When anyone comes to RI to visit, my son immediately wants to take them to Del's. Then he proceeds to let them know, they are not allowed to drink it with a straw since, "no one from Rhode Island does that." His accuracy is 100%. Unlike most Del's stands in the state this one accepts credit card (and cash). There is of course a small fee to use a credit card, but I appreciate the convenience of it, especially since we are here multiple times a week in the summer. They have a large variety of flavors including cherry, which I know isn't at all the Del's locations. I however always stick to the classics of either lemon or watermelon. Oh, Del's. I have memories of my childhood in MA where there would be an event where I was lucky enough to experience a Del's cart and have the amazing frozen lemonade with the lemon bits in it. It is truly one of my fav treats, especially on hot New England summer days. Whenever I am in RI, I need to look it up to see if one is close by. This particular location has a drive thru, which I have never seen at a Del's and it's cool they offer that. I just ordered at the window but a nice feature for people that don't/can't walk up and order. They have all your flavors,lemon,watermelon,peach etc. They also sell food such as hot dogs,nachos,pretzels,candy.. My lemonade wad delish and consistent with how del's should taste. Nothing more Rhode Island than a Del's! This Del's location is one of my favorite, never too busy, has both a drive thru and a walk up window, and the staff is sweet as can be. For those non-Rhode Islanders, Del's is a delicious frozen lemonade concoction. The traditional flavor is lemon, but watermelon is a close second and my personal favorite is cherry. The other flavors this year are peach-mango and blueberry. Not sure what to flavor get? Ask for a sample (or 5...)! If you're hungry as well as thirst, they have some carnival snacks (nachos and cheese, pretzels, candy etc), but the main attraction here is the lemonade. Tips: -Cash only! -They have large size (quart) containers if you're headed to the beach/pool/bbq and want to bring a crowd pleaser. While "Del's" is a trademarked brand, that is the term used to order such a beverage; rarely is it referred to as "frozen lemonade."' At Del's Lemonade of North Kingston, they also serve some food: Soft pretzels, nachos, chips and candy. There are also several flavors of Del's: most notably being watermelon and cherry, aside from the original lemon flavor, which is still my favorite. Now, there are a couple rules to follow when partaking in a Del's. a. no straws allowed b. no spoons allowed these are greatly frowned upon by native Rhode Islanders The shake and fold method is really the most affective. between sips, you shake your cup to regain a drinkable consistency. Then as you tip the cup back to sip you fold it while shaking, making a narrow path for the Del's to flow into your mouth. This is to prevent the contents from falling all at once onto your face. It is a method that requires some mastering, but it is the approved method of Del's consumption. You have not fully experienced Rhode Island until you experience a Del's. read more

Small little retro shack with a drive through- ordered some mini classic lemonades. SO GOOD. Fresh and light with real flavoring- not artificial and overly sweet. Went to the Dells in West Warwick and it was as good as it's been for 50 years. you can taste the lemon and lemon rind and very slushy, it was very good as always. I went to the Dells in North Kingstown and I don't understand how they call this dels? it was all ice very little flavor and tasted like citric acid instead of lemon. The Dels company should not allow this! it's too bad some companies are just out for profit I guess. Wow' just went to the Dells in West Warwick on Coweeset Avenue and it was the same recipe they use in North Kingstown why they change the recipe I have no idea. Now it's icy instead of slushy it also taste like Citric acid instead of lemon. is money really that important that they would lose my business? read more

must be nice to own a del's lemonade store. closed all winter and when its hot all summer and 95 degrees you dont open until 12 in the afternoon. the shop in richmond is the worst. they leave there red open sign on all day and night but are never open. i own a company with 15 employees working in a 110 degree shop and have gone 4 times this month and nope not open . nevermind all the hard working men and woman working there butts off after the hurricane pulling in and oh not open. thank god there is a dunkin donuts near by for them to go to. read more
