Terrible moving experience with a local move--hired this company to assist with packing the residuals of a house that had already been largely moved and a piano. I have a large array of valuable antiques and other items and had particular concerns hiring a mover generally. While I was reassured of the professionalism of the company, that turned out to not be the case. First, a number of the movers showed up smelling of marijuana on the job--that is not what I would expect from professional, courteous movers. Second, after the move, a number of items already in the new house were missing in a location where only the movers were working. When confronted about these concerns, the company conducted a cursory investigation and did not respond to my follow-up expressing disappointment with the experience, offer any refund, or attempt to do anything to make the situation right. The items remain missing. I would strongly urge anyone to find other movers in Delaware as my experience made clear that this company is not to be trusted with my valuables during a move. read more

We did a short-distance move from DE to NJ for a 2 bedroom apartment and had a great experience! The liaison Dave was helpful in negotiating prices and moving dates - we changed our date twice and it was never a problem. The moving crew was relatively professional, yet they did an excellent job packing our furniture and delicate items. Nothing was broken upon arrival! I paid $1900 for them to move my items from my house to storage all of my glass vanities are broken. My boxes were thrown in any kind away God knows what else is destroyed. When I spoke to Sandy She was useless and told me she had to mail me a claims form. Then I got a call from the general manager Dave which was even worse he told me because I had my move five months ago that I had seven days from the day that they did the move moving my items into a storage unit to file a claim now why on gods wildest imagination would I have paid them $1900 to move my items out in seven days to check if my items were put in there properly this is supposed to be a professional moving company that I am trusted with my belongings. I am definitely seeking damages and falling legal action against this company!!!! I wish I could upload the videos these pictures don't even do it just it! We are infuriated! Chris and I contracted with Delaware Moving & Storage to handle our recent move. We packed some things ourselves, because we took exceptional care to ensure nothing got broken. Well, after calculating the damage that these movers caused (too numerous to list) it came out to be around $5,000 roughly. This includes a missing pop up canopy, rods for our outdoor privacy curtain, and damages to our hot-tub. We received our settlement today, after a $500 deductible, we got a whopping $117.95 Dollars!! We used this company for a local move that involved a month of storage at their warehouse. That being said, I opted to purchase their "Full Replacement Value Protection" which states if an article is lost, destroyed, or damaged while in the mover's custody, the mover will pay the cost of a replacement. After a month in their care, they delivered my household goods with more than $1,500 in destroyed items. I filed a claim and they sent me a check for $310, and breached their contract with me by not paying for the replacement of all items on my claim. HORRIBLE! Don't use them! Terrible from the beginning. I should have known it was going to go bad. Pre Move: This was a local move that I set up months in advance. Ed Kulesza came out to the house and wrote an estimate. He told me it be very close to the price quoted and "not a big deal". Well, it was a big deal... The estimate was way off - I am convinced he grossly under estimated the price to get the job (50% of what the final cost was). As I got closer to my move - he wouldn't return my multiple calls to set up the move and I had already put a deposit down. He spend zero time reviewing the estimate and what options were available if things got damaged (foreshadowing). Move Out: He sends out a tiny truck (4 br, 3.5 bath house - 24 foot truck?) and charged more when (obviously) a second truck was needed. I had to tell the movers how to get things out of the house without damaging them (isn't that what I hired them for?) I was being charged by the hour/man. I brought EVERY box down to the room next to the front door to speed things up. It took them FOREVER to load the truck and they still left things behind. Move In: Same thing - slow as molasses. This was new construction where we had not closed on it yet so, they were told to just put things in the center of each room because the inspector would need access to each wall, etc. It still took them FOREVER to get the truck unloaded. They damaged a bunch of stuff - tables, chairs, outdoor furniture, a bicycle and most importantly all 3 doors of my recently purchased French door refrigerator. CLAIMS: I called and inquired about filing a claim. I was told by Sandy Jones in claims to get estimates and search for pricing on all items including the doors to the fridge. I spent hours looking for parts to the fridge, printing them out, calling repairs shops to try to find someone to do an estimate, etc. After doing all that work and submitting the claim - yep, you guessed it. $100 for the fridge. