"We should try a new place," I announced to Old Gramps as we were driving through Nebraska on the…read moreway to see a couple of good-lookin' grandkids. He gave me the side-eye, as if he'd forgotten my title of (Self-Proclaimed) Queen of Yelp. But little did he know...my powers were in full force! I had the Smoke 2 Joints on gluten-free bread. He had the Good Vibrations on a gluten-y bun. Boy, oh, boy, were they tasty! We demolished both sandwiches off before our EV even finished charging (and our EV likes to slurp electrons quickly). I'm struggling to figure out why there were some negative reviews, and I'm mystified. Who knows? But in my official capacity as the One and Only Yelp Savant, I'm here to tell you to disregard those people and get yer butt to the Goat! Sincerely, Your Queen PS: They have a nice patio area upstairs, and they don't do tap to pay. (Nice Goat owner, get a Square device and you'll be all set for tap to pay!)

What a gem bar and sandwich joint in Kearney! Sat at the bar where you also come up to order. We got a salad and I would not advise that option. Although fresh, it didn't have much going on, but was respectful as a side salad to the filling sando. Gives hippie, rock band garage vibes with an arcade on the second floor and a sick patio in the downtown area.

We found this gem on Yelp while on a recent trip across country. We sat at the bar and were greeted…read moreimmediately and served our drinks within minutes. My husband had a beer which could have been a bit colder but was refreshing nonetheless. I had a Jameson neat and mine was perfect :) We asked our server what she would recommend and she suggested the turkey panini so we shared that and a bowl of the Irish stew. Both were delicious although the stew was lukewarm and the panini appeared to have sat for a bit. We didn't wait long for our food so we were a bit surprised at the temperature of both items, but again, not a big deal...it was still very tasty! Just a few customers on a Thursday afternoon so it was a quiet meal. We did strike up a conversation with a gentleman who happened to be a huge Buffalo Bills fan and was quite enthusiastic and entertaining to visit with! Overall, a nice, quiet place to grab a meal and a beverage after hours of driving. They had several tv's and looks like it could be a lot of fun with a crowd. Would definitely recommend!

Always looking for local, we found McKinney's Pub on 3rd West in downtown Grand Island…read more Looking like most of the smaller Irish pubs I've been in, in the Midwest, theirs an immediate comfort as soon as you walk into the door. Green walls, dark wood and brass foot rails. I, of course, started off with a Guinness, which was perfectly poured and my wife a Diet Coke. The staff is relaxed and friendly, giving us plenty of time to look over a fairly extensive menu. My wife decided on the Buffalo Chicken wrap, and I went all in on the Peanut butter burger. My wife really liked her wrap, lots of contrasting goodies to complement the chicken with had some bite but wasn't too spicy. If you're going to tray a peanut butter burger, you need to like peanut butter- it gives the burger a different taste. Served with a mandarin chutney on a tasty bun, I found myself liking it more and more as I enjoyed it. We were offered desserts, but declined as we were absolutely stuffed. Oh, how could I forget to mention the curled chip!!!!nothing short of awesome! Think of a curly cue fry combined with a steak fry. Really, really great!

This pizza place was legit to me. I met with a bunch of coworkers here for dinner and we sat…read moreoutside in the back. There were 10 of us (6 came before the group I was in) and there was plenty of seats. There were only a couple inside but the weather was nice which was why a lot more were outside. Parking was limited so street parking so I guess it could be a hit or miss. The group of 4 I sat with decided we wanted two Long Board-sized pizzas which were the large size. On one pizza, we ordered half of the Bonzai Pipeline (Boogie Board size was $7.19 and Long Board size was $17.99) and half of the Lover's Point (Boogie Board size was $8.19 and Long Board size was $21.99). The other pizza was the Manly Beach (Boogie Board size was $8.19 and Long Board size was $21.99). We also ordered a couple pitchers of beer. The pizza took a very long time to come out and it really could be that the pizza just took that long to cook. We talked among ourselves for awhile before our pizza finally came out. The Long Board-sized pizzas were pretty large and there were about 8 big slices. The Bonzai Pipeline was delicious as well as the Lover's Point. I would recommend either one of those if you liked Hawaiian pizzas or a lot of meat on your pizza. The Manly Beach was good but would be better without the jalapenos. That was just what I thought but I'm sure others liked the jalapenos. I almost ate five slices total from both pizzas before I stopped trying. It was a lot of pizza to eat but good pizza in my opinion. Good place to hang out, grab a drink, and eat pizza. Come check it out!
