When I first took my son into this shop, the sales advisor was friendly and happy to assist, take my money and then inform me that the Christmas present would be ready to collect within a week. I subsequently arrived and found that they only had the shop disply model and it was dirty. No care had been taken over presentation. I asked for a clean one, or would it be posisble to have the bike cleaned as it was a Christmas present for a 3 year old. The level of dis-interest from the owner of this shop was awful. He said that it was not his fault as he hadn't got the bike ready. I asked if he would take responsibility and simply have it cleaned for me...so he repeated that it wasn't his fault. I try to give business to local traders where possible to halt the advance of big-brand stores as I hope to get good quality and friendly service. I was very wrong here. The attitude from the manager is abnoxious and arrogant. I will always recommend good experiences to my friends and family. This experience will ensure that I go out of my way to tell people how poor the level of service in this shop is...unless you are parting with your cash of course! I have bought a bike from here before and received average service, however that was my only respectable experience. I am a teenager and I think it was the presence of my mum that motivated the manager to provide a satisfactory service. Every other time I have been into the shop with friends the service I have received has been poor, the lack of interest in me and my enquiry has been poor, I believe the presence of someone with money is the only thing that he shop revolves around. And the shop is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED (a 20" inner tube cost £2.50 at an independent bike shop in High Wycombe, yet here it seems to cost £6!). The thing that puts me most off the store is the fact that, my mum was involved in a near fatal car accident over 10 years ago, and she possibly wasn't going to walk again(The store is still run by the same family). My dad had payed for 2 bikes and was going to pick them up a day after the accident. He explained the situation and asked for a refund on my mums bike, but the stored denied him of one, now the bike hadn't been ridden or even left the shop and he was still purchasing one of the expensive bikes. So I ask you, what kind of a shop provides a service like that?!!! read more

Having read the other comments I have to ask if the customers went to the same shop that I visited. Myself and my husband visited the shop a couple of weeks ago to purchase a bike each. The shop was busy when we arrived with all staff speaking to different customers, however, this did not stop the staff acknowledging we had entered the shop and were told by 2 different staff members that they would be with us shortly. Once a member of staff became free they spent the next 30 45 minutes with us asking what we wanted from the bikes, showing us different models and explaining the differences. The knowledge of the bikes and the accessories that the staff member had was extremely thorough and he was able to answer all our questions. Overall I found the visit to the shop extremely pleasant and the staff could not have been more helpful. I would have no hesitiation returning to Dees Cycles again and will definately be recommending the shop to my family and friends. read more

I was surprised at the other report I read on this site about Dees as my experience at Xmas was the complete opposite. I went into the shop to purchase a bike for my 11 year old son and the manager couldnt have been more helpful. He spent alot of time with us showing all the various models and explaining the differences between the bikes. I found the manager to be very personable and pleasant even though I didnt actually purchase the bike on my first visit but went back and took my husband. Again on the second occasion, the manager spent time with my husband going over all the details and couldnt have been more helpful, we did purchase a bike from Dees and received excellent service from them. The bike was delivered to my home address in time for Xmas and we had absolutely no problems, it had been checked over and set up for my son as promised. I was really quite impressed. I rang to see if they had a high pressure shock pump. The assistant had a good telephone manner, and was knowledgeable and checked. I went to the shop, but couldn't immediately find what I wanted, the assistant came and asked what I needed, and I found he had put one by for me. He was great with my daughter who needed a helmet, but was shy and coy. The selection of bikes they had looked good, and the shop is much brighter and more engaging than it was previously. It isn't as cheap as online, but then you don't have to send back things when they are the wrong size, don't work or aren't quite what you imagined. I think with bikes knowledgeable advice is well worthwhile. Other staff seemed to be helping a family choose the bike patiently and helpfully, without pressuring them. All in all this seemed to be a good local bike shop, worth supporting. read more

Poor, poor, poor, poor poor. Bad customer service, always late with whatever you ask them for (service, advice, check up) and lack of polished finishing. When you take your bike in for a service you do not expect it to come out dirtier than when it went in. Then to be charged over trhe price odds and two weeks later for the problem you took the bike in to reoccur and be told it'll be additional cost and to take it to another place to find out that the original service by Dees was inadequate in a polite way of saying it, you can't help but think con artists! I will never set foot in that shop again and will gladly advice anyone I know to avoid it like the plague. Not only is there service non-existant but dangerous given they are not doing their job properly and could result in injury to the cyclist. read more

I've bought several bikes from Dee's over the years, in addition to accessories, clothing, parts, etc. Has some very good points, offset by some rather bad ones If you can live with the negatives, it's a very good shop! Positives: Knowledgeable staff, prepared to give sound information and advice. Good quality stock; good selection. Workmanship is good. Negatives: Opening hours have not kept up with the times - makes it difficult to deliver/pick up bikes for working people. Could do to have at least one day with early/late opening times. Stock is crammed into a narrow, dark shop not very appealing either from the street or from inside. How about moving into bigger premises, or opening up an out-of-town service workshop? read more

Definatley the best customer service i have received in a very long time, the staff are tentative to your needs and wants. No task is to small and no enquiry to mundane, they will advise you on whats best for you based on your requiremets and recomend accsessories withought giving them the hard sell. If they dont have what you want in stock then usually they will have it ordered and waiting for you within the week, if it is in stock they will have it ready for you within an hour (obviousley staff and how busy they are permitting). all in all i would absaloutley recomend this store to any of my friens or any stranger looking for a good friendly and competativley priced cycle store. read more

I bought a bike from them a few days ago and I just needed the seat a little lower and my Grandad phoned them first to see if it would be ok to shorten it.He received rude customer service on the phone.We ended up taking the bike back to the shop to get lowered. A simple thing but due to the rudeness and lack of customer service skills we had to go the long way about it.Don't go there you will receive rudeness. I have been buying my bikes from dees for the last ten years and have always found the staff , owner and manager very helpful and knowledgeable .. I have always had good service and the bikes I have bought for my children and myself have always been serviced and ready to ride straight away. Purchased a Specialized Myka from Dees two weeks ago. Spoke to the Manager, Andy as I had no idea where to start. He was absolutely great, he is extremely knowledgable and knows everything there is to know about bikes. He gave me good sound advice, making sure I purchased the right size bike for my height and size and did me a good price. All the staff were polite and courteus and I am going to recommend Dees to all my friends. read more

I visited the shop to have my seat adjusted and was told that they could not do it before I bought new parts for the seat. They also charged over the market price for servicing my new bike (£55). All this while telling anyone listening how busy they are and how many bikes they book in a week. Stronell bike shop in Chesham did the same thing Dees could not do, in seconds, with no pretentious pomp, but a big smile instead. read more

On arriving at dees cycles I was shocked at how popular the shop was. I was looking for a road bike and being a novice there was ample choice. The staff were busy they acknowledged me and i was happy to browse. When the staff were free and saw me they were most helpful and knowledgeable . I found the pricing reasonable and the products good quality. Would highly recommend this shop to anybody it was worth the travel. read more

if you can help it do not come here. the staff are rude and have little intrest the stuff they tell you about the parts is all wrong and everything is over priced. i needed to use a 6 mill allen key to tighten up my seat as i had mine at home any they charged me £1. unfortunately this is my local bike shop and sometimes i dont have a choice. such a shame that halfords closed down. so if you can AVOID this shop!!! read more

God help their business if that useless arrogant &ss Dan is the guy that runs it.