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I called Sandy back and asked if Delaware Moving & Storage was going to make this right and I got an "I'll look into it"... This consisted of sending a letter stating the claim was closed by them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! If you are looking for a moving company - go elsewhere. It can't get worse than this! I stand by my review. I supervised the packing and loading of our HG on Oklahoma. The moving company (in OK) was caring and very careful with our belongings. I saw them wrapped all of our furniture with plastic and then blankets. They uploaded the moving truck with care and carefulness. Unlike your company and staff. Our furniture was loaded in your company truck without any protection. Heavier boxes where on top of lighter boxes. I saw the movers climbed on top of our furniture as well. This is not our first military move, however this is the first time our furniture has suffered so much damage. read more

If I could rate my experience with Delaware Moving and Storage zero stars, I would. I've moved several times with the military over the years and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. Packers were sloppy, so unpacking has been a real surprise and nightmare. The crew that loaded the truck were at my house from 9:00 am to 2:30 am the next day! This was due to poor planning around the number of people it would take to load the truck. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. We used DE Moving & Storage to store house contents. We used a COW and 2 storage bins. When our storage containers were delivered, we had mice in our boxes along with mice nests, droppings and urine. It was disgusting. We had to toss a lot of clothing, linens and blankets. We also had to catch a mouse running across our floor and dispose of 8 babies that were born in a beautifully painted bench. Lastly, we had to wash tons of clothes and clean up furniture that had mice mess on it which is the last thing you want to do when you are unpacking and tired. I called and spoke to Sandy. She promised me a callback in 2 days. Instead, i received a form letter in the mail that stated since I waived the insurance, DE Moving and Storage was not liable. My local move with DE Moving and Storage resulted in serious damage to a $650 almost-new TV. All attempts to get some compensation from the claims person (Sandy) were unsuccessful. Delaware Moving & Storage Inc., who is an agent of Wheaton World Wide Moving, hire employees that consist of the most UNSAFE, unprofessional, disrespectful, unprincipled, combative, rude, careless, chauvinistic, and did I say unprofessional, people on the face of the earth. (1) they arrived 30-45 minutes late (2)When I returned, I noticed two out of the three packers were no longer wearing a covering over their faces (Wayne and the other guy who was not Jeremy). I also noticed that Wayne and Jeremy were sniffling and Wayne sounded congested. I did not ask them to put the masks back on because I put myself in their shoes, . . . (3) Jeremy approached me and asked me where were my items going to be delivered, and I said Harrisburg, and then he said, how far is that away from here, and I said about two hours. Looking back on this line of questioning now, I do not believe Jeremy's employer's notified him of the details of the job. I say this because immediately after that conversation, Jeremy's demeanor changed entirely; a full 360. I told Jeremy before he went out the front door not to leave without me because I wanted to follow them or I wanted them to follow me. . (4) Several minutes later, I got a call from David, and he said, Jeremy, is refusing to deliver your items. We are trying to find another driver who can take the truck to Harrisburg. I said, "Why? I don't understand. What was the reason he gave you? David said Jeremy told him that he asked me to sign some documents. I then said, and I signed them. David then said, Jeremy said you had an issue with a security guard that works there, so I guess someone who works there told him that. I was like, what? So what does that have to do with him delivering my stuff? I then told David that nothing Jeremy said amounts to a valid reason why Jeremy is refusing to deliver my stuff. David said he would contact Jeremy's manager and call me back and he would also try to find someone else to deliver my items. I started to feel very uneasy by all of this, so I rushed out of the apartment, returned my keys to the office staff, and went outside to see if the truck with my entire life was still outside. I did not see it. (5) David called me back and said that Jeremy's supervisor said that Jeremy is going to deliver my stuff. I expressed to David that I do not believe there was ever a reason that he should have declined to deliver my stuff because nothing happened between us. David did not like my response and said, "You should be happy that he is going to deliver your stuff. You don't need to say anything else. Just say thank you and be happy about it." I was like, Woah! So I told Dave, I should be happy that you all have agreed to pack my items and deliver them and that you are actually going to deliver them after saying a few moments ago that you were not going to deliver them AFTER driving off with all of my items in your truck? David's response was, you did not pay us though. We have not received anything from you. And I said, and you have not delivered anything, which was our agreement! I immediately said David, like I told Jeremy earlier, this conversation is going in a negative direction and I do not wish to argue with anyone. David responded, "Your problem is you talk too much." I said, David, if you did not want to hear me talk at all, you could have sent me a text message stating Jeremy changed his mind and agreed to deliver my items . . . 