I've had better Del Taco experiences in the past so I was surprised this trip didn't hit the mark. It's Tuesday and Del Taco has an evening taco deal but I have to work during dinner so lunch was the time. They are advertising a Big Fat Chicken Taco right now. On the posters it looks like a chalupa she'll like Taco Bell has so I was all in. Turns out it's not fat at all. It's like a soft pita with fake grill marks and no flavor. I think it might have even been a wheat pita at that. It was soft, but they aren't even warming it before filling it. This one was a huge miss for me and I won't order it again. Also, the grilled chicken, although plentiful had a texture that was off putting to me. It was too soft so that signaled it was super processed. The Del Taco as always was delicious and had that freshly grated cheese. The quantity of cheese is very inconsistent on this one. I've had them there with a bunch of cheese stuffed inside that crunchy shell and today they were a little light on the cheese for my taste. It's OK! Definitely not a dealbreaker. I wanted to try the fresh guacamole today so I ordered a side of guacamole and chips. The chips are served warm in a small bag and the guacamole is a much larger portion than anything. Taco Bell gives you. It is also chunky and fresh made from real avocado, not from a bag some other restaurants serve. I will absolutely order the guacamole again. It was fantastic! read more

Wanted to try Del Taco zoom last time i has it was out west in the 90s. Not very impressed, just had a hard shell taco, loaded with cheese, hardly and meat. My wife was equally unimpressed, we'll stay with the "other" taco place, the name escapes me but their sign rings a bell. Service was quicl and efficient, the dining area was clean and orderly. Might be worth a try if you're looking for a different taste, but this visit satisfied my curiousity fo another 30 years. read more

So excited to finally have tried Del Taco after years of seeing it all over social media. It's definitely an interesting place with food items I wouldn't expect to see on a traditional fast food Mexican food spot. The crowd seems to have died down some which is why we took the chance to check it out. You can order on the Kiosk inside which is a nice alternative since online ordering isn't up and running quite yet. Make sure you sign up on the app or online though to get your welcome offer of 20% off! Just enter your phone number on the kiosk and you're in business. All the food was made fresh to order and it showed! It didn't wow me as I expected based on other's recommendations, but nonetheless.. Food we tried: lots! too much! But had to build a tasting menu, of course. -Crispy chicken taco: 8/10 - better than your average snack wrap -Cheeseburger: 7/10 - basic but a nice option -Crinkle fries: 8/10 - these were nicely seasoned and crispy -Regular Del Taco: 7/10, basic but stuffed to the brim. Lots of cheese -Grilled Chicken Burrito: 2/10 for me. I did not like this. I think the grilled chicken had a funky flavor to me -Beef Burrito: I did not try this but my boyfriend did and he said it was fine, basic -Carne Asada street taco: 6/10, it's just so so but a good alternative to a basic taco -Donut Bites: 1000/10, these are addicting and delicious! -Churros: 10/10, also addicting and delish! -Chicken Quesadilla: 7/10, very cheesy, kind of plain Overall, on its own and based on cleanliness, freshness, service, and taste of some of the food items, I give it a 7/10. Compared to comparable places (lookin @ you, TB), I'd give it a 6. Even the sauces pale in comparison. I'd likely not make a special trip to come back here and might would go again if in the area. Don't waste your time! Newly opened. Won't last. Not nearly as good as Taco Bell (across the street). Ordered a chicken, queso burrito meal with the Deluxe Chili Cheese fries. First, the burrito fell apart at first bite. Second, it was beef, not chicken. Sloppy. Also ordered two taco meal with same fries. Tacos were just ok. Special fries ($2.60 extra) were topped with Pico and some sour cream. If there was chili, I missed it. Sogg Expensive - $30 for two!! Not impressed! Del Taco is good food budget friendly people. It's new here in North Carolina but it's trying to blend in you know what I'm sayin'. The place seem nice, have out door sitting as well. The menu has a lot of different items compared to like Taco Bell. There's fish tacos and your meal come with fries which kind of threw me off. So I decided to get the tostada, Street chicken taco, and the crispy chicken ranch taco. All on the value menu. The street taco speak for itself, how it looks in the photo is how it's taste, not Soo great. Way too soggy, not even sure what that sauce is. The crispy chicken ranch taco was a whole lot better. Chicken was crispy and the ranch pair well with the hot sauce. I had the del inferno hot sauce. The tostada was crunchy with tons of beans if you like beans ( I do) and taste really good with some Del inferno hot sauce. read more

