    Beer Battered Fish Taco

Living on the west coast for a number of years Del Taco was a staple. So imagine my excitement when they finally came to Michigan!!! (Insert happy dance) I started with their strawberry lemonade. This has real strawberries in it and is super tasty, not too sweet. The fish taco was on point with my lime wedge. It came with fries which were gobbled so quickly they didn't make the pic. The chicken soft tacos are sooooooooo good. I love the sauce that come on them. This is the one item that is always perfection and why I go to them. Lastly but certainly not least... the caramel cheesecake bites. Holy Hera!!!!! Just yummy.

2 tacos for national taco day. EBS would be proud.

Now I understand why Taco Bell was nervous when this chain came to Michigan. I was so use to skinny little tacos from there and other fast food places, that I got the National Taco Day special of 2 regular tacos for $2.75. With my eating habits, I could have just gotten away with 1. Stuff full of meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato (even when I asked for them to go light on the lettuce and tomatoes) that it was messy to eat. Happy to find that they had mild sauce, but that was useless because because of the fact the taco meat was spicy. Very hot mouth and glad that they had Coke products and free refills - needed that. Maybe they should add ice cream to the dessert menu to help customers cool off those taste buds. Service was quick and friendly. Large menu gave you choices. Being an acid reflux sufferer, I probably won't be back until it is for lunch. EBS would have loved celebrating tacos for any reason. Good quality for a cheapass price.

this isn't even what I ordered

My wife and I have been running errands and wanted to try something new for supper and found this place on yelp. When we arrived it seemed a little quiet, but the hostess/waitress quickly appeared and showed us to a table. From there everything went smoothly. I opted for a plate of enchiladas, and found them to be very well prepared and seasoned. The salsa had that wonderful tomato forward texture to it that I enjoy very much. The room is small, and it's clear that they get most of their business on carryout. That being said I think if you showed up with a somewhat larger party they would be glad to take care of you. They certainly took good care of us.

Being that I'm on this side of town for a few days, I figured it was finally time to check it out. The location's much bigger with more seating than the Rochester Hills one. Nicely decorated with ample seating, you order at the counter and they run the food out to you. Not sure if they have waitresses or not, but that's how they were running it when I was there. I asked if they had Birria tacos and the man behind the counter said they do, just not on the menu. I ordered the taco dinner with shredded beef, rice, beans and a glass of water. I got served chips and dip which was okay, but the salsa was a bit runny for my liking. The "hot" salsa was good, and wasn't overpowering. Eventually, my food came out and it was a huge portion! I was impressed with all three tacos, rice and beans. It was only $13 on the menu, so I was happy with how much food I was served. The beef was a little on the dry side but still fairly good. Rice and beans were decent, but the music was a bit on the louder side. I docked a star for the meat being a bit dry and louder music considering it wasn't really necessary. The man who rang me up was super nice and friendly and also went through the menu with me since I had a few questions before ordering. Overall, a decent meal for the price and I'd return in the future.

Small interior with some seating, but I got my burrito to go. Staff was friendly and my food was ready within 15 minutes of ordering. The tortilla was so greasy. Costco pizza x10. Seriously; I had to use some napkins on the tortilla because it was just soaked in grease. Not great. I got the steak. It was very good. Tender; no chewy bites and pretty good flavor. Good portions throughout the burrito. That was the highlight along with the guac. A chunky guac done well. It was fresh and just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, half my burrito was lacking in sour cream and cheese to the point I thought they forgot about it. The second half had better portions of those items, but more cheese would've benefited this. Finally, the fries were a joke. No seasoning and no crunch provided for a very unmemorable bite. A shame. Perhaps this was an off day. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. It was fine, but nowhere near what I was expecting. I might try this again, but need some time before I do that. Very good steak and guac. Everything else was lacking.

The restaurant itself has a relatively small foot print where the tables are close together and where there are no frills about this place and definately a tad on the rustic side. Facility aside, this place makes some excellent authentic Mexican street tacos where my El Pastor and Asada taco's were well made, PACKED with meat (no scrimping here) and oh so tasty. Service is quite quick where once seated you get your food within a few minutes making this an excellent spot if you are on the run and looking for a good meal on the quick. Prices are cheap in my opinion where my three taco's and a coke came to just $12. NICE! Two things to note here is that the chips and salsa are not gratis but come at an extra cost and follow up once you get food was non existent in my case. Chips and salsa was not a big deal to me but lack of follow up prevented this business from getting a fifth star. I wish this business was closer to my home in West Bloomfield as I would be a regular here for sure!