6)Thirty minutes later,I receive another text from David that said, I got another text saying Jeremy is not delivering your items; we do not know if he will or won't and we are trying to find someone else; his supervisor is contacting him now; ill let you know as soon as possible. I replied, "Okay. This is extremely unprofessional, and David said, "AGREED YES VERY MUCH." I then sent a message to David pleading with Jeremy to deliver my items. I literally begged him and I even told him to tell Jeremy that I would send him 100.00 directly if he would just deliver my items. NO CUSTOMER OF ANY COMPANY SHOULD EVER HAVE TO PLEAD WITH THE COMPANY TO PERFORM THEIR END OF THE CONTRACT! I immediately pulled over at some unknown location. I asked David for the address of where the truck was located with my items because I started to feel as though I had been scammed. . . I was about to call the police to report my items stolen when David texted, "As I was reading your text, I saw a text from my operations telling me that They are delivering and are on the way." When I arrived at my new address, the moving truck was not there. . . Jeremy and Wayne eventually showed up with my items, and I felt relieved. I decided to stay in my vehicle while they unladed my items to ensure that Jeremy would not feel un feel uncomfortable, or whatever it was that he felt earlier in the day, again, and drive off with the rest of my stuff. Based on my experience, the best way I can describe Delaware Moving & Storage Inc. is fraudulent, disorganized, and unprofessional. 30% of my items were missing by the time they arrived at the final destination. We had Delaware Moving and Storage move our furnishings into storage for a couple of months while our new house in Nashville was finished. The estimator was great; the loading was generally okay (only one dropped dresser). Went down hill from there. Delaware M&S handled the move to Nashville themselves (no turnover to Wheaton for interstate shipment). When furnishings were delivered, we had several lamps broken; the delivery lead wrote that at least one breakage was done while unloading. New white carpet was stained when movers dragged mattress in plastic wrap across it. After the movers left, we found numerous items missing (stepladder, lamps). Filed claim with Wheaton. Normal excuse/blame that we didn't check each box as it came off the truck. Impossible to do as they unloaded boxes in batches as fast as possible. Kept Delaware M&S on all correspondence; once they had their money, literally never heard from them again. The settlement from Wheaton was mainly for the damaged carpet; refused to even address the missing items. The worst moving experience we've had. (6 previous interstate moves) read more

They pulled wool over my eyes. Very dishonest. They left my house after damaging a bureau and not installing 2 beds. These guys spent the whole day moving my things. It was a long day. They had me walk through and hid their damage. My Bureaus are destroyed. I need to get a new set. Why replace just the big piece. My bed is missing hardware and needs to be replaced. My child's bed was left so shaky they did come back to at least fix that. read more

They should really get one-and-a-half stars; I'm rounding up because most of the movers seemed like decent, hard-working guys who were good at carrying stuff. We recently used Delaware Moving and Storage for the first time. Here's a sampling of what went wrong: ESTIMATOR *Gave me a sheet of paper with numbers scribbled on it, while a competitor provided a detailed computer-printed listing of all components of the job. That should have been a red flag. *Did not communicate with me in the time leading up to the move. (He didn't even return multiple phone calls I made about getting boxes in advance, though they did finally show up.) PACKERS *Missed the contents of an entire cabinet. MOVERS *Loading the trucks took most of a day, and the movers repeatedly said the job had been under-estimated, so they didn't have enough trucks or manpower. To speed up the process, I eventually told them not to load anything we could fit into our car. (That meant I had to drive many carloads of stuff to the new house over the next few days.) *Some of them used the f-word loudly and repeatedly during conversations outside of both locations - not the first impression I would have liked our new neighbors to get as we moved in. *Didn't reassemble some of the furniture they had taken apart. (In some cases, that was probably because we weren't sure where the piece of furniture would go, but in other cases, they just dropped the ball.) *Didn't give us back the hardware from those unassembled pieces of furniture; we had to go to a hardware store and try to buy suitable replacements. *Didn't put bikes back together right (a wheel was put in wrong, brakes weren't reattached, etc.). I don't expect movers to be expert bike mechanics, but if they take something apart, they should know how to basically put it back together. *One of them asked which bike we used the most, but that bike then got stuck in our garage behind mountains of furniture and boxes, where we couldn't reach it for days. OFFICE *I made a followup call about some of these issues. The guy I spoke with did look into the missing hardware and eventually got back to me, but by that time we had already been forced to buy replacements (that they will reimburse us for). As you can imagine, I wouldn't use these guys again, and I'm already kind of regretting giving them that second star. read more

