Probably the worst experience we have Ever Had at any restaurant. Not kidding. My husband ordered a chicken combo plate, it came back all beef told the waiter, he took it back to the kitchen to "fix" and it came out with only one item fixed as chicken and the other was still beef, we told him that we don't eat beef, he ordered it chicken, can you please have it fixed, come to finally find out the restaurant doesn't make it in chicken, he said take it home, but we don't eat beef... By this time my food is stone cold and not worth eating, so we asked for the manager, She asked what was wrong, so we went through it all with her, she said it's fine, don't worry about it.. The McDonalds of the Laurel Mexican restaurants.... We were immediately sat down and I liked the decor and the vibe overall. However, my menu had something on it ( as yet to be determined what it was....) that got all over my hands. Was it guacamole, something else slimy? I don't know but it was nasty and I had to go to the bathroom to wash my hands. I handed the menu (using a napkin) back to the server and advised her that it was sticky with something really nasty..... yuck. Second impression was not good at that point... Then we ordered queso fundido at $7.00 , but what they serve is far from what queso fundido is! Basically, it is nothing more than a medium sized bowl of their white queso with a few table spoons of chorizo added in. NOT queso fundido, and even our hispanic server admitted it was not. My view is this.... if you are going to call it queso fundido, then prepare and serve authentic queso fundido. Most Americans, I suspect, don't really know what it is unless they have travelled to Mexico. Skip this rip-off appetizer. I was expecting a small iron skillet bubbling with queso fundido served with either tortilla's or chips, customary for that dish.... I ordered the chile verde. YUCK, and I suspect it gave me food poising! While the portion of meat was huge, it was basically a pile of pork mush topped with approximately 1/4 cup of chile verde probably poured right out of a jar. Tasted like the stuff I buy at Walmart... I was expecting a nice portion of chile verde with chunks of tender pork.... you know, sitting in a pool of hot chile verde. What I got was a mushy pile of pork and barely any chile verde. Nasty and I at three bites and was done..... Rice had no flavor and was incredibly blan. Beans were a 10 out of 10. My wife ordered the chicken taco salad and her pulled white meat chicken was tough, blan, had zero flavor and there were no beans in the taco salad and a tiny, I mean TINY bit of lettuce in her salad. Service was adequate but not great. Within a few minutes of departing this restaurant I knew my stomach was not right and a very sharp pain hit my gut. I had to make an unscheduled trip to Walmart to visit their bathroom facilities...... Food poisoning for sure. My wife was fine, so we believe it was my pork mush pile that did it. Pass on this restaurant and spend 7 more minutes in the car to travel over to Casadora's in Ellisville. There you will enjoy much more authentic Mexican food........ Sorry, but Del Sol was a one and one for us, pass on this one unless you are ok with your basic McDonalds of Laurel Mexican restaurants, nothing creative on the menu..... in fact, don't even bother asking for a menu.... you already know what they have! So im sitting here on my break eating, right? First of all, took forever to get our order. Then we are sitting here 15mins waiting for our checks and some boxes, i look around and see my server sitting at the bench playing on that damn phone!!! Then. We go over there to ask for our checks and a box, he brings them to the table still playing on his damn phone. He put the phone on the table with tik toks still playing to hand us our stuff. Del Sol Mexican Restaurante is located on North 16th Avenue in an easy to access location. Del Sol Mexican Restaurante is one of the more beautifully decorated Mexican food options I've ever seen with beautiful wood carvings in most of the furniture along with great food specials which helps make them a popular Mexican restaurant in the Laurel, MS area. Del Sol has an extensive menu with enough items to please nearly any taste. Many people consider this one of the best Mexican food options in the area and I would agree with them as Del Sol provides a lot of food at a good value in a nice environment. We ate here twice while visiting Laurel. The first time was for lunch. We both had the chile rellenos which were delicious. The second time we went was for dinner. I had the carne asada steak and the wife had tamales. Another tasty meal. Service was excellent both times. The restaurant is very clean and the decor is great. read more

