I asked around to find the best instructor to take the classes and test for my Maryland Wear and Carry license. Timothy Von Eiff was highly recommended by several friends and I could not have been happier. I was tol Cindy M. d "Tim is the best!!!". He was extremely knowledgeable, has been doing this for a long time and it showed. He not only taught me everything I needed to know, but made it enjoyable in the sense that he related the law to real life situations and kept me wanting to learn more. Never once did I look at the clock and wonder when it would be over, but looked forward to applying the learned skills downstairs at the range. I believe Tim doesn't ever take more than 4 people at a time, so you always felt at ease stopping and asking him to explain things further. I don't often leave reviews, but feel I wanted to for Tim. Not only was the course great, but he made the whole experience and safe and enjoyable one! read more

This is a father and son operation out of Continental Arms Gun Shop and Range. The four hours flew by, and although the subject matter is deadly serious, Phillip Von Eiff delivered it with both authority and humor. It was a lot more enjoyable than I anticipated and not a single thing was left out - I had no questions at the end and I feel more confident in the process of acquiring a firearm and the fact that the follow-up is also comprehensive is very reassuring. Not only do they instruct you on how, what, why and where, but there is hands on training on the range with multiple caliber handguns, so that there are no surprises ahead. If there is anything holding you back from pursuing an HQL then let this team fix that for you. read more

In order to renew my conceal carry permit I was required to take an 8 hour firearms training course. Immediately, I set up my class with Timothy von Eiff as I did 3 years ago when I previously renewed my permit. Timothy is very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions in great detail. I was impressed with his first hand experience in real life scenarios and familiarity with Maryland law. Although 8 hours is a long time to receive instruction, especially when most of the information I was taught in previous certifications, the time passed quickly. I highly recommend Timothy von Eiff to anyone looking for any type of firearms training. I plan to see him again myself in 3 years, as well! read more

I have been going for training to DFC for years. I always come away with something new, a valuable technique that I had never tried before. Tim is always researching the field for information that can give his clients the edge that might make the difference. In my latest qualifying refresher course, I discovered that his partner, his son Phillip, is carrying on that cutting edge tradition. If you want to know about Glocks, or firearms in general, and best techniques, Phillip has the knowledge and the teaching skills to build competence and confidence. Definitely high caliber training! read more

My parents and I took our HQL class with Phil. He was extremely clear and informative in his teaching and spent extra time to ensure that we actually understood shooting and safety mechanics. Neither of my parents are "gun people" and were somewhat nervous going into it. Phil did an excellent job of putting them at ease, setting reasonable expectations, answering questions, and coaching them through the actual shooting. The three of us continue to use his lessons/handout as a reference. read more

Tim Von Eiff is extremely informative and professional. He seemed to cover every possible situation and got us to think differently (and SAFELY) about how to use a handgun effectively. He is a fabulous teacher. He knows the mistakes you will make before you make them and then corrects them. He uses multiple devices to teach you to shoot safely and to hit your target accurately. I highly recommend him if you want to safely shoot and dramatically improve your knowledge about firearms. read more