DO NOT USE! Wish I didn't have to give them one star. They do not meet their commitments, and they cheat you out of what they promised. They're characterized by poor management, which is reflected in too many of their people. They have little respect for your stuff or you. Don't be fooled. The salespeople come off as credible and honest, but the company as a whole is neither. It's no fun watching your things being moved by being thrown and slid down a staircase. And you don't want movers who think it's more important to sweep out their truck when the sun is shining and wait till it's pouring rain to actually move your stuff into the house. We moved out of state in July. The movers arrived three hours late, but still finished on time. When they were unloading we had a lot of damaged items due to not packing correctly. I figured it would be ok we purchased the extra insurance. The insurance did pay for everything except to have my grandmothers furniture repaired. The furniture is 80 years old and cannot be replaced all I wanted was it to be fixed. They gave me $200 knowing full well it would cost $1000.00 to fix. I reviewed Delaware Moving and Storage in late 2016. My review does not appear here for some reason. So I will add my review again. We moved within the same building from the 9th floor to the 7th floor. The 3 movers disappeared about every 1/2 hour. They walked off the job before they finished. We had to move ALL our clothing, several lamps, and a number of other things because they left. It took 2 weeks and repeated phone calls to get a response regarding all the damage which the Delaware Moving and Storage movers did to our furniture. When I met with the owner, he did not believe anything I told him. Thankfully, the building manager was able to vouch for the truth as I told it. They reluctantly paid for repairs to some of our damaged furniture. One of their employees repaired pieces which were less damaged. From start to finish Delaware Moving and Storage was great! They were extremely friendly and made my move a pleasant experience. The salesman explained the process in-depth to me and our movers did a good job. They were on time and polite to me and my family. However, my table did get a small scratch in it from the move. I was worried that they would not take my claim seriously, but that was not the case! Their claims department sent out Tim and he fixed it right away. You would never know that it was scratched. I hired this company to move my 1-bedroom apartment to a 2-bedroom apartment within the same apartment complex. Both apartments were on the 3rd floor. The manager Ed estimated 3-4 hours for the move at a rate of $175/hr. The move ended up taking 5 hours and costing me more than $1000. I have moved a number of times, from and to 3rd floor apartments, and this company was definitely on the slower, less careful side. I would not recommend them in general and especially to single women moving by themselves because I was disrespected a number of times mostly by the manager Ed. My issues with my move echo many of those expressed here. One mover (whose name I don't remember) moved all of the boxes and also a good amount of the furniture. The other two movers, Theo (the boss) and Hector, were less active during the move. Theo and Hector were arguing with each other and spent too much time just standing in the truck. In previous moves, one or more employees were dismantling furniture at the same time as other employees were carrying boxes. That didn't happen here. During the move, I commented to Theo that it seemed to be going slowly, and he indicated that there was some confusion among the crew. After this, Hector and Theo started helping more, but the move didn't seem to speed up much, and they stopped helping after a couple of trips. Because of COVID, before I booked the move, I asked the manager Ed what kind of precautions the movers would be taking. I am a healthcare worker currently working in the hospitals with COVID patients. Ed said that the movers would have masks and gloves. However, on the day, the movers didn't have gloves, and they had bandanas instead of masks (which was fine with me). My issue was that the movers did not keep the masks on while inside my old or new apartments despite me asking them to do so multiple times, including when they entered my old apartment for the first time. Later, while speaking with the manager Ed about this, he said that my concerns were "ridiculous" and "immature" and then he started to tell me about the "real world" and how it was hard to wear a mask while carrying furniture. I acknowledged this and said that I didn't mind if they took the masks off outdoors. I just wanted them to wear them indoors, where we were in close quarters with less ability to social distance. Ed