    Chinese Chicken Salad (minus chicken)
    Makenzie L.

This was the most charming little ma and pa shop. You can tell it was made with love as it made me fall in love with it. Got the hit Chinese Chicken Salad (minus chicken per vegetarian) and it still wowed me. Their menu was all sandwich creations that seem like they'd put subway or firehouse to shame, you just can't beat that home cookin. If in the area you MUST stop in, they'll take good care of ya.

What a fantastic restaurant! I love the antique decor, but the food is the real highlight. The sandwiches and salads are delicious, with soft bread and generous portions. And don't miss their cookies--so sweet and decadent! Give this place a try; you won't be disappointed!

i always love stopping here when i'm back in grand island. they are definitely known for their chinese chicken salad, which is my personal favorite, but they have a great selection of sandwiches and soups too! if you're craving something sweet, they also sell cookies from the cookie company which are a must. the banana nut cookie is to die for! a perfect neighborhood spot for lunch!

Excellent local place to stop for lunch. I had a cookie as an appetizer which was great. Their soups and sandwiches are also good. I would highly recommend Sutter Deli as a good lunch stop.

Beth and myself here now waiting. I've asked for the Pastrami sandwich and Beth the Mixed Vegie sandwich. Busy lunch time now and apparently local people I am guessing. Am guessing the hot spot for lunch for all age groups! And getting 5 stars alone for special making us an Oatmeal and Raisin cookie as we are waiting. How cool is that?!! The Pastrami sandwich is pretty good but scimpy on pastrami. The Vegie sandwich is definitely an excellent and unique choice. Way better than expected. The cookie is real good but not more. Some ice cream on top would enhance that. Cookie does not appear handmade. I would guess is from a prepared frozen mix. Is still real good though. Anyone should try this and the Vege sandwich for sure.

I ordered the pastrami sandwich it was good I thought it had enough meat, contrary to Kent's review, but I was not impressed with the chili. Almost $5 for a cup? Too high for the amount you get. The staff was friendly! Nice locality, not very much parking. They have lunch specials every day. Not sure I will be back but worth a try.

Even though it sits right off I-80 in Grand Island, NE, the race-car theme inside gives it a fun, lively vibe, and the place itself was spotless, well-maintained, and very organized. We were promptly greeted by Ms. Heather, the hostess, who was polite, cheerful, and welcomed us with a sweet smile before leading us to a booth in Ms. Hailey's section. Ms. Hailey was bubbly, friendly, and incredibly efficient--no movement wasted. She took our drink and food orders and even repeated everything back to make sure it was perfect. My sister ordered the All-American Cheeseburger with bacon on a buttered, grilled brioche bun with lettuce, red onion, tomato, and dill pickles, plus a side of seasoned fries ($14.50). The fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and very tasty. I went with the Farmhouse Burger topped with melted American cheese and a fried egg ($18.00). The flavors were spot on and the egg was cooked perfectly, though the beef patty was just a bit dry. We also shared the Wings Snack ($8.50) and an order of Onion Rings ($5.50). The wings were cooked perfectly and full of flavor, though they were a little heavy on the BBQ sauce. The onion rings, however, were outstanding--super crispy, well-seasoned, and honestly the best onion rings I've ever had. Overall, this restaurant was a great experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very professional. If I ever find myself back in Nebraska, I will definitely be stopping here again.

When first walking into the place, which by the way is attached to the hotel, there was an off smell. We should have turned around and left at that point, but decided to stay and give them a try. It took quite a while for our server to come over, even though they weren't busy. He spoke broken English, so it was a bit difficult to communicate. We placed our orders and they brought rolls out with oil, the rolls were good, although not warm as the menu stated. We then received our salads that had an Italian dressing on it, but it was red and did not taste like Italian whatsoever. None of us finished our salads. My eggplant was not crispy as eggplant usually is, and the sauce was not very tasty. I always take leftovers home with me, but this time I didn't even bother. The gal at the front desk greeting people just sat on her phone, the whole time playing with her hair. After our visit, we spoke to family that's local about our experience, and they all said they've heard the same from other people. Needless to say we won't be going back. Sad this place went downhill after the move.

Nearly an hour later, our food finally arrived, and sadly, it didn't quite live up to the suspense. Mediocre at best. It's truly unfortunate because the restaurant itself has a great vibe, but the overall experience left us disappointed. Sadly, we won't be back though we did leave with plenty of time to admire the décor.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and lively, but what really made our visit stand out was our server, Victoria. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. I ordered the herb-crusted chicken with rice, a side salad topped with sautéed onions and mushrooms, along with a house frozen margarita and the $5 Long Island Iced Teas -- everything was flavorful and cooked just right. My wife ordered the catfish with a loaded baked potato and a side salad. While she wasn't completely satisfied with the catfish, Victoria handled it immediately and professionally, making sure my wife was able to get something she enjoyed instead without any hassle. On top of that, the free dinner rolls were absolutely amazing, and combined with the generous portion sizes, we were so full that we had to take most of our meals to go! Overall, this was an incredible first experience at Texas Roadhouse. The food, service, and hospitality were all top-notch. We will definitely be dining here again anytime we're in Grand Island.
