'MERICA BABY The not so good: - The 12" steak and a bottle of propel cost $19. Still tasted fine. - While there was plenty meat, it was packed to the middle and the ends had a lot less. I know that's a bit nit pickey, but it is a pet peeve of mine. The chicken in The Balboa were delicious, traditional Italian style breaded cutlets. When my order was ready, the owner (or manager) handed me my bag, apologized for the wait, and insisted I take a free dessert from their fridge. I hadn't complained and honestly didn't mind waiting, but that gesture spoke volumes. Some might see waiting as an inconvenience worth some sort of refund/reward, but given all of the circumstances I noted earlier, I see that as a sign of a small business thriving. So, to me, this gesture showed me how much they truly value their customers and how committed they are to creating a positive experience worth returning to. The fact that they went above and beyond only confirmed why Ciao has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. And can't forget... the cheesecake was also great! So whether you're ordering eat in and sitting outside enjoying Downtown, doing take out for pick up, or ordering to-go from online, I highly recommend Ciao for a tasty sandwich, great side options, and wonderful service.

Hmmmm...okay! We got both. The breakfast sandwich (BEC) was on a Portuguese style roll. A ton of egg on this, and I'd say an adequate amount of bacon. The ratio of this just didn't feel right though, I would have liked either less egg, or another slice or two of bacon and another slice of cheese in the middle of all that egg. Not bad, not great. The cheesesteak was pretty good. I enjoyed the meat and the seasonings. The meat to cheese ratio (no cooper, they use American) was good. The onions were larger than I like but they were sautéed enough that it didn't mess with the bite of the sandwich. The roll though...was not a winner for me. I saw the sandwich maker ask the lady if she could use some old not great looking bread. The lady who didn't wash her hands after she was eating and took my order picked up the bread with her non gloves hands and asked me if it was okay to use. I replied no it's looks stale and you touched it without gloves on. She threw the bread in the trash and said "okay, we have no bread then". The nice sandwich worker then showed me a nice multi grain ciabatta or French roll and I told her that would be fine.