seemed to take this point, but then he became evasive, saying that he didn't "promise" that the movers would wear masks and gloves. However, Ed DID say that they were going to wear masks and gloves. It was disrespectful and evasive for Ed to sidestep using this "promise" excuse rather than taking responsibility for saying that the movers would wear masks/bandanas and then the movers not wearing masks/bandanas. Clearly, I had made my point because Ed then said that he was going to emphasize to his crews that they wear masks, but Ed then doubled back, telling me that it wasn't "because of you." The level of disrespect by Ed as well as the slowness and carelessness of the movers makes me wonder why this company has an A+ rating with BBB. Perhaps Ed is able to intimidate enough customers into not speaking up? Yet another insult, Ed told me that I was "one of those people who will never be satisfied." Disrespectful, insulting, and unnecessary. The company did give me a refund for 1 hour because the movers overcharged me by a half hour and because the movers actually left my old apartment (without telling me they were leaving) and headed to my new apartment without clearing out all of the stuff from my old apartment. After the load in, the movers then had to double back in order to pick up all of the things from the old apartment and bring them to the new apartment. I don't think that I would have ended up posting this bad review if it hadn't been for the rude and nasty treatment by Ed. I do appreciate that the company is giving me some money back for overcharging me and for leaving some of my belongings in my old apartment (thank you to employee Sandy, who was excellent to work with). Another insult, towards the end of our phone call, Ed accused me of lying about my experience. I brought up the other bad reviews of the company as evidence that there's a pattern of problems, and Ed said that the other reviewers were people who, like me, didn't get what they wanted. I have to agree. I wanted a good move by an honest company, and I didn't get it. So, here I am. I should also warn you that they start the timing of the move from the moment the movers leave the warehouse, which I've never experienced before. So, I paid for an extra 15 minutes. Our move ended up being paid for (Fed. Job), which means we had no say in whinare movers were. When we were shopping around Ed Kulesza, the General Sales and Marketing Manager came over as an estimator to price our move and answer any questions about he process. I was impressed with what I was told about their company although we ended up not being in charge of our move. The only issue I saw was that our initial esimate was non-binding, and the weight of the move was estimated at 21K, and our weight was actually much closer to 30K. Also i the estimate it seemed that some charges such as extra fees for handling our tractor were left off. Had we gone with this company our actual costs would have been at least 20% higher ad it seemed the moving wright estimate was low-balled. I am basing this off of the estimate given tonus after our onitial meeting- we did not shop aound with other companies to see how they compared. I did have a very positive first impression despite the estimate coming in over 5K under. I have moved a few times before and I was very impressed with how frank and above board Ed was about the process. The company uses their own movers, and has a good reputation. Ed claimed that 1/3 of their business is helping military families move from military bases to other bases or residences- in any case this means that the movers need to have clean records even to go on to a base. Ed answered all questions about the process, and gave advice. He recommended that we research his company's reputation. I am impressed so far. We are moving from Woodbury, New Jersey to Roseburg, Oregon so we are doing out due diligence and researching who to do business with. We like what we see so far. One of the things that did impress us was his advise on downsizing- when moving 3,000 miles it is a good idea to purge any junk, and get rid of any extra weight. For some items- it just makes more sense to re-buy items new when needed after a move versus the cost of shipping them across country. Food and tools and clothes and other miscellaneous items are typically good candidates for things to give away to save costs in the long run. FYI For our downsizing to lower our weight and overall moving costs we are planning to work with: 1)HABITAT FOR HUMANITY and now also 2) MOVE FOR HUNGER Delaware Moving and Storage, Inc is also a member of AMSA American Moving Storage Association and the BBB, so hoping that's a good sign. From everything I can tell this is an upstanding company. It is crucial to have someone you can trust when moving. [][][][]We had a nightmare moving experience when we used SUDDATH two years ago. If I could given them 0 stars, I would. A desk and refrigerator that were in storage arrived at our new home extremely damaged. The desk is a total loss. To add insult to injury, the movers dropped a couch on our new hardwood floors causing more damage that will need to be repaired. When we attempted to contact the sales rep who assisted with the move, Dave Sterling, he would not return our calls. The owner, Drew Hopkins, responded to a google review that I wrote stating that he will use my feedback