This was my first time at this location. A kind lady took my order and was very polite at the window. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. I opened it up and it was very greasy! Probably from the cheap cheese. I had to wipe it off. I noticed the chicken was only on half the quesadilla and the rest was just cheese. It had a bland flavor so I threw most of it away. I won't be ordering that again. I will return to try something else eventually like a taco or burrito. If the food is better with flavor I will update this post. Not impressed. I got in right before lunch rush. There was nobody at the counter but there are two kiosks there. The first one says it will not give a receipt and the second one was not working. Someone came up and took my order fairly quickly. I ordered a number 4, two street tacos with fries and a drink. It was over ten dollars. The first two tables I came up to were dirty. I put my cup down and went to use the bathroom. Both men and ladies rooms were out of service. This is very unusual and possibly illegal. My food came and it was ok. Pretty good fries. The tacos were pretty small so I was still kind of hungry. I thought about ordering more food, but I really had to pee, so I left. read more

If you're looking for a less flavorful Taco Bell, but with burgers, this might be the place for you. I got a taco and a burrito. The meat is extremely reminiscent of formal hot dog chili. The hot sauces were ok, but not enough to break my Taco Bell habit. read more

1st and last time! I ordered the meal and paid for upgrade of salsa, pico and sour cream. Didn't get it so went and ask to be remade. I was told I only paid for upgrade on one taco! WTH. Hadn't had Del Taco in many years since I travelled out west a lot a more, so I decided to give it shot, see if it was like I remembered. The app had a BOGO on burritos, so i got a standard beef and some fancy chicken burrito loaded up with guac. It was fine for what it is, fast food Tex-Mex about the same as Taco Bell. It satisfied my nostalgia, but I wouldn't really go out of the way for it again, but if I was by one and hungry I would go back. This was my first time going here. I got there around 415 and they were not busy. I ordered an assortment of different things including the street tacos and the Original Del Tacos. The street tacos were very small but tasty. The original del tacos were really good. I ordered the chips and salsa and there were hardly any chips in the little bag. The food is good and always seems healthier than other establishments. My reason for the three star is, the place is filthy. The floors are dirty. The countertops are dirty. There's no napkins in the dispensers. The bathroom smell bad and look extremely dirty and with a new technology you order at a kiosk nobody acknowledges you if you stand at the counter and people make eye contact they don't help even though they have a ton of people back there extremely disappointed for being a new restaurant. Tried out the new Del Taco on Union Cross today. Never have had Del Taco so I was interested in giving them a try. Hands down the tacos are better than Taco Bell. Fresher ingredients and a larger, crispier shell. The beef and bean burrito was fine. Better than Taco Bell but not sure I'd get it again. Crinkle cut fries come with the combo. They were fine too. If side by side, I'd go with Del Taco over Taco Bell all day. I realize this is a duh statement but for the price and flavor, the traditional Mexican Restaurant is hands down the best option. read more

Del Taco NEVER labels their wrappers, so I had to GUESS which tacos are mine, since I add chipotle and my wife doesn't. I'm going to stop eating here if I don't see improvement with my next visit. read more

Food was ok, if you like tacos that are worse than Taco Bell. The women's restroom was out of order and the men's room looked like someone's been having a local meeting of fight club in it. How has this place been open for only a little while and somehow the toilet paper dispenser is half hanging off the wall and it looks like someone tried to rip the sink off the wall. I was expecting it to be a Taco Bell clone, but the flavors are actually totally different. I love that they have seafood options.

We did an online order at the Del Taco, Kernersville. We expected it to be busy with the recent opening. And it was! Traffic was awful. Went in to pick up the order and had no idea where to go to pick up online orders. There is no where. Just stand in the crowd with all the people that are ordering. 20 minutes before I got our order. But it was not complete. Went back for the sodas. Got home and only one order of chips, which we will never order again! 5 chips! The food was tasty but definitely not worth the aggravation and price for an incomplete order. read more

we drove about two hours to come visit Del taco as we're originally from the West Coast we're very excited to see Delta on the East Coast. We went to order they were out of strawberry lemonade how do you end up out of strawberries very disappointing. We ordered some green burritos which weren't too bad lotta beans needed more green sauce. The chicken tacos were probably the best of what we ordered. We split a fry they weren't too bad either. Will definitely come back to see if the food quality has improved it wasn't crowded at all the women's bathroom was huge but they did have a small leak on the sink so the floor was quite wet. I also would have preferred to order on line for pick up and that was not available either. The traffic flow was terrible. They need to learn a thing or two from chick fil a. I hate to disparage a new restaurant but we had an altogether bad experience yesterday. From the time we ordered to receiving our food, it took 45 minutes (lunchtime on a Saturday). The workers could not have been moving slower. We didn't get our fries and sounds like two other orders before and after ours didn't either. The drink machine was broken (Coke dispenser sprayed soda at you), syrup was out on the Dr Pepper. I felt badly for the employees that they were slammed and looked like they had no leadership or organization but it was really terrible.
