When I first started working with them, they were providing about 40 hours a week of companion type care for my dad and then transitioned into 24 hour a day care for the last few months. I know that Julie must be a good manager because every caregiver she sent to our home was amazing. And I know it takes a good person at the top to have so many good employees. Julie was constantly involved and checking in as well. She made me feel like I was her only client when I know that is the furthest from the truth. In addition to providing so much caregiver support, Julie was also a wealth of knowledge and connections, constantly making insightful suggestions. She was someone to call when my dad had to go to the hospital, and she was instrumental in connecting me with other resources as needs arose. I don't know how I would have gotten through the last 2 years without the team at Halo - they were one bright spot in a really difficult time. I wholeheartedly recommend Halo to anyone in need of reliable, compassionate, and the highest quality home health services.

The only communication I received after our December 28 meeting with Bethany was a "text" on January 10 saying she hasn't called because she had the "wrong number" was too busy assisting other "seniors" and our CNA was "sick." With our authorization, payments were made directly to the care agency, so we did not have to deal with anything except establishing our eligibility for services under the policy. We recently moved to Monterey and contacted Central Coast Senior Services. We were told that they did not deal with long term care insurance companies, even MetLife or CalPERS. We would have to pay them for services each month and then we were responsible for getting reimbursed by our long-term care insurance. This means we would have to send care notes, invoices and other documentation each month to the insurance company. Whatever the quality of service Central Coast provides, and it may well be good, but potential customers should be aware of this unusual part of their services and the additional work it entails.

Marianne and Alecia texted me pictures when I was in another state so I felt connected. Marianne went above and beyond to make sure that there was a loving and familial atmosphere. She brought homemade food that she made for her own family. Alecia was a great listener and companion. Our family member adored her and sometimes asked her to sit and chat. We also found that Alecia's homemade chicken noodle soup was truly heartwarming! When our family member was entering hospice and becoming less communicative, it was hard for us to coax eating and medications. Anna worked her magic and was persuasive where family was not!