to improve their service. He has not reached out to me to attempt to make thing right. It was all-and-all very good process. The estimator was thorough, friendly, and responsive. The movers showed up on time, handled our items with care, and efficiently, and they were able to execute about a 70 mile move from PA to DE for a 2K square foot home in one day. There were no issues with any of the re-assembly required (beds, cribs, etc.). This is a terrible company, run away, do not hire them. They do not put boxes in the rooms that the boxes are clearly marked for (I had things labeled for the basement, they were put in the second floor bedroom!). The took boxes that were clearly marked for the owner to take, then broke items within those boxes. They also lost a box of framed photos of pets and family members from years before digital cameras, so there is no way to recover them. I would advise anyone who is considering this company to move them .. To call ANYONE else but them. From the day I called to book them and now two months later ... I have paid top dollar for horrible service. I gave them a fair chance to resolve the issues and they showed even further how incompetent they are. Excuses and promises is what I got. Bruises and cuts and pulled muscles from having to move a ton of stuff myself. This is a bad moving company. The mistakes started at the top and kept going and going and going. They wasted my time and they wasted a lot f my money. It cost over $2000 to move 10minutes away... From a small townhouse to a small condo on one floor. It took them 12 hours. I didn't realize just how bad they were until a few days later. I tried to rectify the matter with Drew Hopkins and Sandy Jones and they kept passing the buck and showing More unreliability They finally agreed to a small refund and to fix a problem with my couch that they caused. They never got the refund check to me after supposedly sending it twice. Two checks lost in the mail? I waited for their .employee to come fix the couch issue and deliver the check. He got lost... He was late. If you want to waste your time and money and get treated with incompetence ... And excuses. Use these movers. And this was for a ten minute ... Two mile away move. Sorry to say this but I wouldn't use these guys ever again. They were hours late to pack, about 6 hours late! Then they were just throwing things in boxes at the end. They put pots with the toilet brush and bathroom rug in one box. I quickly put the toilet brush with its container in a bag so as not to get it in my nice calphalon pots and skillets. Then the delivery, they were extremely late in arriving and they reported that their truck broke down. They didn't show up until 5pm while the delivery was set for 8am to 10am. My husband spoke to Ed, a representative from this company. He apologised for the bad service and follow up. Unfortunately, at this point in time there wouldn't be anything he could do to remedy the situation. Considering that he did take the time to reach out to us and that our previous experience with this company was good, I am going to raise the rating to a 3 star. read more

After using this company twice before, I called for an estimate. The estimator came promptly on a Monday and promised an estimate on Wednesday. That past with no response. On Thursday I got an apology and promise the estimate would be forwarded to me on Friday. At 5 pm Friday, I texted for the estimate and he responded it would be sent. The weekend past and on Monday, I got a response the estimate would be sent. That was the last I heard from this company. I cannot explain why they would send an estimator, and waste my time with empty promises that cost me one week getting other bids. This is not a high quality, trustworthy organization. I urge you to call anybody other than Delaware Moving and Storage or any of their affiliated companies. They talked a good game and presented the company well when they did our estimate and "sold" us on their integrity and service. We have moved many times in the past (including Internationally) and this was the shortest distance and by far the worst experience. Our belongings were handled carelessly and items valued at many thousand dollars were stolen or lost and destroyed by their employees and despite having replacement cost coverage they were totally uncooperative in trying to settle our claims. We filed complaints and got nowhere until we contacted our credit card company (we had used a credit card to pay for the move in full) and instituted a complaint resolution procedure (which they presented their position in) and which resulted in the credit card company finding in our favor and refunding the maximum amount that was available to us. Regardless we are still involved in litigation with DM&S and continue to be frustrated and disappointed with their service and performance. We would strongly advise you to use another company for your moving and storage needs. read more

