I bought red caviar and many other products that end up being expired long time ago yet was still sitting on the shelf. you may say that I should have looked at the date, but as a Cali resident for close to 30 yrs I am not used to doing that as I expect store to monitor their product expiration date. caviar had really strong fishy smell and I end up throwing away the whole thing ($50+) and now opens this box of candy and realized that something does not look very good. Other than that they do have good selection of ice cream , but I am not sure it's the reason to return

Produce is so fresh as are meats and fish. What I dont hear are folks raving about the poke - oh my goodness! Sure, the price per pound may look high, but come on...who buys a POUND of poke? I always stop for 1/2-1/3 lb and I've never found any so consistently well seasoned. They go through 2-4 bowls a day...no surprise. The staff are always so friendly, too.

You feel like home…read more. Let me start by saying that the owner is genuine and amazing person. I'm Persian/Turkish but have a very blended family. He greets and treats us like family! For example, after filling my basket once, I go to the counter and realize I brought the wrong wallet. Instead of going along with me wanting to drive a quick 5 minutes to my house, he refuses to. Instead he tells me to pay next time. No if and or buts about it. Who does that these days... I was living in pleasant hill and going to Sunnyvale market years ago. After being treated HORRIBLY by staff countless times during the years then topped off being sold old meat and imported sweets that I paid an arm and half a leg for, I decided to try Kasra. Although it is a smaller store, there was many quality and authentic items to choose from. There honestly has never been someone I wanted that he didnt have. A variety of cheeses, herbs, fresh baked breads (sangak I bought today was love) dry cured meats, halal meat, pastries, authentic marmalade etc.... I drove to this store for a couple of years from Pleasant hill and now live in Walnut creek and call this my local market.

Had a team dinner here the other night, and I really enjoyed this place!…read more First off, I loved the atmosphere! I'd describe it as barnyard chic with its darker wood tables and chairs and barn-style lighting hanging from the ceiling. It has a cozy, rustic feel while still being a fun place to hang out. And if you're a sports fan, they have several TVs showing different games, which is a nice bonus! Our waitress was friendly, and the food definitely did not disappoint! I ordered the Guinness Beef Pot Pie, and I was really happy with my choice! My only regret was not ordering a side of potatoes or something extra to go with it. I also got to enjoy a few appetizers, including the Brussels sprouts, truffle fries, and tomatoes with burrata. All three were absolutely delicious! Overall, it was a great spot for a team dinner. Good food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a place where you can comfortably hang out and enjoy everyone's company. I'm already looking forward to coming back and bringing my family so they can experience it too!
