Our waiter Ben was so friendly and knowledgeable on the dishes, plus he gave some great recommendations. To start we had smoothies, I loved that they were naturally sweetened (no refined sugar) The food was amazing - I'm not vegan but love all food and what most impressed me about Wild Food Cafe was how fresh and flavoursome all the dishes were, every dish we had was just delicious and really interesting. The artichoke starter had some great textures and flavours, the polenta cakes with tomato and asparagus was such a simple dish but tasted amazing - the Courgette Parpadelle had such a great depth of flavour - and the desserts - YUM! The Pistachio Caramel was delicious, but the winner was definitely the Rhubarb Cheesecake. I got food envy when I saw the table next to us order the vegan pizza so I think I'll definitely be back here soon!

Actually walked past it the first time without noticing the sign but so glad I did on the way back to Chingford train station. It's neatly tucked into the back of the Village Arcade (?) and really cozy after a chilly morning. The shop is small with a couple of seats inside and plenty of seating outside in the covered arcade. The owner was so lovely and one can tell that he loves his job (and the food he's serving). Got the Mediterranean veg sandwich with hummus, which was filing, along with a nice cup of chai tea :) If you're looking for a nice veg/vegan place to try and have just finished a walk around here, do come check this place out. Definitely would come back here to try the other things on the menu (especially that burger!)

Dive-y, vegan, and cranking rock tunes. How could you not love this place immediately?…read more Being a meat eater there's a little trepidation whenever I walk into a Vegan (with a capital V) establishment. I always wonder, does a "healthier" choice mean I'll have to eat something which'll leave me unsatisfied? That niggling concern flew right out the window with The Full Nelson. First of all, you have a fantastic cocktail menu with a little bit for everyone no matter what your palate is in the mood for. While you're enjoying a refreshing adult beverage, you can then order some of their delightful food items. The wings and the fries are surprisingly good especially when you take into account that the wings are vegan. Actually, every item I've seen come out of the kitchen looked mouthwatering. The only drawback I dare mention is that when this place is hopping it can get a little crowded. It's best to come early and beat the rush because they have the popularity of a joint three times its size. Perhaps they'll get successful enough to expand. I personally would love that.
