All I can say, is WoW! I didn't have any expectations but this was a great lunch stop. Growing up in CT, we know our sibs (grinders as we call them) but I was pleasantly surprised by Deli Zone. Friendly employees and New York City themed stuff everywhere! I got the 42nd Street, and a side of potato salad (which was great!) I love Deli Zone! They closed the Deli Zone near me years ago. I was super happy to see this one. I had the Rasta Baby Kong. The sandwich was great, and the Rasta sauce definitely added just the right amount of flavor. My son had the breakfast burrito. He is notoriously picky and hates trying new places, but he loved it. Service is good, place is clean and food is yum. I got the turkey and provolone chips and a drink and the total was $13 so not bad.

Since there is only 1 person working here, I recommend just ordering at the deli versus ahead online. I ordered ahead and when we got there the staff member had not even seen it because she was busy. I give her major respect for running the shop all on her own because she was juggling making the food, ringing people up, etc. That's a lot to do on your own. The food itself was decent but not amazing. I got a cold veggie sandwich with avocado, but there was a pretty minimal amount of avocado. It felt pretty much like something you could get at Subway. My boyfriend got a breakfast sandwich and he said it was basic, but not amazing. There's a sign there warning people that the eggs can be undercooked, which is kind of a scary idea. Maybe they have to put that out, but gotta admit it kind of scared me to know that they are admitting to potentially not cooking their food throughly. read more

Ordered today and got a soprano on gluten free bread. I think they forgot about me cause it took 25 minutes to get my sandwich on my 30 minute lunch and by the time I did, it was cooled off, cheese not melted and the bread crumbled. Forgot the lettuce too which is a bummer. We haven't been back to Boulder for about ten years and it was one of the first places I wanted to go to when we got there. I was glad they hadn't closed! We used to go almost every week when we lived locally. It was still as good as I remembered! Best breakfast sammies in town! Closest to my house and its always very fast and yummy!

I'll admit up front I have no idea how the sandwiches are. I've only had an egg salad sandwich from there, which hardly varies from one deli to the other. However, after watching the glove-clad employee take my cash, give me my change, and turn around and make my sandwich without changing his gloves, I don't think I'll go back. Sure, he was young and probably utterly unconcerned with the health of a random stranger, but I would at least expect the manager sitting nearby to make sure there aren't any glaring health food violations. As I walked out, he started changing the receipt roll in the register--with the same gloves. I pity the next person to come through the door. read more

I was called up to receive my sandwich, after I took it and started eating it I was screamed at from across the restaurant by one of the workers calling me a "fucking douchebag" and such because I apparently took the wrong sandwich. I talked to the other customer and offered to pay the difference, he did not mind and understood my mistake. The woman continued to yell at me as I left the store. The Deli Zone on Baseline is a regular stop for me for both breakfast and lunch. The sandwiches are all top notch and the menu is large enough to satisfy everyone. My favorites are the Giuliani, the cold Italian Hero, the Kong (bfast) and any of the two egg with meat breakfast sandwiches. I was amazed to discover that for about the price of a Subway or Quiznos sub, I could get a truly awesome sub from Deli Zone - only bigger, meatier, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I was surprised to learn Deli Zone was a chain - it has the feel, and the food, of a family business that cares about making a great sandwich. I usually order the Godfather - Roast beef and bacon - delicious bacon. The South Bronx (turkey, avocado), is pretty damn good also. Deli Zone on Baseline and Foothills deserves a shout out. I am strongly biased towards New Jersey/New York sandwiches and have a hard time giving props to sandwiches out here. That is not to say that Deli Sandwiches can be compared to East Coast sandwiches. They are, in there on right, tasty sandwiches though. The staff is very friendly as well. read more