We were visiting friends who recently moved to Laurel and they brought us here. We were a party of 9 and were seated quickly. Server took our drink order and gave us time to settle in, talk a little and order. Wide variety menu. chips, salsa and drinks arrived quickly. Servers were pleasant and helpful, and order taken quickly. Our entrees were delivered promptly and our whole group was served at once. No one had to wait. The food was hot, attractive on the plates, portions were all a good size and delicious. Our server was attentive, friendly and had a sense of humor and kept checking on us, refilling the chip basket and kept our drinks full. I would give them 5++ Stars. read more

Me and my husband are come frequently to this restaurant and they never disappoint. We start out usually with cheese dip and salsa and a margarita but I didn't get one this time. I usually get the parillada fajitas. It comes with all the meats and the tortillas, it is phenomenal. My husband always gets the burrito ranchero which I believe has all the meats in it too, we are two peas in a pod. If you are ever in laurel try this place because you might see us there too. read more

I visited this newly opened Tex Mex restaurant a couple of weeks ago and will return when back in town. Del Sol is also located in Hattiesburg and their new 16th Avenue location in Laurel is a welcome addition. With several other Tex Mex restaurants in town, Del Sol offers another choice that is better than most. For lunch I ordered the chicken fajitas for $10 with some sopapilla for dessert. The chips and red salsa arrived first and were crunchy, salty and flavorful. The entree was delivered shortly after and I was pleased with the amount of chicken, bell peppers and onions on the sizzling platter. On another plate was sour cream, white cheese, lettuce, tomato, Spanish rice and refried beans and I asked for corn tortillas. This was a full meal and an excellent value at this lunch price. For dinner, it's more expensive by only $2. Taste wise, everything was very good. Ditto on the sopapilla. Table service during the meal was attentive with many check ins by the waiter checking on us. Del Sol has an attractive interior with Mexican architecture in each of the dining rooms. Some parking is available in front and on the side but most of the parking spaces are behind the restaurant. We had a eye doctors appointment in town and asked them where was a good place to eat? Del Sol they said, it's really good they said. We drove over and found out they were right! Portions are huge! The guacamole was outstanding! It's a more Sonoran style than I'm used to but ultra delicious! Everything is fresh! The salsa was mild but very tasty, chips are perfect. I liked everything on my plate. The place is clean, the staff was fast and got our orders right! The bathrooms are clean and stocked. Oh this place smells good too!! They have all sort of adult beverages, I had a coke and Julie had iced tea, they come in great big glasses!! If we come back to town we are coming back to Del Sol!!! read more

Such a disappointment. First off the manager is a liar and don't expect a decent outcome when dealing with this restaurant. The waiter was uncaring and needs some training on how to properly speak to paying customers. We decided to try DelSol Mexican restaurant in Laurel, MS for the first time and I will never step foot back into this establishment. I ordered a peach margarita and my guest ordered a sweet tea. Before we could order our food, we were being attacked by flying nats and red bugs. At this point I no longer desire to eat here and we are ready to leave. I ask the waiter to speak to the manager because I am not able to drink or enjoy my margarita because I am getting attacked by bugs. I went to del soul Restaurant on 6/6/22 I in Laurel,Ms. I went in the lobby to dine in at the restaurant. I waited over 15 minutes. Waiting on a waitress to come take my order. So she never came. They where in the restaurant laughing & talking. So I decided to call the restaurant. &ask for a menu.& the manager answered the phone. & I ask him can I have a menu to make a order. He told me that they didn't have a menu in the restaurant. & I new That was a lie. He told me I had to place my dine in order over the phone. I told him I didn't no what I want. So the manager. My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Laurel. Great atmosphere, very clean and cozy. Can't believe the prices and you get a lot. Two can easily split a dinner. I got the sampler platter for $10 that included a nicely sized enchilada and tamale, delicious. Also a huge crispy taco overflowing with cheese, chili relleno, tostada, rice and beans. Plate included large portions of lettuce, tomato, cheese and guacamole. Meat and sauces seasoned perfectly. We got a small queso and it was so creamy. Salsa needed more heat and spice though. When we walked in it was moderately busy, but two female staff were on their phone and didn't speak to us. They waited on the 14 year old boy to come seat us. One of those same females took our order, for our table of five and got the majority of the order wrong. The only thing correct was cheese dip and a plate of ground beef. When ask to fix only one of the four orders that was wrong; she rolled her eyes at us and scuffed. When returning plopped the hot plate down in front of my 9 year old niece and said here!