Hired these guys for a move in September. The estimate was decent and the guy Aaron who came out was really nice. The guys showed up on time. However the doors were left open and they smoked in the garage which made its way through the house. An item was taken out of the garage and when I called to get the item returned or compensated I was told to submit a claim form. I did and never heard back for two months. I repeatedly reached out to Sandy for an answer and she gave none. I called and demanded to speak to the owner. I spoke to the owner JD who said I would need to show video proof. Which is outrageous as I was the only one home with the movers on the day of our move and I don't have cameras up all over my house! Only to offer me 10% of the value of the item and troubles it caused. He blamed me for not taking care of this sooner which I did but his staff did nothing. I had to chase them down for months. Complete arrogant business owner and shouldn't be managing people or business. Would NOT recommend this company. Go elsewhere for your moving needs. read more

Another great move for our family from the Delaware Moving Co. Dave has helped us move my mother-in-law from her home of 60 years to a condo, then to an assisted living facility. This time he assisted us with a small but mighty move of furnishings from my mother's condo to three different households. We liked the sales representative, he's great! The crew was friendly and respectful. But that's where it ends. When it came to moving the stainless steel refrigerator, they removed neither the doors or the steel front door of the house. When the fridge got stuck, they shoved until it went through, leaving deep grooves in the front of the fridge and gouges in the steel front door and door frame. The electronics behind the ice/water dispenser are damaged, probably from the fridge door flexing after it went through and the fitting for the water line had to be replaced. After several weeks, a check for the standard .60/lb arrived, nothing near the $2K it will cost to replace it.While it's on us for not purchasing additional insurance for damage, it's our belief that you shouldn't need to pay extra to avoid negligence and incompetence. There were numerous other dents and holes punched in furniture but their repair guy did a great job on those plus fixed up all of the damage done to the walls of the new home. read more

If you want to pay top dollar for lazy, dishonest service, these are your guys. If you want half of your stuff damaged or broken, call them up. Had a local move and paid for packing, moving, and storage services. 1. Packing was awful, and that's being generous. Some boxes had to be unpacked and repacked because super fragile items were not wrapped. Some boxes were not labeled (kind of important when some are going to storage and others aren't). And others were packed using the "just throw it in" technique. 2. Same people who dismantled furniture couldn't put it back together. Some items were blatantly put together incorrectly or half way, and then hidden so we wouldn't see it until they were gone. 3. Estimator (ed) talks a big game that no one in the company can back up. Sorry Ed, your crew is NOT professional. They complain about stairs and the size of furniture. Sorry Ed, they can't be trusted with priceless heirlooms (thank goodness we moved those items ourselves). And Ed, you stink, too. Telling me one price, then trying to sneak $100/hr MORE on the paperwork, then conveniently not remembering the conversation. 4. Management doesn't care. So don't bother complaining about the service. I sent a letter with pictures and a thorough detailing of price discrepancies, etc to Sandy. She tried to explain one of the price issues, made my case for me, then stopped responding to my messages. Bottom line, you're better off asking a group of your enemies to help you move than hiring the "professionals" at Delaware moving and storage. By the way, they're parent agent "Wheaton World Wide" doesn't care, either. I've been trying to share my experience with them for weeks now, no one cares. read more

I will never use this moving company again nor refer them to anyone. Worst moving experience ever! They moved our furniture into storage and then delivered it to us 2 months later. They lost pieces to furniture during the transition and now are not taking responsibility. They did not put beds together and stuck crated pieces in closets, so they did not have to unwrap. They damaged newly finished wood floors, marked walls and put scratches all over the furniture. They dropped a refrigerator damaging all 4 sides. When they came to remove the refrigerator, they told me that their co-workers tightened the dolly belt too tight, which caused some of the damage. Both crew teams seemed to be very inexperienced to the point that they were carrying furniture upside down and drawers were falling out onto the floor. This company is a joke and does not back up their service. They damage your property and you don't get what you paid. They also wait 2 weeks to contact you. Who has 2 weeks to wait for beds to be put back together? They should have been out at my home the next day making things right. This company is the worse and don't rely on your salesman to help you, because he told me via text, he had to stay out of it. read more

Well, it's been 2 months since this company moved us interstate & we are still finding broken & scratched furniture. The packers didn't show up when scheduled, the movers didn't show up when scheduled & the sales guy was impossible to get a hold of. This added a lot of stress to our move. The cost of the move was high, one loader had a huge attitude & there was little respect for our stuff. What more can I say, except there are better moving companies out there.
