Close proximity makes the best late night stop. Son and I had a deal for a free hamburger. We let them know at the time of order. At the window, my son handed the credit card prior to the coupon. This place was horrible. We've been going there for over 40 years and I've never had this bad of service in our lives. Employees were rude. Didn't care. The food was even worse. I've never had such bad food from them in my life. They used to be the best Del talk around, but something has happened and we're never going back. We can't even make good ice tea anymore. This place sucks. I love Del taco but this location has the worst customer service of any Del taco I've eaten at in decades. I quit going to this location because the last time I was there I bought enough food for 10 people and asked for equivalent sauces and the female employee only gave me two packets of sauce even though I specifically asked for two sauces per item. I was very clear and repeated the request and the employee still didn't do it. I found out later on down the road. today my wife goes by to pick up dinner and gets me a double del cheeseburger with at best a tablespoon of chopped lettuce. One of the patties and the cheese were hanging halfway off the burger. It was a complete mess in the wrapper and looked like prison food and not like Del taco food. The majority of the cheese was on the wrapper not on the burger. I had to scrape it all off the wrapper and put it on my burger just to eat it. This location seems to get consistent good reviews, but my experience has been quite different. From being told testily to 'hold on a minute!" at the drive thru, to consistently poor food prep, I cannot see any reason to recommend this location at all. Isn't the "Del Taco" supposed to be the premium taco? An answer to the Hackbarth's "Barstow Taco", which is actually how Del Taco used to prepare their signature taco, before it became a value item. Full of meat, cheese, lettuce and presented in a way that harks back to the days when Del Taco wasn't controlled by management counting every bean. Not anymore! And surely not at this location. Del Taco was not my first choice, but Taco Bell was closed for some reason. Turned out to be a good thing cause I got a cheap and tasty meal at Del Taco. Service was exceptional. For the price I paid, the food was really good. I like their Dollar menu. I bought a couple of Value Crunchy tacos for a dollar each. Although this is the closest del taco to my house, I try to avoid going to this location. I order the same combo every single time... Fish taco combo, no cabbage, Diet Coke, and a side of lemon. Without fail, almost every single time if I ask for lemon, I get lime. In the past I've asked, "Can I have the yellow lemon?" but the few times I have asked that I felt like it might come off as condescending so I stopped. Even specifying for yellow lemon though, I would still get lime. At this point I no longer bother requesting lemon from this locate. Also, there's a 50/50 chance the tacos will have cabbage, as well as the fries being lukewarm. Tonight was once again disappointing with the cabbage and lukewarm fries. I went to this place about a week ago (like the song) and decided to get myself the epic burrito which tasted so incredibly great that I decided to get another one, not only Did the cashier recommend me this absolute beauty of an item, he also was so very kind and wore gloves even when he wasn't working, his name is Kengie and my good I felt so very great when he complimented my appearance and responded to everything I said with "'myself". This Kengie employee raised my spirt and my love for food with his generous words, the food its self was incredible and the soda never was out and had the right amount of syrup. I actually frequent this location every Tuesday night around 11:45pm after work and order through the drive thru from their value menu consisting mostly of their value soft tacos. Every single time I come to this location, I'd say about 90% of the time, the attendant is very professional and friendly. I understand it sucks working late, but overall, very pleased with the service here. Quality of food is Del Taco standard and line moves quickly, averaging a minute or two per car. I feel like a jerk reviewing a Del Taco, but this killed my night. It's sad and laughable, but still. I don't have one of these anywhere near me, aside from 20 minutes both ways. So, when I pulled over tonight and told my fiance there was one in front of me, we both reveled in the gluttony about to transpire. It's been almost a year....chicken soft tacos were making jt mouth water. I had a lot of extra work to do at home, so I was excited to devour these without grace. Never have an issue when ordering in store but if you order in drive through beware. Last time when I asked for the beans added, got home to find out they had added beef.
