They made an…read moreerror on the lease for a tenant expected to rent one of my properties and he put on the lease that I (the landlord) would be responsible for utilities when I clearly sent emails stating the tenant would be responsible. I called him and he started out by yelling at me and told me if I didn't like it then terminate my agreement. In addition, he didn't require the applicant to include everyone living in the house to be on the lease. I changed property management companies and he refused to give the tenant their deposit back. He was also emailing me from one of the email address and it kept coming back invalid when I responded. I was hesitant about working with this company initially but decided to move forward and that was a big mistake.

When I said my legal rights under the Landlord Tenant Code allow me 15 days to think about it, they retaliated against me by rescinding their offer to renew my lease at all. While I was a tenant, I had to do all of my own repairs as they would not send out people to repair anything in a timely fashion. Once, the light fixture fell out of my ceiling, I reported it, and it took them over a month to put it back in. The fixture was just hanging by wires that whole time - a total fire hazard!
