I'm a first-timer to the Kelsey-Seybold system, and my initial experience was a good one. Calling their reservations hotline was a breeze; they take your particulars over the phone so you don't have to fill out forms when you get there. Luckily I was able to get an appointment quickly with the pediatrician I wanted. The receptionists were nice and efficiently got my file ready and my credit card on record (I paid out of pocket.*) The nurse who took my son's particulars was a sweetheart and also helped me get set up with their online services so I could see any results from our visit. The wait for the doc was long but worth it. Dr. Richard Byrd was very friendly and a non-alarmist (something I really appreciate!) answering all our questions, putting our minds at ease, doing a thorough physical exam, and confirming everything the Hong Kong doctors have said about my son. My faith in HK public health clinics is solidified! I'm now relieved that if we visit Houston in the future, my son has a doctor on hand in case something happens! -- *Fees for new patients start at $150 if you're curious.

I have been lifting weights for close to two years now, but have struggled mentally with adding weight to my leg days because of a previous ankle injury. While the injury is completely healed and I've been thru PT, I find myself constantly worrying about my form and aggravating the injury by adding weight. After speaking to my nutritionist about my apprehension, she suggested going to PLEX to have them set me straight and provide me with guidance. I was easily able to schedule over the phone for a Tuesday morning session. The trainer I worked with was very knowledgeable and welcoming. He gave me a quick tour of the facility and explained that all kinds of people work out at the gym. When I walked into the actual gym, my first thought was that I never in a million years would have stepped foot into this type of place a couple years ago...but I quickly reminded myself how crazy I was to think this - because everyone was so nice and warm. For the next hour, my trainer led me thru a whole circuit of light weights, bands, sprints, ropes, abs, etc. and while I was breathing heavier, had an elevated heart rate and dripping with sweat - I was loving every minute of it! He had me complete a lot of challenging agility drills and that really pushed my limits with my ankle, but it was a lot of fun. While this gym is a little out of the way than my usual place, I can definitely see myself making visits part of my routine to change things up and continue to strengthen my ankle. I'm really interested in trying a class sometime soon. I definitely recommend PLEX, regardless of your fitness level or knowledge.

Extremely Disappointed - Lack of Transparency and Accountability…read more I received my care for less than 10 minutes in the urgent care but waited for more than an hour. I was never informed that my insurance was out-of-network at the time of service. Six months later, I received a surprise bill with no explanation of whether it had been submitted to my insurance. When I asked, they said they'd resubmit it--then a month later, I got a revised bill for $300. At the time of service, no Good Faith Estimate was provided, which violates the No Surprises Act. When I raised this with the billing department, I was told I had to pay because I signed an agreement--regardless of their legal obligation to inform me. I asked to speak with a manager and was denied. I followed up via email and was ignored. This is not how patients should be treated. If you value transparency, respect, and the ability to voice concerns, I strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere--preferably at a location that honors your rights, addresses your concerns. When patients are ignored and denied clear cost estimates for their care, it sends a troubling message about how little their concerns matter. This lack of transparency is not just disappointing--it's indefensible.

Two days later, they charged $180 on my card while the State Farm PIP was supposed to pick up the charge. When I called to inquire, they say they cannot speak to me because my son is 18 years old. It is true but this has nothing to do with medical reports but a simple incorrect billing rectification. They have actually given me the medical report over the phone without asking for my son's verification. I wish I could have given zero stars.
