounder at McDonald's without ever being frozen. All the meat used is fresh, never frozen and the taste speaks for itself. The toppings are just your regular homemade toppings and that's what makes this place so much like making a burger at home but better.If you're really hungry I would recommend going for the double patty, just because a single patty isn't that filling. Moreover, the prices are very reasonable. I was in a huge fan of the fries just because I felt it was way too soggy and oversalted. Their service was just absolutely amazing, and I got to interact with the manager of the store a bit as well. Definitely one of my favourite spots in the Hamilton area. read more

Their beef patties were mouthwatering-ly juicy... and hats off to them for the option of adding other toppings on it - my fave is the sautéed mushrooms. Not your average burger joint, but nothing too fancy either. Their menu isn't too big - just burgers and fries. Their fries are fresh cut, but fresh cut fries aren't my favourite. I took 1 point off because their size is a little small for the price point, and both my friend and I didn't feel all that full after finishing a burger and sharing the fries (maybe we eat more than the average though ). I generally prefer regular burgers though. On weekdays, there are a lot of high school students from nearby Westdale High School and I've witnessed some of them leaving garbage and making the owner angry, so arrive before they do. read more

Walked into this place after seeing its positive reviews on Yelp. Was not disappointed. This is a no-frills local burger joint with friendly service, and more important, exceptionally tasty food. I ordered the double cheeseburger with jalapenos as an extra. The patty was nicely charred on the outside while still having that juicy interior. Bun, cheese, and condiments/toppings were high-grade and the entire burger was well assembled as to not make a mess while eating. It's not a HUGE burger, but big enough to satisfy hunger pangs.I tried some of my friend's fries and they were very fresh and tasty as well. Hidden gem of Westdale - I literally found this place after I smelled the amazing aroma walking down the street and saw someone holding a bag with their logo. Freshly made, pretty fast, amazing quality on their beef patties and vegetables. The cheeseburger was just right for me, though I've been meaning to try the mushroom burger too (it's vegetarian!). Fries are so crunchy and not too salty, and the staff are such amazing people! I've had 3 different cashiers and each one has been so nice to me. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I have often thought, "if I was going to open a restaurant, how could I differentiate myself from all the others." I mean, there is nothing unique anymore. Everything is a copy from something else. If I was going to open a fast casual Mexican restaurant, I would go to Chipotle see how they do it. If I was going to open a burger joint, I would go visit The Counter, or Father's Office in Santa Monica, the originator of the Umami burger or The Burger Bar in Las Vegas. A burger is a burger right? How do you make something different that has been done millions of times before. The folks at Delirious Burger didn't ask themselves this question, nor do they care about the answer. 20 years ago, Hamburger Heaven in New York found a way to be different than the greek dineron the corner by serving a pseudo tomatoey salsa on their burger. The decor is updated, modern, in a pseudo reclaimed wood kind of way. The menu board being a chalkboard is common but a nice touch. The color scheme works, albeit a little common. So why would anyone come here for a hamburger and fries? In the simplest answer I can think of, because there isn't anywhere else in the area to get a burger and fries. There is nothing unique about this place. There is nothing special about this place. In fact, I am not delirious about this place. The burger is a basic diner burger. The portabella burger is fried? Why? Why wouldn't you take a portabella mushroom and grill it until it has a nice char and begins to caramelize so that its unique flavor is drawn out. I don't get it. Why not offer salmon burgers, or create a unique sauce that is distinctive and addictive like the McDonald's special sauce or the In-N-Out sauce. How do you open a restaurant and serve nothing different than the beer bellied neighbor cooks up on his grill, over Labor Day weekend? If I was going to serve fries, I would fry them in duck fat, maybe shave a truffle over them, or create a dipping sauce reminiscent of Belgium pommes frites or Arctic Circle's fry sauce that is synonymous with Utah. Yet again, the fries are just ordinary. Even Five Guys serves cajun fries and offers free peanuts, which are better than the food you pay for. I guess the answer to all of my questions comes from the newspaper, The Silhouette. The McMaster University student paper reviewed this restaurant and said about the fries "generous portion and cute to-go packaging." The portion was not generous, a Wendy's value fry is about the same size. The cute to go packaging was a foil pouch and a white paper lunch bag. If that is what impresses a community, than serving bland, plain, ordinary burgers and standard fries are spot on. You will enjoy much success in this part of Hamilton. Final comment. The cash only policy is dated and silly. In a time when I can give the homeless man on the corner a handout via my iPhone and Bump, the idea of any business operating as "Cash Only" is the only unique thing about this place. Even the homeless guy had a Square reader on his iPhone. Maybe invest in Square, PayPal, Bump, Venmo or something like a bank account? read more

Delirious Burger is my favourite local place to stop by for a burger. The burgers aren't anything fancy, but I think the simplicity is what makes them great. The burger includes all the classic toppings (e.g. tomato, lettuce, onion) in a price tag that amounts to around $5.00. Extra, fancier toppings can be added on for an extra fee (e.g. caramelized onions, bacon, fried jalapeños). Maybe it's because I'm on a student budget currently - but I never tend to get the extra add-ons due to the price it accumulates. Nonetheless, the burger is delicious with all the classic toppings that come included with it. Everything tastes very fresh and it is not too greasy. It's the sort of burger place where you won't feel bloated after eating here. I also recommend the fries, which they will offer you ketchup and vinegar packets with each time, and these are wonderful as well. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the decor is quintessentially Hamiltonian. I love stopping by Delirious Burger, and I recommend it to anyone in the area. read more

I called at 4:00 to arrange a 5:00 pick up. Upon arrival 3/5 burgers were made. Somehow half my order was missed. There was one customer ahead of me. Not busy and there was really no explanation. As pressed for time as I was, I decided to wait for the rest of the order to be made. Bad decision, when the rest of the food finally came, the first part of the order ready was ice cold. To make matters worse my sons burger was completely wrong and he couldn't eat it as it has mushrooms on it. The apology seemed mediocre from the owner and as much as I want to love this place. My friends & I just had our first experience at Delirious Burger Co! It was amazing, and we all agreed it was the best burger in the area that we've had, and very fairly priced especially for students like ourselves. The burgers are delicious and they are very accommodating if you want to customize your order. Everything is made extremely fresh and has a high quality taste. The burger patties are not the biggest around but they are not small by any means; they have a great beef taste - they don't appear to have fillers and are not overly greasy. If you are looking for a great American style burger this is a great place to eat. If you want something crazy and unique try ordering off menu - grilled cheese buns make a nice change to the basic buns. Or, get a burger with a portobello on it (amazing, btw).
